  • We have a African grey he just turned 2. He hasn't talked yet, but he makes many noises. But this is so cute I love this !(:

  • Damn! Mine used to imitate the trash truck backing up...

  • When i bought my grey 9 months ago, he wouldn't talk. Now i cant seem to shut him up. Even in pitch darkness at 2 in the morning he's still at it. when does he sleeps i don't know. The noise that really freaks a person out is when he does the sounds from the grudge movies in pitch darkness.

  • amazing bird

  • Okay, the "WHEEEE!" gave me a good giggle when I needed it. :)

  • Weeee! Weeee! WEEWEEWEE!

  • Oh he would have such a good time with my African grey Stormie! She talks and sings all the time. Recently, we had a our little dog pass away. She has been making the sound of us blowing our nose. She is talking right and beeping like him. She also makes the sound of the answering machine and phone digits like him. And she has conversations with herself too which is sooo funny! She also says "Call now and dot.com" when a commercial comes on the tv. She is more entertaining than tv!

  • WHEEEE

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, the greatest impressionist of all time!! LOL

  • that would be creepy as hell. lol

  • Holy crap XD You wouldn't know it was a parrot if you closed your eyes, he's amazing. Forget Lyrebirds, African Greys are awsome.

  • "Wheeee!" XD That is a cute bird.

  • So cute! My african grey has a bedtime routine speech is ay good night and he says goodnight santa claus

  • he was singing the sourmath.com song!

  • My moms boyfriend has a African Grey who is named Grissete. It is french for Grey Female. She is three years old but can only say one word, "hello". Although she can do a series of beeps and cellphone noises. Any advice to help her learn more?

    Thanks, Alli.

  • @higgahiggarofl Hehe....Because they're so intelligent, it's difficult to teach them what you want to learn. More or less, it's up to them if they will CHOOSE to learn what you teach them; but more than half the time they will learn what you didn't intend to teach and even worse when they learn something you don't want them to say or mimic!

My bird learns best through context. So if you have a particular habit or routine, the bird will pickup on those.

  • @higgahiggarofl Raise them as if they were your own child, baby talk them sometimes. Mess with them, tickle them even! Just act as if they were a human being, and your bound to see results. Oh and if you can maybe even take them to another parrot of the same type and see what happens. Maybe even take them to school loljk

  • amazing.. i love this parrot. i have never seen a parrot like this..

  • Dodgy phone service poor parrot tries dialing for 2 mins

  • Hmm. I got an African grey but he always bites me cause he's grown too attached to my mom. He's 10 months old. But ALL he does is whistle!!!!! And his eyes look WAYYY different.

  • his beak is a tad bit overgrown! thats ok tho it doesn't affect them cuz my amazon's beak is a little overgrown too lol...

  • REPLY ASAP! how much does an african grey parrot cost? i mite get one but only if its not too pricey, so plz help!

  • @MiSSeZecStatiC Find an avian convention to buy exotic birds. Young birds cost the most and around $600 and upwards...older birds are cheaper because people typically want newborns.

  • @MiSSeZecStatiC i bought mine for £850 but altogether 1000 for cage and toys aswell :)

  • This is just unbelievable UNBELIEVABLE- how can his throat imitate the buttons of a phone???

  • Unbelievable stuff, Y0 YO!! PLEASE PLEASE let him listen to and learn the sound of sonar of a submarine and sound of jet engine starting.... that would be MEGA MEGA cool! Thanks.

  • how does he do that? so cutte im getting one i cant wait.

  • It sounds like he likes to 'make phone calls', lol. My african grey, Bo loves to do phone calls, he picks up the beeps and has a conversation. Its too funny! And Bo is always interested in the phone.

  • @hehfilms thats an international bird. You can't expect him to just do 10

  • Hi---

CHECK OUT NEW PARROT VIDEOS from CHEWY and the GANG Thanks---

    Happy Holidays-

  • how do you go about making him learn thing!! i going to get one soon and want mine to talk too and imitate sounds and stuff! do they just choose what they will say and imitate??

  • @hersheebaby18 Imitate is a surely not giving him enough credit. He learns your routines and he is sensitive to emotions and things that are out of routine. But yes, he will pick up whatever he likes and wants to learn. There are a few things we do teach him. Manners is one of them, so he learns how to say "May I have some please?" when he wants something.

