  • Love you Shai. Praise God for your parents, your talent, and voice for preaching...not to mention your lovely sister whom I was able to peep out by His grace haha. Beautiful message delivered. I like It

    Thank you

    -Gunngho

  • I sat down an re-watched this video tonight. I can see why I kept it at the top of my favourites. WOW, is right. If today’s preachers all spoke the Truth like this, think of how people's lives would be changed, as they repented and came to Christ. Right on, and love you Brother Shai.

  • This was amazing. Totally blessed me.

  • epic

  • Everything shai linne said is a fact from Scripture. Arguing Calvinism is ignorant and creating dissention amongst the brethren and thats against Scripturual commandments.

  • Psalm 119:9-11 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you

  • (cont)Sin may be inherent in the flesh as Paul states later, but we wrestle and put to death the misdeeds of the flesh by His Holy Spirit that resides in us. Christians are no longer held bondage to deaths penalties. Unbelievers are.

  • (cont)There is none that is good, no not one". With that in mind if believers werent predestined to believe there wouldnt any be saved. Christians being "dead to sins", doesnt mean they never sin. It means they are no longer condemned because of the Blood Jesus shed on Cavalry. Because we believe and OBEY His commands we have true freedom from sins bondage to man. (cont)

  • First, yes unbelievers are spiritually dead. Paul also writes that "Satan blinds the minds of those who believe not". Also Paul states "Satan holds mankind captivity through there fear of death". With that in mind you see why Jesus had to choose us and us not choose Him. For it is also written by Paul "There is none who believe, no not one. (cont)

  • Question for anyone...When Paul writes that unbelievers are spiritually dead Reformed believers say that that proves that unbelievers cannot choose Christ but Christ chooses them. That's fine, but Paul also writes that believers are "dead to sin". How then do Christians still choose to sin? Does that show that still being "dead" to something doesn't imply that a choice cannot be made? Looking for godly dialogue not a sword fight. Much love. Grace & peace.

  • Preach on brother!

  • Where can you get that shirt?

  • @iBuehler94 lampmode website bruh

  • AWESOME, AND SUBBED! PRAISE JESUS AND THE FATHER FOR YOU! ;-O

  • have you eating grass. you can bet He's a-mazing. He takes in blatant flagrant vagrant "breathlessly" makes them and shapes them to hate sin. Jesus, there's no better name, that will never change, and He'll forever reign while we spread His fame. //All praise to the name of the Savior who reigns. He's taken our blame, embraced all our shame. He's raised from the grave so His fame we proclaim. Salvation by grace through faith in His name//

  • Lord of all continents, source of all consciousness. His compliments are the consequence of his accomplishments. Every sphere of life He's the Lord of it, and every other power is either fraudulent or subordinate. At first we snubbed Him, now his vessels of mercy love Him. Your highest thought is infinitely unworthy of Him. Beyond vocabulary, His actions bury, His wrath is scary, all His adversaries are imaginary. He has no competitors, ask Nebuchadnezzar bruh, He'll mess you up.

  • Jesus, the beautiful and blessed son. Immutable, majestic one. Who was resurrected from the grave. For the depraved He paid the path for some. Place faith in his passion son, be saved from the wrath to come. He's fabulous, his status is immaculate, I'm lacking the vernacular to adequately capture His glory. Incomparable, unconquerable, all-powerful, unstoppable, absolutely phenomenal. No obstacle he can't navigate, He's God and so he fascinates, with him is impossible to exaggerate.

  • Amen! That intro was immense!!!

You canNOT exaggerate the Glory of God!!! Amen! That was bangin'!

  • AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

  • a tremendous blessing. that is exactly how rap should be used, to get peoples attention and pave the way for evangelism.

  • a tremendous blessing. that is exactly how rap should be used, to get peoples attention and pave the way for evangelism. I

  • Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. You, who led me as an unbeliever, to a believer. You God! You are Everyone's Savior! You are faithful to me, even if I am unfaithful to You. I have Seen You! I have felt your unconditional and perfect love. Because of your Love and Sacrifice, I have no choice but to live Holy.

