try the new taylors they are american made and sound and feel like it , not like chinese junk , even the gretchs are made in china sweat shops for profit.
I never liked ibanez much especially the fact that not made here in the US. But i have to admit i changed my mind yesterday at Strait Music here in Austin..pretty nice feel and tone and sustain all together
I was trying out guitars at a store the other day, and this was by far my favorite. Honestly, I preferred the feel and of this guitar over a Gretsch. Only problem, the Artcore I was playing had some buzzing going on with the low E string, so I would check into that before buying.
I use a Semi Hollow Ibanez most of the time, And, I have the whole gamut of Gibson, My main axe there is the L4, And LP. The whole gamut, This is my preference, The Ibanez.
@bonamusicproductions Ha ! ...your right ! ..you would think a company bragging about metheny , scofield , and benson { the butler ? ...or george ?} would keep the bloody guitar in tune ...not only that ...but i have heard better jazz tones at my local pub. Well spotted sir. ...{ actually , you couldnt miss it could you ! }
How about the upright bass? Now that is a full true traditional hollow body right there lol, I'd love to acquire that upright in the name of Ibanez. But I know it's not in their field to make bow instruments. haha
@PiratePandasFly These guitars are actaully great for rock. It's not a Gibson Les Paul but the humbuckers give it a nice, warm tone that's good for clean, lead guitar playing. I plugged it up to my Marshall and rocked away!
I personally believe a hollow/semi-hollow body guitar is always going to be better than a solid state guitar no matter what style you play, except maybe like death metal . . .
filteredwataaa i think what you where asking about wasn`t an effect, it was probably a jazz technique popularized by wes montgomery. its the root and its one step higher octave and when doing this you should probably turn down your tone knob and use your neck pickups. ex. 5th fret A string and 7th fret G string. hope you find the advise useful.
@filteredwataaa I not sure but i think is a chorus in a very low volume and a long frecuence rate and a tube screamer drive that is used alot with blues well i get that sound with that
I got the AJD91 and sounds really good!...looks awesome!
My main guitars are a RG and a Se2170 and I got this for jazz/rock but it sounds decent with full overdrive too..feels great and sounds great..if you come from a speed-machine like a RG or similar, this will make you change the way you play a little bit diferent ..more clean approach, that is a good thing!
The Ibanez AS93 Artcore semiacoustic guitar has got to be the best ever semi acoustic!!! I have owned one for a couple of years and have never looked back.
They are between a Gibson and Fender scale. 24(something) . I like them, but I had a great Craigslist deal on a Epiphone Broadway and I went that direction. I'm a 6'6'' twohundred and plenty pounder, and I wanted the bigger box anyway.
They got every other detail so right that you figure they must have done it purpose. Maybe they wanted a cheezy logo to keep the bargain Artcore's from competing with the more upscale Artist series or something.
I got one of the cheaper artcores with the tone block as my first guitar and it's amazing. I have a strat, les paul, and an Ibanez EGEN and the artcore is atleast as stable tuning wise as the non-Ibanez guitars and has a usable unique flavor.
@camerooniepooniepoo Do you know how much a Rickenbacker guitar costs? They don't even list the prices on MusiciansFriend. They just say to call for the price.
Beautiful guitars. Right now I'm playing chord melody solo guitar with a strat, and its doing just fine but I would love a hollowbody to truly get the tone I'm after. I got my eyes on the Ibanez AF75TDG, the last white one they showed. Someday!
i bought a AS83 (discontunied but looks like AS93) semi hollow guitar on ebay for 257 dollars. used but doesnt look bad and is clean =]. get it sept 2- sept 9.
It's a very nice guitar, much better than any of the other Ibanez guitars. The guitar is lovely, but you've got to remember, it's still a budget guitar.
hahhahah they have the same monitors as I do.. quested vh(vs)2108
how do ibanez guitars sound? are they any match for the gibson's stuff? and yeah is there a ibanez "replica" or "omage" to the es175? (I wanna buy me one of those, but don't have quite that much money)
can't believe it.. I'm about to buy a gibson tal farlow for 2k euros.. but I'm still likeing the af125 which goes around 1k euros.. didn't try it just heard it on youtube, so that's a problem.. and the tar farlow is the guitar of my favorite jazz musitian here, so I know how it sound without even trying it.. but I have an opportunity to try it anyway.. so I'm a little torn now.. which should I buy? I'm looking for a good jazzbox..
Less than 30 minuets later It was mine. I went back and looked at the Gibson five times and was talked in to it. I love Gibson stuff . Now you pay a lot just for the name and history. Ibanez you just pay for a great sounding guitar. Let me know what you do.
I bought the black strat style one when they first came out.I paid about $500 for it with case and the damn thing rocks!!Ive used it to play metal and blues with no problems!Just tweak the amp and your good to go!Great guitars!5stars!
I'm not Really a blues guitarist, I'm more into Beatles and classic rock, do you think this type of guitar will suit me, I'm considering getting one, I play a normal Acoustic at the moment but have had my rock moments on my strat. The Artcore's are beautiful guitars.

if I take a semi-acoustic guitar and just record the sound from the pickups, would that sound any different from the sound of any electric guitar?
VinylIsForever 11 months ago
@VinylIsForever it would because the density of the wood is different from a solid body giving it a "hollow" sound more acoustic sounding

the solid bodies you can play anything from metal to grunge to classic rock and beyond
the hollow bodies are great for jazz, blues, and some rock
