  • A long time ago a friend of my said to me that this song was about anything that you love and miss, a metaphor and I'll never forget that, it made me see the song in a new light. I love this song and miss those days like the song implies.

  • Colorado is proof that God did not create all things equal.

  • @rayrayritz The song AND the place.

  • Some one from New York City disliked this!

  • @majorl311

    This is beautiful!!

  • Most beautiful of all the 50! We have mountains, rivers, plains, mesas, deserts. We don't have an ocean, but really are mountains more then make up for that. Colorado has it all.

  • Such a beautiful song... love it since I first heard ist so many years ago...

  • THORNTON WOOOOO!!!

  • Haven't heard this song since I moved to Florida 20 years ago. Didn't realize I was homesick until I heard it and saw my old stomping grounds. I miss the mountains so much. I have paintings of them in my home so I can at least have a glimpse of what I left behind.

  • i was born in colorado springs. then my family moved away after eighteen years. i still miss everyone there :( i love that state

  • I used to live on ralston and miller so I can say HAHA Arvada.

  • Well my wife and I were not born in Colorado...although we lived there for a long time...we gave our kids the chance to be natives...which they are! Born in Littleton. Going back soon, miss it very much...if you haven't lived there you will never understand the feeling the land or draw or pull it has on your soul.

  • @mrszent Well said.....

  • Spent 35 years in Colorado, and damn sure miss it; when it still was a cow-town. Friendly people, good decent people. Changed when hi tech moved into town, and traffic followed. Even most Bronco fans seemed to go underground.Times are still changing. Many wonderful memories.

  • Wonderful song and wonderful Colorado!

    We miss there!!

  • very nice gallery :) and great song of course :)

    thanks for sharing with us!

  • Pepsi Center at 3:04

  • Let's all remember that this is a Rick Roberts song, as were many others on that seminal blue Burritos record.

  • The best Burrito Bros song.

  • Allemachtig mooi nummer.......en wat een prachtige staat Colorado is.......

  • Born and raised in Colorado - two years ago I moved to Maine. Though I love being right here on the ocean, but man I miss my rocky mountains and my fellow Coloradoans. A definite song that brings tears to my heart.

  • Great song....keeps the spirit of what the Flying Burrito Bros were all about.

  • Absolutely beautiful, and Ricks voice is heavenly on this song! Definitely coming from his heart!

  • I like this song just as much as any Gram era song....it's really beautiful. This music really has heart and feeling in it.

  • This song calls out to us who were born and raised in Colorado. I have left home more than once, for what I thought were good reasons, but in the end they were never what I had wished they could have been. Now I'm 63 and alone and it's time to go home. This time I will stay to the end. Thanks for the upload, and the turning point.

  • This is an incredible song! I love it! Can you also post ''Just Can't Be'' by the Flying Burrito Brothers also? I really like this phase of their musical career. The music was so magical.

  • Great song by FBB and a nice video tribute to the state. Colorado born and raised going on 60.

  • mr. rhodes very well done. you captured everything with a gentle touch.

  • this is one of my favorite song ever... where can i find the &?&*?( tabs of this song? i just find the chords.and i want to know these beautiful country guitar licks!!!

  • This song brings back so many memories of the folk/country-singer songwriter days. Burrito's, American Flyer, Purple Sage...all good stuff. Now...pass me that doobie! ;-)

  • leave Colorado and you will feel this song in your soul with every waking moment and breath! La Plata Canyon!

  • @exhumedhorror Aint that the truth!

  • @exhumedhorror AND I DO !!!

  • left Colorado 4 years ago and left the Mountain to try my life in Atlanta , finished with that race to fast a pace .moving back to Colorado tomorrow or the next. I have missed the mountain every day and I want to come home.

There is a woman I am leaving behind whom I love but I do not have the time. really like to stay but I have to go. too young. wrong.

I am trying to find my way back home.

    so very long alone.

COLORADO I'M COMING HOME! Song written 4 me b4 I was born . Tears in my eyes!

  • 4:29 just breathtaking

  • Raised in Aurora Colorado, graduated from Aurora Central High School 1976. Such a BEAUTIFUL place to live and grow, those Rocky Mountains fed my soul. I get back as often as I can because, no matter how long I am away, Colorado calls me home!

  • no offense to anybody, but i searched burrito saw flying burrito bros. colorado and i'm a hard core skiier so i thought this might be a couple of guys in burrito outfits doing crazy stunts in colorado mountains

    Absolutely beautiful!

What's going on with Ricky Roberts?

  • Hope to never leave again.

  • Ricky Roberts was and is an incredibly gifted musician and an old friend to Colorado. I appreciate his gift to music and his beautiful, melodious and thoughtful songs. I wish him the best and hope to hear him sing again on stage. Thanks treasured friend!

    LHS Lions '79

  • I'm praying for Rick hope he is well. we can't afford to lose another one.

  • Man, I remember this song. Had the album when it came out. Colorado native. Here I now sit in southeastern Arizona for 8 years now...I wanna come home.

  • Don't ever become a music critic for a living. You'll starve to death.

  • I'm here in the Springs again. Moved here in '72 and for as much as it's grown... it's still Colorado, God's Country. I will never again move somewhere else. Lot's of great pictures of my home, Colorado Springs and of where I worked downtown Denver (in that picture) next to the 1st Interstate Bank building (UMB Bank building). I can be poor and happy in this state than be rich and unhappy in other states.

I love Colorado for good or bad...

  • When you find that time machine, dial me in on the way.... spent a summer in Boulder back in - could it have really been 71? Saw the Burrito Bros do this live in 74 and had to hold back the tears...been humming this tune ever since..... Thanks Rick for bringing it all together.... don't forget me on the way back.....

  • i will pay anyone $10,000,000 for a working time machine (trust me, i'm good for it). i wanna go back to then and there. dam song hurts someplace inside of me. such a sweet pain. thank you.
