If UFC can help strikeforce in anyway it would be beneficial, they where putting on great events before Zuffa purchased the company and I doubt that is going to change.

Personally I would not mind a mma Monopoly if the fighters got a bigger purse for fighting in the UFC. Sean Sherk only got 60,000$ for his last fight, and If you dont know thats a horrible payout espesialy for a championship bout.

... UFC should've never bought Pride F/C because there is no more competition. At both peaks of each business's careers, they produced some of the most classic and competitive fighters in the world. What should've happened was a gentlemen's agreement to a co-production event at the end of every year so we could have UFC vs. Pride fights.
pride imploded. management either siphoned off cash or they didn't earn enough. they seemed to have had good ticket sales, but must've had limited tv/ppv sales. at the end of the day, they didn't have money to pay fighters. mma has evolved way past what it was in the pride era, in which doping was also rampant and fights were also fixed.
@tehFAO You should have learned by now that UFC doesn't co-promote -- for example, that's why the Fedor deal fell through.

Even if they train 8 hours a day 7 days a week, which they don't they usually train 5 days a week. but think about it this way the average income is only like 42k a year and most fighters will either fight 2 or 3 times a year and lets say they make 60k a fight thats almost 200k a year plus their bonuses for fighting and training which most people would do anyway, so its actually alot of money considering they would be doing it anyway.
actually depending on the quality of the fighter the ufc can be very generous. I remember Jason Lambert making 40-60k for his victory over Sobral which does not include sponsership money. Yes there are many younger up and coming fighters who do not get paid what they deserve but hopefully with the growth of the sport that will change.
Thats for the low-end fighters buddy. The upper echelon get paid a good amount of money. Consider a low-end pro or amateur boxer, they get paid didly squat
The low end fighters on ufc cards are top 20 or 30 in there division, boxers ranked around there make 10 times what ufc pay's. Consider pacqaou a 130 lbs boxer made 1.8 million in his last fight, thats more than the last 2 ufc events total payout!!!!!!!!!
Amateur boxers and mma fighters don't get paid.Some mma events hold amateur fights with same rules as pro events, but call them amateur fights so they don't have to pay the fighters.
the fighters get paid according to the revenue of the fight. boxing is televised on HBO making it more popular and you pay extra for the chanel. ufc is aired on regular cabel making less revenue. come on guys use your heads. also bxing has been popular alot longer so when it is on payperview alot of the older aduicences pay money for it. for example my dad would by a boxing match but wont even watch mma for free on tv

Think of it this way. Do you ask for a Kleenex or a tissue? The brand name isn't the product. This is the same thing, like it or not. Just make sure if you continue to point out this fact, which I also do on occasion, every once in awhile when someone asks for a Kleenex your reply should be, "Its a fucking tissue, Kleenex is a brand, when will you understand?" Which I've also done, on occasion. In other words get used to it. Sad but true.

... UFC should've never bought Pride F/C because there is no more competition. At both peaks of each business's careers, they produced some of the most classic and competitive fighters in the world. What should've happened was a gentlemen's agreement to a co-production event at the end of every year so we could have UFC vs. Pride fights.

pride imploded. management either siphoned off cash or they didn't earn enough. they seemed to have had good ticket sales, but must've had limited tv/ppv sales. at the end of the day, they didn't have money to pay fighters. mma has evolved way past what it was in the pride era, in which doping was also rampant and fights were also fixed.

Even if they train 8 hours a day 7 days a week, which they don't they usually train 5 days a week. but think about it this way the average income is only like 42k a year and most fighters will either fight 2 or 3 times a year and lets say they make 60k a fight thats almost 200k a year plus their bonuses for fighting and training which most people would do anyway, so its actually alot of money considering they would be doing it anyway.

actually depending on the quality of the fighter the ufc can be very generous. I remember Jason Lambert making 40-60k for his victory over Sobral which does not include sponsership money. Yes there are many younger up and coming fighters who do not get paid what they deserve but hopefully with the growth of the sport that will change.

The low end fighters on ufc cards are top 20 or 30 in there division, boxers ranked around there make 10 times what ufc pay's. Consider pacqaou a 130 lbs boxer made 1.8 million in his last fight, thats more than the last 2 ufc events total payout!!!!!!!!!

Amateur boxers and mma fighters don't get paid.Some mma events hold amateur fights with same rules as pro events, but call them amateur fights so they don't have to pay the fighters.

the fighters get paid according to the revenue of the fight. boxing is televised on HBO making it more popular and you pay extra for the chanel. ufc is aired on regular cabel making less revenue. come on guys use your heads. also bxing has been popular alot longer so when it is on payperview alot of the older aduicences pay money for it. for example my dad would by a boxing match but wont even watch mma for free on tv
