  • Great sound of this pickup,I have this guitar but I have stock Ibanez Pickup...

  • great riff a 1:42, did you write it?

  • @3tceterah

Yes it's from one of my band song

  • You must have the treble turned way down to get that type of low and mid out of it.

  • Sounds really good , great review makes choosing easier thanks

  • Great song, i have the same guitar ! the rg 350 ex, i go put the seymour duncan in it. The SH-13 have great tone for modern metal.

  • wow, that really captures Dime Bag's tone

  • what's the neck pickup?? Is the Dimarzio PAF Pro?

I think that I can put a SH 13 in bridge position and a PAF Pro in the neck

  • good video :D

  • The tone is as impressive as your playing.

  • hey bro,, bout to get a dimebucker but want to make sure it has some low end too, every vid ive heard it sounds very high end "only" ,, im fine with high end which is one of the reasons im getting it, but does it sound good with clean tones and have a little low puch to it. anybody? thanks

  • Dimebag will be proud of you \m/

  • I was thinking about getting one of these for my 2550z to replace the Dimarzio IBZ-B bridge pickup...after seeing this, I'm gonna have a look for the price XD

  • The tuning is standard ?

  • That`s a very nice tone!

Soothing and mellow cleans are what it`s at :)

I`m looking to buy this :O

  • Really nice clean tone for a fairly high output pickup I must say :)

  • who cares about the pickup.... when there was such a sweet solo at the end :P

  • Do you think i can put Sh-13 Dimebucker on my Washburn guitar ?

  • @jefonyx I want to put this pick up in Ibanez GRG270B, what do you say? Will I get this type of distortion????

  • these pickups are passive?

  • these pickups are passive?

  • I prefer the origial infinity pick ups :)

  • Nice review on this pick up and super sweet playing bro

  • Nice playing, very good to show what this pickup can do :)

  • will this pickup work on any type of wood and neck,...?

  • I have a Dimebucker in the bridge of my red B.C. Stealth. Can anyone suggest a great neck pickup? Would an EMG 85 sound good?

  • Nice

  • Some nice riffing there...

  • It's too scooped for my tastes. The Crunch Lab is my new favorite, and I really need to try Bare Knuckles.

  • @FiestyMclovin i like the crunch lab too, but the evolution is my absolut favourite, along with duncan sh6

  • i think my head exploded , nice ending XD

  • i think you should join the 'strings on fire' contest whenever the next one comes out dude. you can fuckin SHRED.

  • Amazing playing I've wanted to get one of those for my 1990 rg550 I though it was sweet you played it through an ibanez amazing video!

  • is it just me or does every metal legend use this pickup

  • @TH3C0RPS3R It's just you. Barely anyone uses these.

  • @TH3C0RPS3R toni iommi, guys from iron maiden, judas priest, zakk wylde, guys from metallica, guys from megadeth, guys from anthrax, richie blackmore, satriani, vai, gilbert, petrucci, john 5, laiho, king, and malmsteen have never played with this pickup on stage. the only guys i can think that do are the guy from lamb of god and dime himself. also depends on who is classified as a metal legend, i just tried to list a bunch of people who could be up for discussion. either way its just you.

  • @PANICBLADE As far as I know, Dime never used this. I'm pretty sure he used a Bill Lawrence in the bridge.

  • @dcalde78 he totally did yes, with the pickups put in reversed so the hotter blade is further from the bridge. but he DID collaborate with duncan to design these guys and he did play with them live some before he died and he claims they nailed what he was going for even though he still used the bill xl500s in his other guitars. its all in one of his interviews, i think its on duncans site. by the way i never mentioned how hard you rip this guitar in half. fantastic work and kickass review man.

  • @PANICBLADE Really? Well thanks for clearing that up. I just thought he always used Bill Lawrence till he died, as I'd never heard anything of him using this.

  • 12 people are justin bieber fans

  • does it pick up harmonics better ?

  • @dmohr7 ohhhh yeahhh makes harmonic scream like a bitch hehe it has a crunchy sound to it, o its perfect for like fast notes and power chords my review is ***** five stars

  • does it pick up better harmonics?

  • what the clean song name ?

  • ok so i just bought/installed this pick-up. the clean tone is good but when i switch to distortion/overdrive i get more of a crunch tone. did i eff up the soldering or should this pickup not really be played on a vox?

  • @manontheroad dime was a big fan of crunchy sounding rhythms, but its is supposed to be thumping

  • Nice video! Great sound and great playing too, good work!

  • wow! u should do a song of those riffs and but it on youtube :o! :))))

  • Passive....? No Battery?

  • Hey man, I'm looking to buy one of these for my next guitar and I was wondering if it's good for rhythm AND lead? (I'm lead guitarist in a thrash band, my Dean has great lead playability but sucks ass at rhythm and I'm looking for something new lol) Cheers.

