  • however, dont forget about regional signs. 37 there was signed differently to where im from (north east england)

30 (tap middle finger with thumb)

7 (hold up little and ring finger)

  • I would like to lean the grammar too. The verb tenses and suchlike

  • I need videos to learn sign language. I'm not keen on the diagrams

  • How interesting. The sign for LIVE is really similar to the ASL sign for FEEL. And the sign for AGE is really similar to the ASL sign for COLOR. Being bisingual would be hard.

  • I am an American Deaf who uses ASL. I am interested in learning BSL as I sometimes meet British Deaf. I find BSL very easy to learn. Thank you for the videos and keep it up! BSL structure language is not all different from ASL!

  • Im an idiot... i learnt the whole of the American Alphabet instead of British

  • When I say I saw two deaf people arguing in public, completely silently. It must be obvious to people that they are choosing to do this completely in silence, no mean feat to anyone who is passionate about something. It is ridiculous to think it might be because they do not have voiceboxes! I think they were showing pure class myself.

  • i met a deaf person today at my work, i never thought i would need sign language, and i may not after this incident, but having difficulty understanding, it has inspired me to want to learn a little.

  • wow BSL's alphabet is so much different than ASL... confusing to me!

  • i wonder how you say disestablishmentariansim in sign language

  • @backlikevertabrae you're an idiot who obviously knows nothing about BSL. Im hearing, educated with deaf parents and there is a sign for many words in the dictionary- not just simple words because deaf people aren't simple. Only someone as ignorant as you would suggest so

  • @Soph48mead2 it was a joke, calm down. please don't phone the police.

  • Your signing is really smooth and professional. Well done for the upload video. I'm also deaf (hard of hearing). I also do sign language as a child. Thank for your great upload.

  • can i just point out to people, its bsl, because it stands for british sign language, asl stands for american sign language, and i THINK isl stands for irish sign language, dont judge me if im wrong on that last one

  • Call me ignorant, but is there an ISL or something? (international). All these people commenting with ASL, BSL etcetera is confusing. :D

  • @MrBarneey people tend to think that someone created sign language as a way for the deaf to communicate, in a similar way to how Louis Braille created a way for blind people to read. It didn't happen that way. Sign languages were created the same way speech was. People were deaf and needed to communicate so made up signs. The 'creation' of each country's sign language (be it asl, bsl or whatever) was more a culmination or cataloguing of the most popular signs.

  • i think it's ASL the single letters are different

  • @MsTAITH it's definitely BSL, I'm on a course atm. ASL uses a single handed alphabet.

  • @Amithysia oh okay thanks ^^

  • i dabble in sign language and i think that is the asl a not the bsl a and she claims she's british

  • @winkpink57 it is BSL, it def is not ASL

  • i need to no this coz i ha a deaf m8 and we cna t tlk and i realli suck at this

  • As far as my BSL is concerned, a index finger and thumb is not number 37.

  • @mickmick1972 Index finger and thumb is a 7, if you noticed she used 3 fingers meaning a 3 then the index and thumb for 7, meaning 37.

  • @pompeyboyy No, BSL number 7 is the small finger and the finger next to it. Unless its just my region that uses this way.

  • @mickmick1972 actually both ways are acceptable, I don't know exactly what region use which but I'm around London and her way is what I've been taught in my Signature course. Something on the ITV website I saw using the little finger and one next to it for 7.

  • @Amithysia yes i saw it in cath smiths book, both are correct im up north it is a variation.

  • @mickmick1972 3 fingers then the index and thumb makes the number 37

  • good video! those signs are different to the way our bsl teacher shows us... eg 7... where she uses her finger nd thumb, we useour little nd wedding finger

  • @dylan2lee it's regional variation, both are right and not hard to figure out if you find someone who does it the other way

  • i live in worcester, as if how convieniant for learning this lol

  • wow i suck at this : (

  • pause at 2:03 <<Lol

  • lol i no how to sign bull shit, my aunt signed it to my brother and he laughed so hard.

  • Excellent and very clear....Congratulations!

  • I know the alphabet and some words in sign language :D

  • Wow -the "Videojug" company and a large-breasted hot Mama signing "milk the big cow" at 0.28 seconds. Particularly erotic. Good work.