  • @stegokitty

    @coolvideo28

  • the world does not prefer people enough. first priority for this world is respect for human life.

  • I hope that this video gets emailed to as many people as possible. Wow, shai linne is incredible. But then again, he serves an incredible God, revealed in Jesus Christ. This is the message that all the lost and unsaved people need to hear, and take to heart before judgement.

  • Let the people of God say Amen. Hot as Cayenne Pepper! When I listened to secular Rap/Hip Hop, lyrics were important. Now to hear it in this format, bananas! The gospel being preached to you-(us) in faith, with truth behind it, man, I can't get enough!

  • awesome!!!

  • when are they gonna let cats like this on 106&park? God is usin Shai in a huge way praise be to God!!!

  • Thank you my brother. Keep on teaching, His truth through you, lost souls brought back again. His Spirit upon you, continually, to His glory. LuvyaJoeD!

  • wow!!! this is Huge!! but God is hugerer! lol love this, what a humbling experience! he is more than we can comprehend or deserve! Praise be to the God most high!!

  • i think Shai does a great job

  • Jesus is the answer!!!!

hey dude what are your thoughts on your hair?

  • Hahahahahaha that's sick!

  • Shai Linne strait rebuked the crowd. LOL My man

  • @b menendez... Sounds like your hating ! its all right we all love you, and are gonna pray the lord works with your heart !

  • God can use anybody to proclaim his truth. Shai's doctrine is flawless, and the Lord has blessed him; a speaker of God's word.

  • If ya man B.Menendez chooses to spit venom on this thread... so be it! In the USA, he's given his GOD given right to vehemently disagree with the gospel of Christ but hopefully he will not be in that state b4 GOD claims his life on this side of the grave bcuz being at the White Throne of Judgment will be the absolute wrong time to repent then!!!

  • WOW

  • Amazing talent, God can use every single one of us the same way.

    God Bless =)

  • Thats some crap dude. If you werent gonna say something good why did you comment or even peep the video punk? Your the dork if you ask me lol

  • if u dont like listening to the Gospel in the rap, then listen the straight forward Gospel after the spoken word.

  • @brianmenendez - Would you happen to have any Scriptural support for such a claim that "Jesus hates black people"?

  • This is awsome just Awsome. JESUS is Lord of all. He died for You, for all

    Invite Jesus in

  • @coolvideo28 - While it's a good thing to desire to proclaim the good news, it's not a good thing to say that which the Scriptures do not say. I'm not trying to be mean or condescending, but the Bible doesn't teach that Jesus suffered and died for every individual, neither is the brother in this video saying that. He's saying that everyone who trusts in Christ shall be saved. We are nowhere told to say to people "Jesus died for you", because we don't know if that's true or not.

  • @stegokitty Lets let the Bible Gods living word speak for itself shall we.

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.1 Timothy 4:10

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 1 John 4:14

  • @coolvideo28 - So you're suggesting that when the Bible says "whole world" it means every individual? Before I get into the impossiblity of this, I'll ask you this: Did Jesus die for the sins of Pharaoh -- the Egyptian emperor who faced up against Moses? If so, why would He do such a thing knowing it would do him no good? For that matter, since God is omniscient, knowing all things, past, present, and future, and knowing that certain people will not believe, why would Christ die for them?

  • @stegokitty Obviously You have Choosen to decide You are smarter then God. I showed You 3 verses that prove that God Jesus Christ died for all including 1 tim 4:10 that says ALL MEN what are you not understanding about that? God died For ALL. He also gives everyone a Choice to Get born again give there life to Jesus Christ & recieve eternity in Heaven or Do anything else & spend eternity in hell. Everyone can be saved but You can also Choose to go to hell. You have decided Not to believe God

  • @coolvideo28 - On the contrary. I choose to interpret the Scriptures in light of their context. Notice how you didn't address the issues I posed to you at all, but instead fell back on emotionalism.

