Good God, Douglas and Claudia's conversation really illustrates how the voice acting in this game shifts so extremely.
Claudia's voice and accent is nice, it really makes it easy for me to despise her - it fits her character.
Douglas' voice sounds like a constipated cowboy trying to do a Columbo impersonation, it really makes it easy for me to despise him - it doesn't fit his character.
@FlowerPetalDancer I liked in silent hill 2 when James used a bent needle and some hair to pick something up out of a gutter or something. Who even thinks of that??
I wonder if they have that mist effect in real-life amusement park haunted houses. That would be very interesting...but it'd probably be lights and I don't want seizures. @.@

@xXTheCrunchXx That's the same fear that stops me uploading my own original songs. People can so easily nick them and then claim that you're the one doing the stealing, and lock you out of your own material. But for these, I am making full acknowledgements and it is the original work of somebody well known and backed by a big games company, so that's why I think it'll be fine with this Silent Hill music project.

@kittypaw92501 I think the haunted mansion, being so silly in a world full of hauntedness, is meant to lull you into a false sense of "this is a bit of a safe haven". Right before you get brain-skewered by that ceiling, or choked out by the mist...

@ScottVrakis They leave a lot of things open to imagination in these games, at least the early ones when the plot still made sense from game-to-game (1-4). This is one of those open things. My guess is that in reality Heather, being in the place she feels very attached to via her Alessa memories; that part of her wanting to give up entirely... the mist is probably her giving up, so that she falls down and chokes actually on the ground, if she's not fast enough = determined enough to escape it.

@missmeme19860 My supposition is this. Be warned of a couple of spoilers here! The Alessa boss you face in the fairground is meant to represent Heather's deep feelings of not WANTING to continue the cycle... not wanting to be reborn... and so it attacks her to keep her here. The guy in the mansion, while the mist chases you, talks of how they all want you to stay. So I think the mist is probably Heather's inner pull to give up and settle in the nightmare world.
@gatoman46 Claudia isn't exactly the sanest person in the silent hill series and if you've seen the bad ending, Heather kinda seems insane (Alessa or not)
@shaye419 Pyramid Head was only meant to be in SH2 and was James's particular 'personal tormentor'. That's why he's not in SH3. So why's he in SH5, then, you might ask? Well because the movie messed up the whole plot, and made PH into a kind of mascot instead... and after the movie, the games followed suit, and couldn't really be bothered to keep the story coherent either. But SH3 was made before the movie, back when they cared about the plot. Some devs on SH5 argued for no PH in the game.

That's why Pyramid Head walked around Silent Hill 2 having sex with monsters, to remind James that he couldn't do it with Mary, and the game left it open for you to assume that he raped Mary?

To be even more specific, Maria is the denial and is saying to James "it's all my fault, I'm a temptress, I'm stringing you along, you are the victim". PH, conversely, is the truth and is saying to James "you're a filthy-minded murderer." The filthy-mindedness being what PH does to the monsters... the murdererness being what PH does to Maria. Maria wants to run from PH because she wants James to stay in denial (ala the Maria ending).
@XSmokey300 well your half right, Pyrimid head was there to represent James, when ph rapes thats showing James sexual urges cus he wasnt being able to be with Mary, PH was also there to get james to remember what he did *Spoiler* (Killing Mary) thats why at the end when you fight two ph's James said he doesnt need them anymore b/c he remembered what he did, you dont even have to fight them you can just run around the room and they will kill themselfs after a while lol

@JaneAlanaRoss Yea Pyrimid Head is refereed to "The Bogeyman" in Homecoming,he is manifested guilt of Alexs father for having to kill one of his sons, another theory is that PH Represents Alex himself Like all of the other bosses represents other sacrificed kids (Scarlet etc) or maybe Represent Alex's Anger towards his father, but its not confirmed or anything. the parents told the story of Bogey man to there kids to explain the missing kids in town, as well. Hope I made sense lol :)

@Allessaria the song is "lost carol" by akira yamaoka (who did all the silent hill game soundtracks up to now). it's on the official silent hill 3 soundtrack (track 1) but that's not the full version featured in the scene in this video... it's a short and sweet version. if you want only a quick listen to see what i mean, you can find some uploads on youtube. there are also many fan remixes (including mine), since it's a good clear vocal to put on the top of something.
I think the narrated haunted mansion was inspired by the Disneyland ride:
. ghostly narrator talking about how you'd be welcome, hanging suicide victim revealed with crash of thunder, fake amicable personality, really bad jokes, et cetera
I think they might also have a Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland Tokyo, but I'm not really sure.

0:12 'Lost Carol' is such a beautiful song... it's only about 36 seconds long, but I could listen to it over and over all day long. Such a melancholy tune, and performed by voice, with no instruments? Simply beautiful... the voice has such emotion in it. No man-made instrument could ever capture that haunting melody.

This is the part that doesn't make any sense - Alessa released the pre-mature "God" which Harry destroyed in SH1 and then gave him her own reincarnation...so how is it that Heather still has God inside her?
@Shiek927 ALessa and Cheryl were joined, she was basically the God that Harry battled. After Harry defeats her, she is "Reborn" again into the baby she gives Harry.

@JaneAlanaRoss Yea Pyrimid Head is refereed to "The Bogeyman" in Homecoming,he is manifested guilt of Alexs father for having to kill one of his sons, another theory is that PH Represents Alex himself Like all of the other bosses represents other sacrificed kids (Scarlet etc) or maybe Represent Alex's Anger towards his father, but its not confirmed or anything. the parents told the story of Bogey man to there kids to explain the missing kids in town, as well. Hope I made sense lol :)

@Allessaria the song is "lost carol" by akira yamaoka (who did all the silent hill game soundtracks up to now). it's on the official silent hill 3 soundtrack (track 1) but that's not the full version featured in the scene in this video... it's a short and sweet version. if you want only a quick listen to see what i mean, you can find some uploads on youtube. there are also many fan remixes (including mine), since it's a good clear vocal to put on the top of something.

I think the narrated haunted mansion was inspired by the Disneyland ride:
. ghostly narrator talking about how you'd be welcome, hanging suicide victim revealed with crash of thunder, fake amicable personality, really bad jokes, et cetera
I think they might also have a Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland Tokyo, but I'm not really sure.

0:12 'Lost Carol' is such a beautiful song... it's only about 36 seconds long, but I could listen to it over and over all day long. Such a melancholy tune, and performed by voice, with no instruments? Simply beautiful... the voice has such emotion in it. No man-made instrument could ever capture that haunting melody.
