As a student of the Arabic language, he was technically correct in his pronunciation. The "h" sound as it is transliterated into the English alphabet can have a "k" sound to it (there are a number of "h" sounds in Arabic). Notice his first name, Mahmoud. This can be pronounced Makmood. McCain, as an American, used an acceptable pronunciation.