  • Great :) specially this clean part ... i would be very grateful if someone would make transcription for it ;)

  • NICE two hand tapping technique!

  • nice vinnie moore style whammy leads

  • @givemeajackson That too, I was just talking about when he actually uses the Dimebucker

  • @Harstir96 I can't speak from personal experience, but I've heard that Dime used the Dimebucker in the bridge with a Seymour Duncan '59 in the neck for PAF tones

  • @StefanTylerHelton dime used bill lawrence for most of his stuff

  • what pickups r good with the dimebucker?

  • i have the same rg...u upgraded the whammy didnt u?

  • hey bro, one question, i have the same guitar too..i wanna add dave mustaine livewire pickups on them, but that comes with two humbucker for neck and bridge, do you think it'll fit in the ibanez? caz our ones have a HSH configuration..what do you say?

  • put one of those in my jackson RR, beast pickups

  • i put a duncan distortion in bridge and 59 in neck in my epiphone and it sounds like the 59 completley changed the sound of my guitar, theres no distortion when played on overdrive with it but when i play clean its fucking amazing, basically i cant hear the palm muting watsoever and this is a VERY HIGH GAIN amp so someone teal if this is normal ive never switched pickups thanks.

  • @FirePower3006 seems like your wiring is fucked up. btw, palm muted riffs on the neck pu usually suck.

  • @givemeajackson Yea i cant hear em... but yea im pretty sure the wiring is fucked up but my dimebucker in my other guitar sounds like shit the only good pickups from duncan are the sh-5 and jb from my point of view, the jazz in the neck sucks clean OK for shred, dimebucker idk really it doesn't suck but i need to fix up the guitar and the duncan distortions bottom is so loose its completely fails at metal and clarity.

  • Thanx man for this demo! My choice is righteous made now!!!

  • Just ordered it 2 hours ago! Can't wait to see how it's gonna sound on my flying V Baby!

  • Hey man that Dimebucker sounds amazing. I plan on getting one too for my Ibanez. I was wondering what neck Duncan pickup would go best with it. Any suggestions? o.o

  • @FrozHanKunai911

Most go with the sh-2n or sh-1n but its your preference really, seymourduncan has a "find your tone" section where you can listen to samples of pickups etc, until you find what your looking for, also your pots are important

  • @taltor727 Thanks alot man, i appreciative the advice.I'm planing to do the same set up as jefonyx

  • Is this an active pick up????? I really need to know

  • @bottlemanic It's passive. Doesn't need a battery :)

  • I like Dimebag's sound most of all, the most agressive sound ever =)

  • where did you find that pickgaurd plz tell me i have a grx40 i would love to set up like thatt thatnk watch my vids tell me wat you think IGOTASIXSTRING

  • @IGOTASIXSTRING that pick guard is the one it comes with when you buy the guitar..

  • @youngfyre oo where could i find one like that for single single hum

  • @IGOTASIXSTRING my guess is try samash or guitarcenter and ask for pickguard covers..if your looking for one like that try fender pickguards since some of their strats are SSH

  • @youngfyre ok man thankss

  • tu guitarra trastea un opco en sonido limpio,, pero la distiocion suena bien

  • what song were you covering on the 'rthym-lead' section?

  • when ones the dimebaby

  • i have in my amp overdrive and treble and mid and bass and presence and reverb how i tone it to be like what you said ??

  • what are your another humbucker?

    tell me man

  • @eversonmaggot The neck pickup is just the stock ibanez infinity pickups

  • Nice sound, really like that bassy sound :)

  • finally a useful demo done by someone who can actually play! Thank you for actually caring about mastering your instrument. Dime would be proud

  • Does this pickup make a big difference?

  • this pick up is probably best at bridge huh?

  • what amp are you playin out of?

  • You make it look to easy man lol

  • Does anyone know what the original pickups are like for this guitar they are infinity

  • your tapping sounds very much like reb beach!

  • 350 ex right?! getting the dx =D dont like the chrome and stuff^^ very nice playing

  • r u fucking kidding me you're INSANE...

  • how would u rate the guitar out of 10 ?

  • do dimebuckers do good on the neck, or are they mainly bridge pickups? and is it active or passive?

  • @DimebagsZombie they are passive, and probably better off in the bridge, maybe put a '59 in the neck

  • @ManBearPigInc thanks man,appreciate it

  • @DimebagsZombie no worries man, there's so many videos on youtube to look at pickups it's ridiculous

  • @ManBearPigInc lol, yea, on another note, what strings would you recommend for a floyd rose & with a dimebucker? i was told that DR strings lose traction easy & lose tune, then was suggested dunlop, i've been a dean markley user for a while now, but idk how that'd do in this situation

  • @DimebagsZombie I've heard many good things about dunlop strings so i would support going for them

  • @ManBearPigInc ok, thanks man

  • what's ur tone settings i have the exact same set up lol

  • @garrettmiranda

Don't really remember what settings I used in the video, but a thing like Numetal patch with gain at 6-7, comp to 4, bass 8, mid 4, trebble 7-8 would give approxomatively the same sound.

