Excellent movie, nice air video clips, good music. I think there are too many creatures of prey in the world, so, the moments such as 3:29 are the symphony for my eyes and my soul!
wait i have some questions...i have 2 pigeons ones white and ones the one u always see-the gray one. and i think the white one is about to lay eggs. and i dont know how to take care of them!!!!! also, wat is pigeon racing? and wat is grit?
What is grit? Grit contains gastric grinding stones, silex-stones, oyster shells, sea shells, redstone and charcoal. Grit Ensures an optimal digestion and produces solid droppings. It is very important for pigeons health.
thanks! do u have to have that for them every day? how do u know if she is about to lay eggs? we have hay for them, but i dont want to put it in there yet because i dont want them to make it dirty...is that a bad idea? i dont think shes going to lay 2, i think shes just going to lay 1..shes also gotten very territorial lately. i dont know why
What is pigeon racing? Pigeon racing is a sport, it is like horse or greyhund racing. We take our pigeons and put them in baskets, and then we release them away from home. It can be from 5 km to 1300 km, and they have to go home as fast as they can. But that is not so simple, you have to prepare your pigeons for every flight. They have to be fit and strong and many times lucky if they want to return home. If you wish to find out more about this sport I will help you.
If she is going to lay eggs, you can put some hay or something else that is soft and do not collect moisture. When she lays both eggs you will have to wait 17 or 18 days for youngsters to hatch. Regulary change their water and keep them in a dry place. When they hatch you must watch youngsters everyday to be sure that they are growing well.
@azargirl we pigeon fanciers spend a lot of money for our birds and our loft's and we are not happy when one one of our best youngbirds/breeders get eaten by a hawk we dont have unlimited money and even if we did we would not be happy to loose birds because we love them
its the part of pigeon game it happens any where well i retire from these game i experience all of those things especially when my birds fly long distance my birds go home beat up very bad i dont call it a race it's a survival of the fittest
Sounds cruel, but when I was a kid and raced pigeons, I would grab hold of my best ones in my hands when I saw a hawk. The pigeon would see it an be aware of it. When I released it, the hawk had no chance in the chase, pigeons are so fast and agile at teh same time...but only when they are aware. It was great training for them. After a while, they became more calculating, they seemed to lose a good portion of their fear. It seemed as thought the became more confident. I dunno!
Pigeon55 first sorry I accidentally clicked on Remove on your post instead on a Reply. But what I wanted to say is that I saw a movie about racing pigeons when I was 7 years old, and in that movie you can see all racing pigeon problems during his flight. Falcons, hawks, cats, dogs, rats and weather.

I saw that so many times with my own pigeons, but I didn t have a camera at that time. Most important thing with this is luck.
I have some pigeons that were never hit by a falcon or hawk, but I have those that were hit several times and killed.
