  • the preset isn't availible at all -.-

  • Look up Paul Wardingham's "Assimilate Regenerate". He uses this and it sounds AMAZING (plus, you'll love him if you're into progressive space shred melodic metal)

  • @frindle8 great! also search for "chimp spanner", same there

  • heyy ive just got my hands on SD metal foundry and ive heard there is a Gene Hoglan kit that i just cant find anywhere in the prgram...ive heard i will have to upgrade to 2.1 is that true?

  • @MrAdammassacre just do the upgrade and you will see?

  • I currently have ez drummer with lots of expansions and im thinking about bying this one. My Questions:

    >Does it really sound better than the ezdrummer? Cause to me it sounds worse.

I mean they've added lots of effects lik eq s compressors etc. , but that's not how i like to get a good sound! I want the original samples to be good.

    >Can you load an ezdrummer kit in superior drummer and use it like before?

    >Is it worth buying if i don't need the effects and i don't use the ready grooves library?

  • @riqyl32 1. the sound is way better, better audioquality, more samples for each drum

    2. of course you can play without effects, then you have a more natural set, other than in ezd

    3. yes you can load a ezd kit into the superior drummer (as I know, didn't do that yet)

4.when you don't need the sounds why than buy sd 2.0 ?! get an idea of the sound on the toontrack.cm homepage ;)

  • @Amorphous333 Thanks a lot for the reply, it is really helpful !

As for my 4th question, what i meant was that i write the drums my self, note for note, i don't use those ready drag n' drop grooves it offers. So what i really care about is the actual sound of the drums.

But from what you said it seems that the sound is good, so it must be worth buying...

  • @riqyl32 oh now I understand, but there is no groove library with the software .. the main thing about it is the sound, esspecially the variety of samples for each drum (>50GB with SD2.0 + metal foundry) its amazing and you won't get this anywhere else .. the effects are a little extra offer, quite usefull if you know how to use them

  • @Amorphous333 Nuff said. I'm buying this one. Thanks!

  • @riqyl32 dude just get addictive drums, it's the best one out there. At least for me it's the best one.

  • @radulica You know, at first i thought that what i wanted was the complete studio experience. Selecting the drums, the mics, setting everything up, tweaking stuff till i get what i want, then mixing all that... Then i got myself addictive drums. I was recording a progressive rock song at the time and i wanted a sound between king crimson and red hot chilli peppers. I managed to get there but it took me almost a week ! (crazy). So i'm looking for something good and simple now idk ...

  • great job

  • This SDX is VERY GOOD, an IS NOT just limited to METAL I think this covers EVERYTHING ROCK... just made a Ludwig Bonham Kit that sounds awesome and a Genesis/Phil Collins Drum kit that works very well... Truly great for EVERYTHING Rock, Pop, Blues.. even Jazz, Country...

  • do you need to but superior drummer first and get this as pack, or will ir run on its own?

  • @BOBBYGITRPLYR first superior drummer, then the metal foundry

  • gbdahfbrebg,re

  • Works well with FL studio 9, not 10 though :( but least I have 9 :D

  • you know what's cool :3. you can add your own lyrics to these if you felt like it and see how it goes haha xD

  • Dude please help me out. I just bought Superior Drummer 2.0 and The Metal Foundry. I installed them both but I can't get The Metal Foundry to open within Superior Drummer. I installed all 5 discs and when they finish loading it says some shit like "This is the wrong disc... insert Disc 5" Some bullshit. And of course Toontrack has no contact other that Online Support and they do not reply. Please help me out dude! I'm on a PC and I use FL Studio 10. Thanks

  • @jalonhall 1st option would be to uninstall all of it Superior Drummer and anything to do with it (apart from any presets u might have made), metal foundry and all the FL Studio 10 files, restart your computer, reinstall everything carefully and correctly in this order (Fl Studio, Superior Drummer, Metal Foundry) restart computer again and try to start up SD and MF. If that doesn't work, try to get your hands on an earlier version of FL. This happened to me and FL 9, but FL 8 works fine.

  • so you just plug your guitar in toneport gx which is connected to the computer and you can record it like this? nice, do you have to own some kind of monitors or are your speakers enough ?

  • @metalcro yes it's that easy ;) you just need a usb-port :P I use some yamaha monitors, but simple pc-speaker can be used too ;)

  • @Amorphous333 ok thanks man ;)

  • i like the snare. it s a good preset man, check out my video... it s got a few plugins, tell me what you think.

    Stay heavy

  • I need chinas, and when I load your S20 preset, the drum turns into a rock drum with no chinas...small drum...

  • are these stock pups?

  • How do you create your own rythms??

  • love the snare

  • sounds very well mixed, everything. good job.

  • This sounds really good man :) Good work on the progamming and the mixing preset!

  • I can't stop listening a part from 0:23 to 0:39, it's great, this drums, sounds fucking great! Greetings from Poland!

  • Man, I soooooooo need this distortion, can't seem to find a vst to get it "right"... Great preset for Superior...........I always liked that boxy snare feel...

  • are there roto toms here??

  • great guitar tone. do you happen to have the preset?

  • ez drummer, sorry typo (ez drummer drum kit from hell) how would u compare the two if you know?

  • @metalvocalistwanted They are made by the same company dude...Only Superior is way better because it's brand new from 2009, and DKFH and EZ are from about 1999. There are a lot more sounds in Superior, better mixer with compressors, EQ's, gates, everything you could imagine, you can build your own kit, change mics...everything. Superior Drummer hands down, is THE best drum VST out there.

  • @Megadedly ooooh nice thanks! \\m// (^_^) \\m//

  • thinkin bout getting this instead of ex drummer. anything u would have me know?

  • this is very good bud keep up the work

  • hey could you host your podfarm distortion setting like you did for the superior setting?

  • What snare did you use? I couldn't get any of the Metal Foundry snares to sound good and ended up importing the snare from the NY - Avatar kit.

  • sounds cool !

  • well this rocks ....!

  • WOW!Awesome song dude and nice production!!!Care to share guitar and bass patches too? Thanks!

  • I really want some type of drum software like SSD, Superior, or Toontrack EZ Drummer, can anyone explain to me just how these plugs work? Do you program them to a piano roll or a midi grid, or do you really need a midi keyboard for them to work?

  • @Dwane5335 you don't need a midi keyboard, have you created drum tabs before? if you create drum tabs you can just import them as midi, and load them in your DAW and then hook superior drummer up to it. that's the easiest way in my opinion.. or you can use the piano roll or a keyboard

  • this is pretty sick. perfect drum sound for this style

  • is this completely loop based? or can you make your own tracks?-

  • I agree bass dr. isn't so good, but whole thing sounds great. I can't wait to try my SD 2

  • is this a custom midi file you did or one from the metal foundry? sounds great!

  • I did it myself, thanks man!

  • @Amorphous333 Hey,

Could you please explain to me how can I make a custom drum beat or even a full song? Because I have no idea. I used to make midi. files in GP5 and just drag it over to a cubase Midi track...

  • Sounds fucking amazing BTW!

  • I dont like the bass drum sound, too moody and turned off, not cutting at all

  • this software had a MIDI loop?? or you use an electric drum for making a beat?

  • Great sound man!

  • could i import midi drums that i made from guitar pro 5 and transfer it to this program??

  • no this program is only for the drumsound, midi files have to be loaded in your sequencer ;)

  • @AmongWarJosef yes you can actually, open your DAW and make a midi track for Superior Drummer: Metal Foundry. Export your GP5 file as MIDI, click and drag that MIDI file into your project, find the drum section and drag it into your superior drummer event!

  • @XXxESPxXX thanks bro well i havent gotten this program yet....just tryin to see which drum program works best...and which programs i can transfer my drums from gp5 to u know...but thanks man

  • @AmongWarJosef you could use a midi file from guitar pro yes

  • @AmongWarJosef Actually you can. You will have to locate the folder that your "stock" midi presets or "grooves" are located and paste the midi into there and it will show up under grooves within SD2.0.

  • @AmongWarJosef

Yes, I work exactly like that. Just play around with the Mezzo/Forte values of each drum element in order for it to sound realistic :).

  • @d3vill0ck thanks man i cant wait to get this so i can start recording my album :)

  • @AmongWarJosef If you have say Cubase or Pro Tools, then you can make an instrument track, then use this as the instrument.

  • @AmongWarJosef

    In fact you can...

I use guitar pro to make my beats and shit..

  • @AmongWarJosef yes you can! i export the midi file (drums only) from guitar pro 5, then i import it into the piano roll in my software.

  • @AmongWarJosef i think i misunderstood your question . o well.

  • @AmongWarJosef you can export your midi drums from gp5 to midi then load the midi file in to a multitrack program such as mixcraft 4 or 5 - or cubase and use the superior drummer as the vst instrument, thats how i tend to do it.

