Ive been studying synths for a little time now...maybe a couple of weeks...i bought komplete 8 about 4 months ago and i'm just really now hopping into the synth world...im interested in creating ambient synths, something either komplete doesn't really cover(like omnisphere, which i really want but i'm trying to learn this piece of gear first), or something i just haven't completely figured out. Can you do a tutorial on Reaktor/Massive/Fm8 making Ambient Pads and making R&B leads/basses?
@MrBiterstyle - Massive was updated in November (I believe) and the latest version will only play NMSV files instead of the old KSD versions of patches. This is their way to attempting to stop the rampant piracy of their software. So either you're legit and it's a very easy upgrade via the Service Center App or you're S.O.L.
@MrBiterstyle - I respect your opinion, but you need to realize that Massive is a very unique synthesizer that does things no other synth (software or hardware) can do and sells for pennies! You young whippersnappers don't even know how good you got it - it used to be 2,000.00 just to get into a decent synthesizer and now it's a fraction of that....
@thepluginguru Totally agree, I think its good that NI are targeting the hacked versions of Massive and other synths. Would you recommend Razor for a similar synth? (Forgetting about the CPU issues)
@MrBiterstyle - Razor vs Massive is a tough call. They are both really unique in different ways.If you want brash cold digital then Razor is what you want. Massive is infinitely more flexible with it's über-powerful LFO's, Rhythm generators and wavetable oscillators. Massive is more flexible in the end, but Razor sounds like nothing else.... so it's a TOUGH CALL!
@MrBiterstyle - you have an older version of the plug-in. You need to upgrade Massive to version 1.3. They are clearly trying to deter piracy in the only way they can, I guess...
Using a mouse to record automation into Logic Pro. It's the LFO "Ratio" parameter in Massive that controls LFO rate. It's mentioned clearly in the comment field of my wobble bass patches, too. :D
@thepluginguru I completely disagree with that jerk that left you a cute little nasty graham. I really like some of the patches you made and personally think that every true musician has their on style of music. You rock dude, Do you have any Omnisphere patches to work with, because Omnisphere and Massive were MADE for each other, and you can't go wrong with Trillian to provide some killer low end to pleasure our studio monitors needs of bass attention! Keep it up bro!
@BaxterSims - Thanks, Bax! Appreciate the props - if someone doesn't need what I provide, that's fine. Enough of you good people have supported my work so I'll keep doing what I do!! Omnisphere patches coming soon!
@vadymmykh - I just did a new biz partnership with soundstosample[dot]com and so this is a support video for the updated version of this patch library that goes on sale with them today!! Quik-E video on Razor right around the corner.... But remember: I'm a bizness man ;-)
BTW, great sounds, man! The only reason why I don't want to buy presets, especially for usual nonsampler (like Absynth) synths is that I like to tweak them. That way I really get taste of synthesis making.
Oh, Skippy, what do you think about Diversion VST (look in Google). It is not an adv, only recomendation. Some people say that it can be a direct concurent to Massive. I wish it doesn't "eat" so much CPU, but the sound is fantastic.Take a look at this synth
@thepluginguru I think it was not about offering something new, but to offer something although CPU expensive but with very clear and smooth sound. Let's watch about its progress, but I just wanted to know your professional point of view.
@Vondur - Thanks man, I try to put tips and programming tricks in these even though the goal of this video is almost pure promotion for the library coming out at soundtosample/beatport web sites....
@Vondur yeah, that's why I'm watching them. For instance, for me I see nothing with great needs for Massive, but Skippy has nice presets for Absynth 5. I'd like to buy them, but first I need to buy a plugin :))

@thepluginguru Ohh ok, thank you :) I just find massive too expensive. Im hopefully buying Razor soon and you video has made that decision! Thanks.

Great library. If you don't mind me asking, how are you automating the time resolution on the LFOs in the first patch?