    ;-)

  • thank you paula :-)

  • Im not called paula :S

  • haha, my deaf friend is getting me to learn, i tried numbers but my head imploded by 19 lol

  • I'm not often critical but... what if your name is not Paula and you are not 37??? What a waste of time!!!

  • You go into their videos and click "1-100 in BSL" and "BSL Alphabet" No big deal! They can't exactly make a personal video for everyone, but at the same time without the important parts the sentence would be hard to learn.

  • Then you learn the alphabet and numbers. She can't go through EVERY name and age. It was an example -_-

  • oh crap, i left my hands in the garage

  • ...Heh...Jug.

  • good thing my name is paula and im 37, otherwise i wouldnt know what to do!

  • @blackwaxxblog LOL! You have cheered me up. Was having a rubbish day ;-)

  • must admit i was a little scared she was gonna get her videojugs out..

  • I lolled

  • ..Sign language isn't for mutes.. It's for deaf people... And you're disgusting- being mute is serious- could you imagine what it must be like to never be able to speak to anyone? Ever?

And no, you don't NEED sign language but if you were a half-decent person you'd ATTEMPT to learn a sentence or two, just in case.

  • @SwirlyUchihaFan You can't miss what you've never had, lol.

  • Not true.. if you could see other people communicating easily by talking then you're sure to feel as if you're missing out.

  • @SwirlyUchihaFan Not at all, if you've never been millionaire then you cannot "miss" being a millionaire" You're talking about envy, sure I can envy rich people but I can't "miss" being rich.

  • I never said that they'd miss it- I said they'd know they were missing OUT. There's a difference.

  • lol, stfu.

  • @D1rec7or Ohhhhh my god!!!!!! I dont know whether to be disgusted or to laugh! SO IM GONNA DO BOTH! Haaaeeuughhh ... HAAeuuughh.

  • I honestly don't understand racism, it's fucking ridiculous, and you are an idiot.

  • you look older than 37

  • Right, my name isn't Paula...

  • what is sign for knockin one out?....i imagine it has something to do with the 5 knuckle shuffle!

  • hi

    how are you guys

  • i do sign language :)

  • Years ago I saw 2 deaf girls having an animated conversation during intermission of a rock concert. Head scratch.... WTF ? true story.

  • i bet its easier to talk in signs at concerts and stuff, you cant hear each other anyway

  • I saw a couple who were obviously both deaf arguing out side my local supermarket. Complete silence but I have never previously seen such quick, violent and rapid hand and arm movements. Could have heard a pin drop.

  • @keith6400 deaf people have a voice box you know. i have deaf parents doesn't mean my house is always silent. ignorance.

  • your right, and the sign for a china man is painting yourself yellow...who'd a thought it! its genius!

  • @stonesour2124 is a big nose a form of sign, talk about scraping the barrel and no education.

  • now how do you say ' whatever they are paying you , it isn't enough'

  • The signer is lovely.

  • i can do

    my name is millie

learnt it a few minutes ago very easy

  • I do BSL at college

We are told to not mime the word Me or My

How come "Paula" says "name me Paula" when i have been tought to mime the words "Name Sam"

    Not me

  • agreed

  • I've only learnt how to introduce myself as Paula, age 37, living in Worcester Park. Thanks.

  • haha

  • the video is a lie, I'm not Paula, I'm not 37, and i don't live in Worcester park...how do you expect me to pick up deaf chicks with this?

  • wow i would love to learn sign language shame there are no local courses near me :(

  • Check out my videos please

    wonder-wall + cry me a river

    especially =]

  • Unless you work with deaf people, why the hell do you need this?

  • Why did you bother watching it and then comment on it if you dont see the point? Signing is for people who are deaf, or people who come into contactwith deaf people moron.

  • Firstly, Moron, the point I was trying to make, was that if you work with deaf people then why do you need a video on youtube about it, you should already be taught it separately if you work in that area.

  • no offence but there are loadsa pointless videos on youtube and if you know sign language, this could help you remember it again or refresh it in your memory ... noone said you have to watch it.

  • Normally it is morons who put "firstly" without following up with a second point. And not everyone who wants to learn sign language knows someone who is deaf. I am interested in knowing another language to broaden the amount of people I can communicate with, which means I have to watch videos like this to learn how to do that. Again, why bother watching if you think its pointless? And moron isnt a perfect noun and it isnt at the beginning of a sentence, so it doesnt need a capital.

