Great camerawork and use of filters. Thin storyline, but the film itself looked great.
Would love to see you make another film that isn't so reliant on its quality of footage and concerntrate more so on the quality of the storyline, because you have a great eye for composition.
But I understand how fun HD can be when you have your hands on such a camera, you can't help but put it to use. 4/5
ive got frencham as my yr 11 media teacher aand hes great. the good thing about having him around is that being a teenager you dont get alot of adult actors around u so u have to use someone whos never acted but having him makes it alot easier and more professional.
AMAZING! Loved the film! The story was so delicate and beautiful (and CUTE), the cinematography was BEAUTIFUL and I just loved the acting as well. What program did you use to edit? What camera? Well done!!!!! P.S. ZOMG I WANT THAT TEDDY BEAR. :D
hey man, Byron here. That was amazing, i hope i can creat something as good as that in year 12. Simply beautfull. I will post my video soon- maybe you can give me some feedback.
that was really well done! congrats for making it to top screens - AND TOP CLASS! thought the face looked familiar in the film so i checked the top class program and i was right! we all LOVED your performance of the prizoner. HILARIOUS. good luck with top acts - i reckon you've got a good chance!
thats awesome! congrats! i hoped you'd get in! - actually i'm already going (i was in top class for theatre, and unfortunately didn't make it but atleast i get free tix to come see what will be a brilliant show!)
and about posting up top class/acts footage - are you sure thats ok to do that? i was thinking of it but didn't know if it was legal haha
Dunno if he's lined up for other episodes, have to wait and see. He did a scene with Cal Wilson - one of the recorded scenes in the style of a TV ad or interview they play back in between the live segments. He was great lol. I'll pass on your good wishes :)
I used a Canon HV20, shot in HD 25p with 'Cine Mode'. However, the look of the film really only came to fruition in post production with some serious colour grading in Final Cut Pro. In each scene there are three separately colour graded pieces of footage super-imposed on each other - maybe one to boost yellows and skin tone, another to bring out blues and greens and another for highlights and crushed blacks - basically to enhance colour and contrast.
thats my favorite camera! Since i can't afford it, i begged my school to get them for our media department, but our principle sucks. We are stuck using cameras from the early 90's. As soon as i get a job thats that first thing im buying!
I got the actor to walk off screen, then I just stood in the same position for a while after, until I called cut. Then I simply dissolved between the actor walking off and the footage of me from after his screen exit to give the illusion that he's fading away while I haven't moved in space or time. Really rudimentary technique - but effective.
WOW that was great (Y)
i hope my SAT will at least be half as good as yours

Hi Charlie,
I saw your film at the Top Screen when our school went to see it.
Any tips or things you would give for advice? I'm doing 3/4 media this year (:

Wow, how did you do the faded affect when the character walked away?
I'm looking at doing that for mine, the same sort of idea.... (:
