Simply brilliant...almost too good for tv. Williams, at the height of his composing prowess, produced some the his greatest scores for LIS. It's a pity that the Hollywood critics have never really realised this. I do so wish that someone interviews JW about his work for LIS before he departs this mortal coil. I first heard this superb music as a six year old...it has stayed in my heart ever since. Bravo, maestro.
From the episode "The Hungry Sea", this music bridge [reused often, in subsequent episodes] conveys what happened after the Robinsons (and Major West) survived an onslaught of tremendous heat [which even caused the Robot's "skin" to catch fire]. John Robinson, awakening first, revives each member of the family with a sip of water {"Slow, slow.."}. One of John Williams' finest television music cues...

Nearly 50 years later, I believe any fan of this show could hear just a snippet of any of these works and KNOW without a doubt it was unique to LIS.
