  • I watch alotta wwii movies and documentaries

    I wish I was there

even if i died I wish I was there it was the biggest moment in our history

  • I'll kill also that's more fun

  • I feel like the human population is beautiful when I hear this song.

  • Great Song. Both The Carpenters and Phil Alvin of "The Blasters" lived very close to each other in Downey, California. Could you imagine Karen and Phil singing "I'm Shakin" together.

  • Some ppl say cucumbers taste better pickled

  • this song brings me back to a time.......

  • bonita voz y una cancion bellisima que llega al alma y no hace reflexionar de cuan hermosa que es la vida

  • Life Hurts

  • @piecebypieceful But you have to be alive to expereience hurt.

  • She sang with no effort at all just talent baby !!!!!

  • 200 cox

  • Please eat something

  • @NYKID10014 Dog fightin man, u r a nad big time. Love to communicate with you but feel u r way beneef me,by by.

  • @NYKID10014 "Ignorance is bliss and so on...is it better to be thought dumb...shall I go on?" If you're really from NY, you know these lyrics. Take hate somewhere else.

  • I use to hate this song when I was a kid and my mother played it over and over. it took me 20 years to realize how beautiful this song is.

  • Karen Carpenter was my favorite singer in High School. She was very talented and has a very nice voice.

  • What a wonderful voice. So sad

  • My first record my parents bought for me, I played this record over and over.. LOVE IT!!!!

  • Her brother was such a good writer! He wrote all her songs I believe.

  • @plinkymist Actually Richard wrote only 2 or 3 of their hits. His talent was mainly as an arranger, performer, and background singer. One of the best things the Carpenters did was choose quality songs to perform and record. For some reason, people have gotten where they think musicians are only good if they write their own stuff. Not true at all.

  • They had one hit after another. As did ABBA. All the while we had Led Zep, Aerosmith, Stones, Skynrd, Bad Company, frankly, the list is way too ENDLESS to name them all... dam we were freaking lucky!!

  • I love the Carpenters!

  • Miss that voice and there never be another Karen Carpenter period and music out today sucks !!!

  • For some reason Karen Carpenter reminds me a lot of Judy Garland they both knew how to sing with phrasing everything.

  • THIS IS REAL TALENT...... I don´t need to say more... Karen nobody compares to you

  • Its a sad song about her depression, I feel helpless

  • Impossível não gostar de uma música de Karen.........

  • Karen Carpenter is the epitome of class and talent; she is dressed modestly; she doesn't feel the need to be provocative and inappropriate as some current pop and r&b stars do. THIS is music that she brings -- along with wholesome, feminine beauty.

  • @patrioticfromdayone and she had an awesome voice

  • How could someone dislike this song? My God! These 200 "no-likers" must not have souls. This is a masterpiece and as American as apple pie--and I don't care if you're old, young, black, white, gay, straight, polk-a-dot...this song is just a thing of beauty. Respect.

  • @jposh707 well said!!

  • @jposh707 those 200 no likers doesnt know anything about music. pure shit!

  • The 70's had great Love Songs!

  • Elvis P - best male voice ever. Karen - best female voice ever.

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • Thumbs up if your watching in 2012 :)

  • @Kingsleynz Um, what other year would we be watching it in? 3000?

  • There's so much warmth, soul, intelligence, and vulnerability in her voice.

  • @MrClipper23 indeed!

  • karen always fantastic, gg ski x

  • wow! what a great song , she was and still is the best voice ever, she must be leading heavens choir

  • Carpenters♥.! :))

  • Such a beautiful voice, who couldn't fall in love with this charming nightingale.

  • Heaven now has its finest angel.

  • WoW. Im speechless. So incredible!

  • This is the best performance of this classic song. Lets Karen use her tame voice w/o overdoing it.

  • I love when she sings "dooooown" in 2:03. She's voice is beautiful and slightly ignorant.

  • 200 people were born in the world surrounds with Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj

  • goodness gracious, what an impecable voice. this makes you Feel!

  • What a stylist! Original. Perfect pitch. She recorded some in one take! Wow! She actually was more proud of her drumming. Go figure!

  • Karen can easily pass off as George Harrison's sister. :)

I love you Karen, thank you for the music.

  • @ihp0ts That's an interesting observation. :)

  • Karen was an angel who came to make us happy and unfortunately left us!

  • An Angel

  • I loved this song ever by karen carpenters , i loved to listen this song when i was @ work it feels im relieved .

  • WHY ARE THERE DISLIKES ON THIS VIDEO

  • One of the best voices ever. But one thing I couldn't help noticing. That dress she's wearing is a far cry from platform slut boots, leotards and a face that looks like it fell onto a pile of makeup like you see now days.

  • no one will ever have a voice like hers. Karen truly was 1 in ten million! rest in peace Karen

  • Personally, the greatest female voice....ever......

  • my wife has the blues, and I e-mailed this to her at work... made her feel better. I dont know if it was because she realized I understand how she feels, or if it was like watching Jerry Springer, she just felt better knowing that someone else is bluer than her. Either way, it worked :)

  • Karen's singing is just mesmerising............

  • She's low maintenance to, she doesn't eat much! I know that plain bad.

  • @uprite88 Oh that was sooo mean! lol

  • She really was a great singer!!! :)

  • What a beautiful beauiful voice!

  • a voice made of silk.

  • The silencing of Karen Carpenter gets me down.

  • Raidy monday, todas las de camperter son maravillosas, te hacen soñar y olvidar, que voz tan hermosa.

  • Listening to this today on a rainy Monday. RIP Karen.

  • A great talent.

  • old song always soothes my heart

  • Thank you for that stoneyboy1970.I come here to listen to this beautiful music and read what other well educated smart people have to say.He should be ashamed of himself

  • Do me a favor. Please don't type nasty comments on videos like these. I can't show these great singers to my 9 year old daughter because of morons like you. Thanks for playing!

  • @stoneyboy1970 amen!

  • The smoothest set of vocals ever created...thanks for the gift you gave to world Karen..you are missed!

  • your an Ass sentafria. To young to die. very talented what a waste. thank goodness for the internet so we all can relive her wonderful voice

  • Karen's voice is like the best chocolate on Earth.

  • i like Tuesdays

    !

  • so sweet, yet so sad....a great voice was taken away.......

  • x factor produces this, better, over and over again. a medioca singer

  • @BIGAL6666alan So in your opinion X-Factor "produces" 4 octave voices like Karen's all the time, and does it better?! Then you proceed to call Karen a "medioca singer" (BTW it's spelt "mediocre")? Talk about making a fool of yourself! If only X-Factor actually had voices like that, then I'd actually have a strong reason to watch it instead of changing the channel. But sadly their "contestants" are nowhere near Karen Carpenter's vocal range or abilities, so I'm afraid I'll have to pass on it.

  • This is how I choose to remember Karen, sweet and so great. Her range was remarkable and there will simply never be another who can match her. The music world lost a true gem when she died and it never was the same afterward.

  • Such a strong voice!

  • Our sweet baby girl is gone.....

  • best vocalist female ever

  • The first time i ever heard the term"Eating Disorder" was after she passed away.I was really surprised so,much talent, heart and beauty..gone

  • The greatest female singer in pop music history..

She hated being up front and being the centre of attention. She only ever wanted to stay in the background and play drums, but when their management realised she had a voice from heaven she was forced against her well into taking centre stage.

    RIP Karen

  • @johnnyM809

    Wonderful comment ^_^

  • best voice in the "pop" era, hands down!!

  • Damn, that's not an easy song to sing. Betcha most pop stars today could not pull that off.

  • i hope i don't jinx it by saying that i'm having a great monday... touch wood, fingers crossed, there is spozed ta be a big storm heading thisaway O_O

good gravy i miss you karen

  • If angels sing, they would sound like Karen Carpenter.

  • My lord how sick she is, look at her cheeks! Still singing just like a professional should. poor girl:(

  • i love you Karen!

  • Feelings.... You can feel it.

  • @khamdoun Carpenter's are the number one depression music, but it's on my playlist and you can't beat Karen... She's awesome!

  • @uprite88 Yes, Karen brings it right on.

  • This is the best song if you ever feel alone and down just listen with a big smile and laugh at how blessed you are

  • hey who says you cant go back in time???? damn this song can bring you back to 1960's even though you are born in 1990's!

  • I love how the older singers used to actually dress up in nice clothes rather than wearing as little as possible!!! <3

  • @SimplyOverDone Yes, my imagination works well enough - I don't need encouragement!

  • Has anyone ever wondered if Karen kept a journal/diary? I'm just curious...

I've never heard anybody mention this and even Randy Schmidt doesn't mention it in his new book (which by the way, is the first & last bio on Karen that I'll ever need to read!).

  • Both super-talented......what a voice!

  • id bring back john lennon also

  • Her voice still brings tears to my eyes. One of the greatest voices ever. Rest in peace dear Lady, what a contribution you made.

  • Analog Recording, says it all, bye bye Digital Rec,,,, c ya

  • Karen Carpenter and Mama Cass Elliot dead at 32, two different eating disorders.

  • @mistressofaminer strange both felt unloved but in reality this is the opposite we all the fans love them. I wish they felt it and know it.

  • I love this song. I wish I could see karen Carpenter sing live but she died before I was born :(

  • i agree

  • The Carpenters had hits from when I was 10, and in all those years, I never saw a fat picture of her. I just don't understand anorexia. :(

  • @dvinedzine she never was fat, but she had a little baby fat, a little innocent chub, and someone unthinkingly refered to her as Richard's chubby sister. That was the beginning of the end. Also, anerexia isn't just about weight, it's about control, and Karen had almost no control in her life. Her parents, mainly her mother, controled her and favored Richard, due in no way to his own fault. He loved and adored Karen. It was a terrible loss!

  • @TheLovelySueEllen Yes, I think you're right, Sue. I can imagine it coming about that way.

  • FLAWLESS!

  • I always loved the lyrics of their songs...

  • LIFT AND SUPERMARKET MUSIC

  • @MrWhiteisright69 With all due respect, I must send a hearty fuck you in your direction. What have you accomplished?

  • You never get down.

  • golden voice, best female singer ever!

  • TRACK!!!!

  • my favourite singer of all time!!

  • Damn can she sing!

  • Why music can not be just like this, no weird costume, no background dance, no auto tune .WHY?

  • @nguyenming Yes, Lady GaGa compared to this does NOT compare!

  • @nguyenming

its called no talent my friend. |There are very few singer out today that can really sing like karen.

  • @mharkwilson No? It's because she worked hard on it. I hate how people use God to relieve themselves of all responsibility.

  • Her finest performance.

  • I agree with Superkolofantalismus to a point, Karen would be one, the other would be Jim Croce

  • Karen was amazing....I was devastated when she died. She was my first favorite musician, and when she died I wished so badly that her voice could be saved (transplanted to me....)

Thanks, Karen, for all your wonderful music....

  • @karent763 Karen was also my favorite singer when I was growing up. I had all of their albums and even saw them in concert. I wanted to look just like her. I thought she was beautiful and could sing like an angel.