  • @Lipsofdeciet123 if you don't me answering, yes you can, i do that too (with EZDrummer but this seems better so i might change) its probably the easiest way :)

  • @AmongWarJosef actually you can. go to guitar pro, delete all tracks except the drum track, then go file->export as midi and set a directory for the exported midi file. then cut that midi file and paste it in C/program files/toontrack/midi/my midi files (or some directory similar to that) and presto the midi track shows up on the grooves section of superior drummer

  • did u used some reverb?

  • @f3r0m0n on guitars

  • @f3r0m0n I always use reverb, on everything, but just a little

  • Great song, really. Esspecially I like a part from 0:54 to 1:14 :) Really great. :)

  • do you need ez drummer as well as this or is this a stand-alone software?

  • @KG739 It's a standalone software

  • what do you use for the bass guitar tone? When I use Guitar Rig 4, the bass guitar always sounds muddy with limited presence, and when I turn up the bass' level, The bass track sounds too mid-rangy, and not smooth as yours. Do you use distortion on the bass track?

  • @OminousGlow I use "Pod Farm" as software, but no distortion .. be sure to not cut out any frequences esspecially ~100Hz

  • @OminousGlow Try Ampeg SVX. It's from the people that make Amplitube

  • @OminousGlow try ampeg svx by amplitube its alot better than podfarm

  • sounds a bit like keith merrow awesome if you dont know him check him out !

  • You're a bad ass! If you mixed this yourself, you're a fucking beast.

  • When you mix it can you export it as like an mp3 file??

  • This drumset sounds good *_*

  • You should upload your guitar patch. It's excellent.

  • I can't believe it. 'only with a toneport and a gearbox.

    did you use a bass?

i have guitar rig 4 and a presonus usb...it sound less powerfull.

do you think that a bass make all the difference?

    you have an awesome sound!

  • @Metalud0 You'd be very surprised how much difference bass makes to the sound of a final mix. I can definately hear a bass presence in there, and even though you can't hear it clearly, if you take it out it really takes a lot of the 'power' out of it as you said.

  • @Skepsis0Metal You bet, it really gets the track a nice thump and click so everything pops, even if the bass guitar is subtle

  • Can you give link to Toneport preset you used in this video? It's so cool !

  • It sounds like Tool.

  • I'd like the Gearbox preset :P Nice tone dude!

  • nice fucking work man

    this song is amazing

  • KILLER... COOL SONG.. what are your source of dist. - VST or any pedal, multieffect or amp.. Can you write the chain starting from your Guitar, please .., Thanks in advance !!!.. Pro Records ehh,..

  • I use a software called Gearbox and plug my guitar in the so called "toneport GX"

  • hi man,,

i have ez drummer( regular) and dkfh as well, is there a way to download this as a part of the entire program? or i have to download it as if it were a new one? i mean i tried to download the superior 2.0 and there were like 100000 partas, too much for my pc.

    c ya!!

  • @Amorphous333 I got the toneport GX too.. but how do you get the guitars sounding so good?

  • @Sondrebot has less to do with the device and more on mixing and tweaking I gather. not to mention it's just an interface >_> not an engineer...

  • I downloaded the preset and put it where my all mixer preset is, but the program doesn't find it

  • you have to load the kit in superior drummer, you will have to locate it manually

  • I know.... but as I said, the program doesn't find the files in the map

  • then you click on the wrong "load"button, also you might need the 2.1 patch (I dont know)

  • is there a bass drop on the drum kit? the electric pad just wondering nice work

  • what exactly do you mean?

  • fuckin real drums!

  • awesome tone! thanks for uploading it:)

  • Sorry, its ok now. Thanks again

  • could you please reaupload the preset somewhere else. thanks.

  • its free and still available .. whats wrong about it?

  • to get that awesome sound, did u have to do alot of editing and mixing a such boring crap on it?

  • yes

  • did you make each beat or are they samples?

  • no samples, just handwork in the midieditor

  • nice drum sound,, and thanks for sharing the preset.. :)

  • sounds amazing!

  • dude, this is so AWESOME

may i ask for the preset?

  • its in the info ;)

  • Omg I love the sound of that shit :)

  • Sounds great !

Did you build your own preset ?

  • yes i did, pretty much work but a nice result, like it? or would you change something?

  • No, I would'nt change anything. It sounds raw and powerful and it really fits with the kind of riff you composed.

  • Comment removed

  • Take a keygen from torrents, or I can gave it to you (all versions and libraries).

  • is this better than drumkit from hell?

  • drumkit from hell is superior drummer 1.0 ... so its MUCH better ;)

  • thx, it really is the ultimate drums vst :)

  • Goddamn.

I fucking HAVE to get this once i've scraped together the money..

    sounds fucking KILLER!

    the ending was really awesome!