God doesn't give anyone a "chance" at salvation. God saves sinners!

A person, as described in the Word of God as being an enemy of God, a lover of self and of sin, opposed to righteousness, blind, enslaved to Satan, etc., will NEVER of his own accord choose Christ, whom he finds offensive.

  • @stegokitty I Proved to U without a shadow of a doubt with 3 verses that God cleary Died for everyone on earth & U chose 2 ignore God & believe the lies U have been taught or come to believe Iam guessing Calvinism. I tried 2 Just show U Gods word. If U dont want to believe God then thats Your Choice just like the " Egyptian emperor who faced up against Moses" ignored God ut Jesus still died 4 him & YOU. I care about you so I boldy proclaim the truth God bless I wil pray for You

  • @coolvideo28 - You did nothing of the sort. You ripped a verse from its context and insisted it meant what it didn't mean. I challenged you to rethink it, based on the use of the words therein, from the rest of Scripture. You failed to address that issue. And of course, instead of admitting that what you're doing is simply aping what you've been taught, you try and throw that silliness onto me. How nice. Please try and behave as an adult, and answer the questions I asked you.

  • @stegokitty Please explain to me how Iam taking this verse out of context & how your Not calling God a Liar by staiting that he didnt die for everyone? Which is the exact oposite of what God says in this verse.

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1 Timothy 4:10 (King James Version)

  • @coolvideo28 - Answer the question I posed to you, and you'll beging to understand.

The verse says Christ IS the Saviour of those who believe. He is NOT the Saviour, nor the POTENTIAL Saviour of anyone else.

Those who believe were ORDAINED to believe:

"And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed" (Acts 13:48)

Again, please answer the questions I posed to you.

  • @stegokitty Iam glad to answere any question You have but Please answere my question then You can ask any question you wish. Ignoring my question & changing the subject isnt helping either of us. Iam completly addressing your statment in the 1st comment You sent me it said "Bible doesn't teach that Jesus suffered and died for every individual," So please dont run from the question, just answere it then after we discuss it You can ask as many questions as you want.

  • @coolvideo28 - I assure you I'll not run from anything you ask. In order to answer your question, you must understand why I said it. I asked you if every time the word "world" or "all men" in the Bible, does it mean every single individual. I know for a fact that it almost never means that. And the problems caused by using that sort of interpretive mode are monstrous, and actually make Christ the saviour of none. I believe that GOD saves sinners, not that God helps sinners to save themselves.

  • @stegokitty How are you gonna say, that when it says all men, or the world. that it means anything but what it says.? loll

  • @auron23 - Just a few examples: (1)In John 12:19 the Pharisees said "The whole world has gone after him (Jesus)." But that's obviously not true. They hadn't gone after Him. And the people in other nations, even the NEAR nations hadn't gone after Him, because they hadn't even heard of Him. (2) "All over the world this Gospe is bearing fruit" (Col1:6). Really? All over rthe world? Even in the Americas and in China and the other places that the Apostles hadn't been to yet?

    And I've lots more.

  • Shai gives a strong doctrinally sound imprint of the "gospel" of Jesus the Christ! It is imperative that individuals understand that "Salvation" is instantaneous while "Justification" is a life-long process. Fruit bearing is critical, yet only GOD (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) truly knows who are HIS! Therefore, there's a difference between a "believer in/of Christ" and a "Disciple in Christ".

  • Now this is the true Gospel preached. That's right young blood; do the work of an evangelist!

See, T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, and the like, could NEVER PREACH THIS MESSAGE.

  • word!

  • I may not be a good example of a christian. But this helps motivate me to change...

  • sent shivers down my spine! So good!

  • Amen

  • So, as it was said we want to live life the way of the World. We think, even as (Dan 7:25). However, we DO NOT BELIEVE The SOVEREIGN LORDJESUS(Matt 24:35. Mark 13:31. Luke 21:33.). We know NOTHING of Prophecy, yet KNOW The TRUTH when we hear it and warn not the people(Ezekiel 3:17-22. Ezekiel 33.) Still they persist in making LORDJESUS a liar. (Matt 12:8. Mark 2:28. Luke 6:5. Hebrews 13:8.) Alo, see:LAW or GRACE on home page.

