  • I owned a 1967 Bizzarrini 5300 GT about 30-31 years ago. I bought it for 10k and sold it for 20k 6 weeks later. I thought it was such a windfall at the time, If I could bend myself over and kick my own ass I would.

  • One of the 149 Bizzarrini GT Strada 5300 ever made... 5351 chevrolet engine /350ps 1965-1969 270 klm/h. Great job mr Giotto Bizzarrini...

  • gave away his leg to drive the car

  • The car in Herbie the Love Bug, if this is the same car, and from the same scene that I am thinking of ( the scene where Herbie rips the shit out of Jim's new red Lamborghini) The car was supposed to be a new lamborghihi (according to Peter Thorndyke) bought because Jim wanted a "big strong car" and Herbie Flipped out.

  • Actually the car from the scene that your thinking of is incorrect. Dean Jones, AKA Jim Douglas pulls up in a brand new Lamborghini 400 GT. He, Tenessesse, and Carol go inside, and while their inside, Herbie flips out. When they come out of the house you see Herbie beating the crap out of a red car, this is actually not the Lamborghini, but infact a red E type Jaguar coupe. Hope that helps.

  • i stand corrected sir!!

  • Well, I understand how you could be confused, because so was I. I had watched that movie quite a few times, and had realized one night, that the car that Douglas pulls up in was indeed a Lamboghini 400 GT, but the car you see smashed beyond recognition on the sidewalk was not a Lambo, but was in fact a Jaguar E type. I thought that this was interesting to see Disney try to pull the wool over peoples eyes. However any diehard car enthusiast wasn't fooled in the least. If you watch it you'll

  • See that the cars indeed look nothing alike.

  • yeah, i put the film in today, totally different

  • Don't feel too discouraged. I would like to point out that you have good eyes, and that Bizzarini's were actually used in two herbie movies as opposing racecars both in Herbie the love bug and Herbie goes to Monte Carlo I believe.

  • Chevy power on the Bizzarrini was a wise choice for Giotto Bizzarrini's creation!

  • Bizzarrini treasures....

  • A true beauty (but red livery was not the best

    on my taste).
