In some acting auditions they have you take seats, are you allowed to stand up and make your acting more realistic or will that make me sound like I want to appease them?

@Kayseyfairbairn i guess you can never be sure. but i recommend you do some community theater before you try and go professional. believe it or not, you get a lot of experience through volunteer theater (even if you have a small role).

@richig761 get signed on with an acting agency or an agent. You will most likely have to audition for them first before they put you up for anything.

@richig761 When you say "starting to act"... Are you at least involved with a theatre group? Practice is crucial in everything, I'd say. Consider acting lessons, too.

@TaySwiftyyLover - Well i am an actor recently jsut started the first thing you need to do is get professional headshots done. Luckly i ha da friend who was a photographer. 2nd if you live in the UK you should join 'Spotlight' thts the bigest casting breaksdowns in the UK (kiera knightly is on here etc) you can join with no experience and its basically an acting CV i have done a few commercials short films etc through here . the more you do the more jobs you recieve everyday. pm for more advice

Walk into the interview as the character. Eat, sleep, breath, and fuck just as they would to give you a better feel for who they are. It's the actors/actresses who do this that win the part! :D

want to be a professional actress and im 14. But i get completely nervous and very scared for auditions. I have dont training, but I still get very scared, and that holds me back from doing my best. Also, because of that, my parents suggest that I do background first to get used to the set. But I think that will take up ti me, because I want to start out young. @cici2053 Hey I used to be shy when I began acting, but I grew confident after a few months, it's not bad as long as you can take direction and learn your lines the director will have soemthing to work on, and you will become confident when you get used to performing infront of an audience and they applaud you :)

This guy is bang on. I make this mistake sometimes auditioning and it makes a huge difference. Also helps if its something you want or need from the person your reading with in the scene.