Even so, come quickly, SOVEREIGNFATHERJESUSLORDGODALMIGHTY. Selah.

  • What is name of this song? please tell me someone

  • That kind of thinking is what I'm against. The only reason I'm against it is because it is not biblical. And I challenge anyone to find God electing in the Holy Bible.

  • romans 9:10-end and the only reason people will believe is because the spirit gives conviction and if Jesus died for everyone and not everyone go's to heaven the ur saying Jesus failed on the cross....

  • All people won't go to heaven, but that doesn't

mean that failed on the cross

  • you are right. there was absolutely no failure on the cross. the cross was intended to bring glory to the Triune God by saving the sheep that the Father gave to Jesus, to lay down His life for. Glory be to God!

  • Are you saying election isn't in the Bible?

    Individuals to salvation Psa 65:4; Mat 24:24; John 6:37; John 15:16; Act 13:48; Rom 8:28-30; Rom 9:10-24; Rom 11:5-7; Eph 1:3-6; Eph 1:11-12; 1The 1:4; 1The 5:9; 2The 2:13-14

  • brother. I have a question, do you believe in double predestination or predestination?

  • I do not believe in double predestination.

  • Oops, just deleted comment by accident. Read Rom 8:29-30. Salvation is a primary issue, and I wouldn't say that predestination is a secondary issue, but is an important part to understand the doctrine of salvation. Salvation = justification -> sanctification -> glorification which are sequential and necessary. You can't have only 1 or two components but not all 3; you can't be truly justified and then go to hell. 1 John 2:19 -- those who appear to "lose their salvation" were never really saved

  • i would disagree with you, i think we can say the doctrine of predestination is a secondary issue. it has it's place as far as doctrine is concerned and will probably forever be disputed by the two camps. the primary issue is that God has provided salvation and has given an invitation to all mankind (who so ever will). people can argue all they want the particulars of predestination. you would be hard pressed to say that either side would forfeit this great salvation for the view they hold to.

  • Predestination is not even an issue because it is not biblical. You're telling me that the righteous and loving God whom we serve is just going to pick whoever He wants to be with Him for eternity, righteous or not. WOW! Then we must not be serving the same God.

"If anyone thirst, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in me... out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." John 7: 37,38

  • he's a great rapper and he uses his talent for the best reason of all but, is he a pre-destinationist?

  • depends what you mean... or your understanding of that term. The Bible says that salvation is (pre)determined by God. We don't choose Him, but He chooses those whom He chooses. Romans 9

  • that verse doesn't talk about God's choosing everyone. if you want we can discuss this more privately. Matt 22:14 many are called but few are chosen. man on his own is unable to choose God unless God quickens his heart by the Holy Spirit. those who believe that they can "choose" God on their own, tend to believe that they can "lose" their salvation, which contradicts Philippians 1:6

  • yeah... i actually do.

  • why would you even focus on whether he's a pre-destinationist or what his particular view point may be, and not focus on the the gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ going forward to the lost and dying? isn't all that stuff secondary, especially in gray areas? and doesn't focusing on these minuscule areas divide us as believers and divert our attention away from our true purpose which is to reach the lost and unsaved in world filled with schemes and gimmicks to keep them blind to the gospel

  • well, i love this guy(no homo) and the fact that he uses his skills for this purpose as i have said and i do not focus on whether he is a pre-destinationist or not. it's just that those people think that God picks who ever he wants to save, no matter what you do. so a serial killer could get into heaven and not Moses (for example). i was just curious. but the message he preaches is Bible based so.....

  • the bottom line is that we know that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 pet. 3:9 And brother i'm not trying to pick on you, but you can't make a comparison between Moses and a serial killer, because biblically there are no differences between them. all have sinned, and both are sinners. Christ died for all. Paul the apostle said he was the chief of sinners. 1 tim 1:15. God desires all to be saved. "who so ever will" can come be saved.

