I was accepted at VMI in 1964 but instead went to another school. Life's been good, but this parade reminded me of why I admired VMI and its traditions. An impressive moment to witness.

well to be honest this parade kinda sucked for everyone. we couldn't hear the cadence from our band in alpha company because of the Marching Utes in front of us. but you can see me in there which is amazing.

You all were AWESOME! to quote Mrs. Obama. Did you see all the thumbs up? Both the President and First Lady were so impressed and enthusiastic to see you all march. You made us all so proud and thank you for all your hard work. It showed. I watched the whole parade and by far you were the BEST. Yes, I am a very proud VMI parent. Rah! VMI

For our box lunch that we had on the bus going up there they gave us two pieces of bread with a slice of cheese between it.

Having marched was cool, but man that cheese sandwich really got to me.

I mean they didn't even throw in the microwave and called it grilled cheese.

You couldn't even taste the cheese.

And the cheese was much smaller than the piece of bread, so for a good 30% of it you're just eating bread.

19 hours spent sitting in bus and we get cheese-bread.

USMA was there too. They were actually at the beginning of the parade. There was a platoon of Cadets marching with the Army.
