I don't know Herbie, this guy has some 90 videos posted, on engine work. He seems very qualified to do something as outrageous (to your mind) as applying an electric starter to a diesel engine.

Instead of posting insults, why don't you tell the world your views on such a practice. Why do you frown upon it?

I have never used anything other than electric start on my PAW 0.21.TBR. from new. By being sympathetic and not an idiot I can start it every time with no problem or engine damage!

Barbeque ignitor is the wrong fuel base. You must use kersosene instead.

A one third formula of,

kerosene,

ether

castor

works well for steel/iron engines as I assume the mk 16 is.

What really helps a lot is a cetane booster from Amsoil. Do a search. They will ship anywhere by parcel post, there is no Hazmat problem.

Only 2% of the Amsoil CETANE booster is needed but it works very well to smooth out the engine and also for easier starting.