  • THANK YOU for that last part! Finally someone with good sense to know that you have to work to get to Heaven. And yeah, you are right everyone does is a sin. But, Moses repented for his sins, did he not? and I'm talking about a serial killer who does not repent or care for the word of God. A pre-destinationist would say that God could pick that killer instead of Moses. In other words, they are saying that it doesn't matter whether you live like God wants or not, getting to heaven is chance.

  • seriously bro, you must not have read my comment right. i'm not even on the page of God picking and choosing anyone. my point is, scripturally everyone has the opportunity to repent and be saved, even that serial killer. once again God has offered his great salvation to "who so ever will" let him come. and we are definitely not on the same page if you believe anyone can work their way to heaven. Eph 2:8-9, Gal 2:16

  • Yeah yeah... my bad. Those comments weren't directed to you. Sorry about that. But yeah i agree 100% with you. But salvation isn't through faith alone, but also works. You can not go to heaven with works and not faith in vice versa.

  • i'll put it like this, we don't work to get saved, we work because we are saved. Eph 2:10

  • Aaaahhh... yeah. True that brother. 100% correct.

  • read galatians justification through faith alone

  • Your saying justification, I'm saying salvation. You can't get SAVED just by faith but also works. Faith through works and works through faith. How can you tell someone you truly believe in God and be a drug dealer. At the same time, how can you do something for God and not have faith in Him?

  • fathaitian I think you are confusing terminology. We are not saved by anything by works, which is why it is grace. I think what you mean is that the faith that saves moves. When a person is born again, they obey the Word and turn in repentance 2 Cor 5:17.

  • I've been thinking about Calvinism and Arminianism and election vs. free will and I've come to the conclusion that as long as one exalts Christ in word and deed and speaks of his glorious forgiveness before the brethren and the lost, they're fine. Secondary issues are just that, secondary. I love this guys rapping, too.

  • Solid... praise God for Shai Linne

  • Lovely

  • thats from tim's verse at the beginning.....shai is a beast, he might be my favorite rapper........

  • all in His love 1

  • Representing Christ through hip hop from Hong Kong - get at me for collabs and features

    one love - Christ Jesus!

    youtube . com / jaerichmic

  • As an old man, once I get past my preconceived prejudices towards rap or hip hop, I find the message much like any great sermon I've heard from Piper, or even Spurgeon. Shai has a very powerful gospel message that I certainly needed to hear.

  • Right on I can Co-sign with you on that.

  • THATS THE GOSPEL PURE AND PLAIN!!!!

  • AMEN!

    5 stars!

  • Comment removed

  • I think Christian Hip Hop specifically Reformed Hip Hop has surpassed "secular" hip hop lyrically. I think secular hip hop has lost it's vocabulary and is recycling the same words, i.e. "crunk with drunk"

  • Yoyes! One thing that people wouldnt antecipate is that God's testimony today would be handled in part by a outcast culture [dont get me wrong]. It seems to me that the Galillean, whose village "could not bear anything good", likes to rise his words from other galilleans.

  • "Reformed Hip Hop" lol never thought of that but it pretty much wraps up everything within "Holy Hip Hop" that i'm comfortable vouchin for, cuz the vast majority of the movement is bringing things to the table that theologically make me Cringe, except for those who i can probably make an educated guess to whom you're referring to as "Reformed hip hop" (116, cmr, lamp mode and the like lol) but yes i agree and have for some time now that lyrically the secular music has been surpassed talent-wise

  • shai is incredible if you don't have his albums buy them .. if you can't afford them.. msg me ill buy them for you..

  • wow! thats awesome!

  • LOL...you would go broke because just about everyone should be trying to get this....i'm looking to get them soon....i've read his lyrics on his lyrical theology blog spot and i'm impressed with EVERY VERSE....

  • Finally....Pure Truth being proclaimed. My heart needed to hear this today. Praise God!!!