  • how the fuck does it sound like a fucking phone

  • This is amazing! I have a Giant Green Winged Maccaw and all he does is go WHATT?? hi bird, huh?, Ooh and other stuff like that

  • 0:48

Oh my god! Did he just whistle the Brady Bunch theme?

    ...I. Love. Your. Parrot.

  • This gave me such a laugh. :D YoYo must be a blast to live with!

  • wow, he is amazing!! I want an african grey so bad!

  • What an orgasmic parrot! Love how he does a 'test tone' at the start of his act. The 'phone conversations' are classic. Best touch tones I've ever heard from a parrot. It's seems physically impossible to get twin tones from anything with a larnyx, but this little fella has abilities beyond the human voice. His emulation of the speakerphone fidelity vs. the person in the room sound is also notable. And he whisles so well. Turn off the monitor and listen to him and you'll forget it's a parrot.

  • He is precious...absolutely perfect. :)

  • Great video!! Please post more videos.

  • the telphone call is great :D

  • this is the cooliest talkin parrot i seen it does great effects this is lol funny do more

  • my bird does some of that stuff!

  • OMG!! this bird is a genius!!!!!!!!!! woooooooo! he is incredibly smart!!!!!!!!

like i mean wow! im loss 4 words!

  • That's incredible! I love how he warms up and says "Weeeeeeee" so cute. I love the phone dialing( at first I couldn't believe it was him) and the operator....soooooo funny. He is beautiful. I had to listen for a second time and now I'll listen to it again.

  • I totally made and "OMG!" face when I heard him do the phone dialling at around 1:40, then the operator, then you (?) going "Hello? Helllllo?" It sounds perfect!

  • omg! thats crazy how he makes the dialing noises!

  • this is my favorite bird video! wheee! he's so happy! :D

  • AWW how cute he diles nummbers and says say hello and i love the start wheeee

  • lol so cute

  • has to be the funniest bird ever! i almost cried i was laughing soo hard! weeeeeeee!

  • WEEEE! WEEE!!! lol

  • LOL Jackson (my african grey) loves your video! It's the first video that he's reacted like that!

  • 2 WORDS....TOTALLY AMAZING!!!

    Blessings,

    Linda & Geronimo

  • hes a great guy definately brightened my day up

  • At the beginning, when YoYo goes through his "wheee!"s, it looks like he is imitating something he loves. Do you do something with him or someone else where you go "whee!"?

We have found that well-adjusted parrots favor repeating things they enjoy doing or hearing. Given the enthusiasm and the foot lifting that happens when he says it, it would appear that "whee!" is a very fun thing for Yoyo -- either fun to watch or to do.

So, who is getting the "whee!" treatment? What's the activity?

  • Oh! We say "Whee" when we go on a car ride and take a sharp turn. He usually sits in between the two front seats where we wedge his perch in-between. He loves going for a car ride with mommy and daddy! He's even good on long trips as well!

  • Keep the YOYO vids coming....I can't get enough of YoYo.........hang on a sec.......beep beep, er er, aaah! What a character!

  • Great video. Thanks for posting.

  • He is so wonderful! Please post some more of his video's :)

  • His telephone conversation is so awesome! I love his Weeee!!!!

  • that is absoluletly amazing. he even "dials" the "redial" button and does so with incredible accuracy! fascinating!

  • Awesome~ ! Go see my Grey too! I JUST LOVE THEM! hahaha

  • Aww...Adorable, how is he and how long did it take him to learn all this?

  • He's about 9 years old and he learns what he wants to learn. He can learn a new sound just by hearing it once which is good when you want to teach him something and bad when he learns sounds you don't want him to learn. He learns best when he knows the context.

  • Wow, thats cool.

I have one but hes only 2. And his vocabulary isn't as good as Yo-Yo's.

  • i luvvv it lol

  • That was sooo cool!!!!

  • Have you tried dialing with his phone tones? They sound so accurate.

    Amazing

  • Wow!! YoYo takes telephone imitation to a whole new level.

  • i was rollin when he "dialed" the phone
