I've never heard of spamming Yoshi's eggs to win. If a person wanted to win by playing cheap, there are many other ways he could have done it. I have seen someone use Yoshi's eggs to steal points before, but it was an accident.
I used the Smash throws, definitely. Turns out Yoshi was changing the colors of the enemies to have more knockback, and when I was about to KO Yoshi, most of the time another enemy came about that knocked him back or he sidestepped.
Flat Zone 2 is probably the stage I do the worst on, the blast zones are so close that light people die like crazy there. Pretty good Tink performance too.
Thrown items in the air do slightly less than those thrown on the ground for one thing. Additionally, Smash throws do more too. The only other modifier is dashing, which is between smash and normal throw if I remember right.
People who sit back and spam projectiles like that Yoshi are so irritating. Can't do much about it usually either.
I always try to smash throw Shellcrawlers and Sidesteppers, since Mario Bros. doesn't give much room to dodge in any way that a quicker throw would be better at. Turns out the Yoshi player provoked the enemies to change color so that they do more damage and knockback when hit.
You'll be seeing more of that Yoshi in the upcoming video. He did this in every match. But he didn't pick Final Destination, which was reason enough for me to stay there.
I didn't know they did more knock back (damage too?) based upon their color. Pretty cool if so, I'll have to play around with that more sometime.
Well, as long as he wasn't a total jerk about it. Above and beyond, Yoshi players are usually the jerks I run into. They love to run away and spam eggs, only entering the fray for a kill, then running again. They tend to pick Hyrule Castle for its large running space too. It's quite annoying.
Yeah, it tells me something when I'm still learning the quirks of this game so long after I got it.
I rarely ever see a Yoshi player spam the Eggs. I usually see them playing properly; if there's any move they spam, it's the butt stomp. Any character with a reasonably long-range projectile that stuns their targets can be spammed.
That Yoshi user was playing a bit cheapish. I thought it was funny how in the Mario Bros. match, Yoshi's color scheme helped camouflage the turtles that he held. One time, I didn't even know he had a turtle in his hand until he threw it!
In mario bros.stage the color of the shells or crabs makes the knockback stronger. Green being the weakest for the shell, blue is second strongest and red is the strongest.
you can throw at varying speeds. There are two speeds, regular and smash throw, so maybe yoshi was doing that to get more kills. I rarely see captain falcons, so can you play as him for a while?
I see Captain Falcon all the time. But maybe I'm just finding myself matched up against the same people over and over.
I was told that different colors of the enemies give different knockback. That probably explains why, as I rarely picked anything up but green Sidesteppers. That's probably the more likely explanation.
what i meant was combining smash throws with the high priority colors would give extra knockback and override your throws. Maybe you should try hitting the shells or crabs into the enemy because that can also give another speed boost, but it is harder to pull off than just choosing and throwing.
If I got the opportunity to. I'm a poor predictor. I'll try hitting them onto opponents, but I'd probably have to play for like three months before I can get that to happen once.
Roger that. I'm still in the waiting room for Pokémon Battle Revolution waiting for a Friend Match for that game. I'll get to entering these in when I leave.

So Overhazard, have you joined the Tiers Are For Queers foundation?
bok1bok3 3 years ago
Why would I?
Overhazard 3 years ago
I thought you would be the kind of person who would get eventually tired of all the Foxs and Falcos on online brawls.
bok1bok3 3 years ago
They just need a good pummeling from characters they don't consider very good to get scared away.
I choose to remain independent. I never liked the concept of clans and clubs, since they thrive on exclusionism.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Okay then, have it your way, I guess.

Which, of course, is why he got no KOs in Port Town Aero Dive. Later on, the Yoshi player played a bit more aggressively, however.
Overhazard 3 years ago
On Mario Bros, did you just push the A button to throw, or did you "smash throw" where you held the direction you wanted to throw while pushing A?
Because those are stronger, and I think have even more knockback.
It's the only reason I can think of, considering I've played Olimar on Mario Bros. before and never had problems with the shells killing people.

Your rather lucky then, as I almost never see a Yoshi who isn't A) a jerk, or B) a spammer. It would be nice to fight a competent Yoshi for a change.

You can certainly count on me to never spam those Eggs. I run into people who play as Yoshi who know how to play properly.

Wasn't Mr Game&Watch the first Nintendo title?
TemaShika24 3 years ago
The Game & Watch series was the first video games Nintendo ever made, if that's what you mean.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Yes. That's what I meant. Wasn't it similar to a watch except with video games?
Also, for tomorrow, who' hosting the cups?
TemaShika24 3 years ago
I will. I have your Friend Code. I checked.
Overhazard 3 years ago
I mean, what are the tracks?
TemaShika24 3 years ago
Ah, they'll be in the order they are in the game:
GBA Bowser Castle 3
GCN Mario Circuit
Moonview Highway
GCN DK Mountain
I'll put it up as an announcement.

well, I actually use rmdud now, so it doesn't matter anymore, but the SWolf was short for Star Wolf a tribute to the enemies from Star Fox.