  • I love hearing the Gospel proclaimed! To God be all the Glory!

  • Heaven yea! I've been real lax in my Christian walk latley and this video was on the main page of you tube. Can anyone say Divine apointment! It woke me up, time to live 4 God again and to stop spitting on his free gift!!!!

  • Hit me up at biblicalhiphop.blogspot. com

just move the com back one space. Free download links for dope Theologically sound Hip Hop

  • this dude knows his stuff!!!!

he is blessed with this great talent!!!

    all i can say is,

    keep it up shai linne!!!!!!

  • Dude! this is sick! God is so good! God is so faithful!

  • He preaches like Paul Washer. Love it! I did not exepect him to preach like that! wow!

  • How could any Reformed Christian say that this isn't from God?

    Preaching of the true gospel...

  • Soli Deo Gloria!

  • wow that is AWSOME! hope u keep doin wat your doing!

  • AMEN!!

Matthew 3:8 -- Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.

Keep preaching the Word in season and out of season guys... Jesus will weigh every heart at the end, despite all the blabber and opinions being put against your ministry, and music. MAKE DISCIPLES!!! (Matt 28:19-20)

  • Praise God! Amen !!

  • The Lord is raising young men to proclaim His Truth. To God be The Glory, forever and ever, amen.

  • AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN!

  • Amen and Amen!

Thank you for the awesome message and video!

  • A musicianary and a great example...praise God for men like this willing to stand up for the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

  • I wish more Christian artists were this articulate with the Biblical Gospel I think I could start believing in the Christian Music industry again.

  • AWESOME Praise God!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder if those lights can be a distraction then why use them?....if not needed...

  • Because EVERYTHING can be a distraction, including even the people God sends to preach His word... if our hearts are not careful.

Even Paul in his Epistles would frequently have to tell the churches not to focus on Him, or the instruments God is using, BUT to focus on Christ.. the only one who saved them, not Paul or Apollo, or any other apostle (ie. 1 Cor 1:12-13)

    Be blessed.

  • Redeemed Rap! I love it.

You can really get a lot of content into one song when your medium is rap!

  • God used:

    Moses a murderer

    Rehab a prostitute

    Balaam's Donkey

    David an Adulterer

and of all people me, a sinner saved by grace.

The list is endless, and in this day he chooses to use a group of young men and women

who love Jesus and seek to share the gospel, in the power of the Holy Spirit as Paul said in 1 Cor 9:22-23...I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel....

  • God,

I pray for all who denounce these young men of God. May you reveal to those who oppose their evangelistic methods know that you are sovereign, and that just as in Your word you continue today to use people that others have snubbed.

  • If it's weighty, that means it's a real cross! Praise God!

  • Wow.... what a pure presentation of the gospel. May God continue to use these reformed rappers to make disciples of men!

  • Love it... So good to hear the gospel actually preached.

  • Wow! This man is proclaiming the gospel better than any PASTOR I have ever heard. Truly. King David was a poet. How is this any different?

  • Amen brother! Such a Biblical Gospel message.

  • Amen!

To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever!

  • Jesus Christ is the rock, we worship the rock, good video

  • Amazing how "Christians" could actually support these knock-off hip-hoppers just because they mention Jesus here and there! The Bible is CRYSTAL CLEAR about mixing the holy with the profane! It reminds me of the verse: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

    Hosea 4:6

  • Please explain specifically what is profane in this video.

  • When I speak of mixing the holy with the profane I speak of this "holy" hip hop movement in general! They believe that by using methodologies/gimmicks/crafty rhymes etc they can ATTRACT people to Christ! Consequently, they mix the profane (hip-hop), and put a spin on it calling it "holy!" Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

    Isaiah 5:20

  • Although we must be discerning for false prophets, if you listen, this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ being preached in its barest form. God is working in certain areas of the world,in this case through reformed rappers, in such a way that we cannot imagine. So please do not undo the work of the Spirit with your words. you must be cautious when you tear down others like you are. "When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise." Test what he is saying to Scripture

  • The true test is not wether he's speaking the truth through scripture! The enemy knows the word better than you AND me combined! The question is are we being OBEDIENT to the word. If we're NOT, then you can be sure our words will have absolutely NO impact spiritually. We can scream, shout, dance, gyrate, spin, and hop around all we want. It doesn't mean the Lord is using our devices!