  • @Josephridler i agree with this ^

i know noone who is deaf and am doing this for pretty much the same reasons

  • i know bsl,asl and macaton idont work with deaf people but has helped me to give directions, helped a deaf guy understand what a train ticket inspector is saying and got me with a hot hearing inpared girlfriend(been together 3 years now) sign language is a good thing to know but before you watch this you should learn the alphabet in bsl

  • Probably because the people who watch it plan on working with deaf individuals?

  • @Neutrinoghost in case you come across a deaf person in your life? why do deaf people only deserve their colleagues to be able to talk to them? pathetic.

  • @Soph48mead2 Pathetic? I'm 29 and have NEVER meet a deaf person since I was born. Surely those who need this will seek it specifically.

  • Comment removed

  • Paula COCKS!!!!!!

  • 00:27

No just facial expressions but hand gestures a well lol

  • I Think This Channel Is Good...I Have Deaf Parents And Know How To Sign...Its Such A Great Language To Learn...!!

  • And what about the two year olds who can't read or write let alone have any sence or knowledge of sound to be able to comunicate back.

Even worse there are deaf blind children out there whos only contact with and to the outside world is through sign language.

No diss, but maybe you should think about that before dissing others. I mean why click on here if your just going to insult those who rely on this language. But I'm guessing that's the only reason you clicked anyway.

    Peace

  • @MaffiasAngelO88

But a blind + deaf child, how would they learn sign language if they can't see the actions or have it described properly?

  • Easy instead of the BSL alphabet they learn the ASL (American sign language) alphabet which involves only using one hand. The children can feel the hand and the position of the fingers and make letters and words from it, this then builds into sentances and they 'hear' through this method. The children can then learn the positioning of the hands and fingers and talk back through this.

    Peace

  • then they can be taught to read and write, duh. Same way they are taught SIGN language. Oh and even worse there are people who have no legs and arms, stay in context you idiot.

  • you look 56 to me

  • Problem... all well and dandy IF your name IS Paula... but what if it isn't?

  • 37? SHE'S LYING!

  • shame my names not Paula

  • Then learn the fecking alphabet you dipshit

  • shattt uppp

  • LMFAO

  • If you actually do this in some parts of Britain, they'll respond to you in the same language by sticking up two of their fingers (index and middle finger) and snarling at you, possibly followed by some zesty verbal communication.

  • how the heck do people learn this.... seems so complicated

  • Hey.. that wasn't how to introduce me.. that was how to introduce her lol. Educational anyway

  • All you do is copy the first actions and then fill in your own details. I know my alphabet, but I wish she'd have done some more numbers as I can only count as far a 9 in BSL and then I'm stuck =)

    Peace

  • @MaffiasAngelO88 surley if you did 1 then 0 quickly that would be 10? thats what i thought?

  • Nope, I just checked it out, there's a videojug site. 10 is all 10 fingers but you have to turn one hand as your moving from the 9 to the 10. And as it turns out I was wrong about six, ah well, you learn something new everyday I guess =)

    Peace

  • And then after that the person suspects you talk full sign language and talks back and then after that well ya pretty much fucked.

  • whoa it completely different! interesting!

  • My science teacher damaged her vocal cords so she uses ASL or her mic (= I got to confuse her today with BSL thanks to this <3

  • wat cool FROM USA OREGON SILETON IM HOH ME

  • frumos nume ai :):):)

  • so lovely

  • wow, British Sign Language looks jacked up compared to American! In american sign language she keeps saying she's excited. Strange.

  • She's not saying excited in ASL. She's saying what's up in ASL. Excited and what's up have the same handshape but different movement. :)

  • go away

  • 0:08 - 0:13

She looks like she's trying to say "Let's hook up"

    O_O

  • Hahahaha. Kinda does.

  • "step 1 you will need your hands" WTF?!?!? really for sign language? :/

  • You'll be surprised how many people don't know that.

  • rofl

  • Yeah, because I really wanna look like a freaking retard when I greet people.

  • yeah god bless u to be the first then. LMAO

  • 0:27 OH YEAH!

  • ROTFLMFAO