  • "And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, THESE MEN ARE THE SERVANTS OF THE MOST HIGH GOD, WHICH SHOW UNTO US THE WAY OF SALVATION! And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour."

    Acts 16:16-18

  • You see, this spirit possessed girl was speaking the truth! Yet, it doesn't mean she was sent by God or that he was speaking through her, amen?

  • Here's the difference; satan doesn't proclaim it, he only twists it. shai preaches the pure gospel.

I truly appreciate your desire to be holy! But please consider the context and authorial intent of the scripture you're citing. Don't make it fit your own presuppositions, take it from a unbiased angle.

Also, if a tribe in africa converts and uses drums in their worship services, is that a problem? Make sure you widen your perspective. Think - every genre has negative connotations. Redeem!

  • To answer your hypothetical "tribe converting and using drums being a problem." It may or may not be. It all depends what they associated drums with in the past. If they associated drums to pagan worship and demonic rituals i'm sure God would give them discernment and they wouldn't use them. Hip-hop is associated to pride, love of self, love of material things, lust of the flesh, etc. A mature Christian WILL eventually use discernment and put this filth far away from him!

  • Every single genre of music can be associated with negative things. It doesn't matter what its been associated with in the past. You say that shai linne's music is "filth". His lyrics are loaded with theology and are Christ-centric - its all about the gospel- stronger than most of the hymns sing in you in church. so what exactly makes it filth? is it the noise that you didn't grow up around?

"Worldliness isn't doing what the world does, its doing what the world does the way the world does it."

  • I would like to know any genre that there isn't any sinful influence.

    Phil 1:15-18

  • The question is not which genre isn't sinful. The question is are we willing to obey His word?

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

    1 Thess. 5:22

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

    1 john 2:15

  • Re: 1 Thess. 5:22, i totally agree, but i think your presupposition is that rap is inherently evil, and you havent proven this. Rap as a framework is good, it just depends on what lyrics goes on this framework.

Re: 1 john 2:15, great passage, but 'world' is further explained later on as the lust of the eyes and flesh and pride in possessions, none of which are promoted here.

The overwhelming action here is Christ being glorified, not rap, not shai linne, but the gospel. Give praise to God.

  • Where did you get that straw man that I presupposed that rap is inherently evil? YOU presupposed that not me. We all know that this brotha is not just a rapper. He's a supporter of the hip-hop movement called "holy." IF that's the case, then we clearly see where the enemy blurs the line between profane and holy!

"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

    James 4:4

  • wow if you can really watch that whole video clip and say "we should abstain from all appearance of evil" referring to this video I don't know what to say

what about this seems evil to you?

  • Again, I am not talking precisely of this video, but in GENERAL of this brotha's movement, and ANY like him that can tell me with a straight face that God is using the "holy" hip-hop movement!

  • I really understand that you are trying to make your point about the 'holy' movement. But can you please specify what is sinful/worldly about what they do with specific examples and scripture reference.

  • Sure thing! Being that this comment thing is limited I will send you MAD verses!

    Peace

  • Hi, Could you send me "MAD verses" too about this guys' use of a "worldy" medium that "not bearing fruit of being OBEDIENT to God".

I'm also very interested to see which forms of worship/ genre/ music you listen to and believe "abstain from all appearance of evil".

    In Christ, thanks!

  • God is using the movement. *straight face* that's where i first came to understand that this Christian thing is a LIFESTYLE. Flame's album -Rewind. I understood the gospel for the first time. I got saved after repenting and trusting in Christ.

Sidenote: The meaning of holy is not sinlessness alone. That's a small part. Holy means transendently 'other', foreign to this world. We're call to be holy- hence holy hip hop.

  • so true