  • How would you compare these pick-ups to the Bill Lawrence 500 XL's?

  • u r my idol :)

  • Thinking of getting this pickup myself, though still pretty worried as there's so much to chose from :l Hah!

But that sure was some delicious playing!

  • Man u´re awesome man very nice Thumps up

  • Dime would be proud. :D

  • @jedimastergarcia87

    Thanks :)

  • why the fuck arnt you famous. you rip on that guitar!

  • WHAT'S THE CLEAN SONG PLEASE?

  • @steftzupac

    It's improvisation :)

  • @jefonyx ok then ,can you tell me the notes? I've been trying the same variations but I think your guitar is tuned somewhat different or maybe I'm not hitting the right notes?

  • @jefonyx

Does that mean the Rythm Lead is also improv? This is so badass! You are awesome dude!

  • @jordanb450

It was an improvisation, but now it's a song I wrote :)

  • @jefonyx can U post the tab??? :D

  • @jefonyx

what are those chords you're playing around 1:29? i never seen those before...

  • @dumapies Its because he is in a drop tuning. I forget what they are called. But say youre playing a regular D chord in Drop D and take up your first finger. Use that position and move i around, Barring as needed

  • @dumapies It's a stacked power chord. As the other guy said, it's just like playing a D5, but in drop, you can add the lower D5 chord.

  • @chatboy91 the dimebucker may wind up being very tiny and shrill in an alder guitar, very high treble rating and the ceramic mag and high dc have ur geared toward a very tight presencey tone. Would prob work best in mahogany. For a strat I think ur best bet would b a alnico 5 paf styled pickup to beef up it's tone a bit

  • @Dreamscapevirus Thanks for the advice. I did a bit more digging and I have to agree. If anything I think I'll get an Invader, since I've read that it's good for fattening a lighter guitar.

  • @Chatboy91 From experience an Invader Darkens a guitar a guitar more so then fattening it up, just keep that in mind, it has pretty dynamics and a scooped treble, with very little presence, the Dimarzio Super 3 is also very similar if you chose to go that route

  • @Chatboy91 If you chose to go the seymour duncan route and what u wanted was a fatter tone, with less high end ice-pick, the Custom Custom is the best route, but u will sacrifice output which sometimes isn't a very big deal at all, considering the nature of Hi-Gain most modern gear has...unless ur playing thru a relatively low output amp the need to push the amp into further overdrive isn't truly necessary.

  • @Dreamscapevirus Thanks again for the info. You're the second person who's recommended a Custom Custom for my guitar. My only concern is that it might not be able to handle the heavier stuff I play. My amp isn't anything too special either, a Vox VT30 to be precise. Essentially, I'm trying to turn my Strat into a heavy metal/hard rock beast, and I'm going to get an artcore for lighter stuff. Now that you've mentioned it though I'm gonna look into the Dimarzio Super 3 as well.

  • @Chatboy91 sweet dude good luck!

  • @evilchimp95 the dimebucker is high out ceramic magnet pup it is passive

  • WHAT SONG IS THE CLEAN ONE ??

  • WICH SONG IS THE CLEAN ONE ??

  • are they active pickups ?

  • God DAMN. For improv that's some damn good music.

Question for some of you guys, would a Dimebucker sound good in a Strat? I'm not sure the alder body would work well with this beast.

  • awesome playing man

  • im selling a Sh13 for $50.... pm me.

  • You're an amazing guitarist. Those riffs were different, in a good way! Pretty sure the tone is in the fingers here for anyone looking!

  • dude great video

but i have a problem i just threw this pickup into my bc rich warbeast and it seems to have 1 prpoblem . my amp is a marshall mg :S and a boss mt 2 and even if i crank the dist on the pedal to the max it bearly sonds ¨crunchy¨ not that over powerfull distortion but i tried it on a spider 4 75 watts and it sound great with the built in distortion any suggests?

  • I need help determining a new set of pickups for my Jackson.. I like to play metal and i like that high gain sound but i also really like the steve vai sort of sound too. Can someone suggest pickups for me please?

  • @sfh113 There's no doubt dude, I have a jackson too. For high gain and heavy metal, get either a dimebucker in the bridge and a SD 59 in the neck or a set of dimarzio evolution. You could try the duncan distortion and the dimarzio super distortion for your bridge too. Cheers!

  • Are your neck and middle pickups stock? They look like DiMarzio pickups because of how the pole pieces are.

  • @The1970sInfatuate

The neck and middle pick ups are Ibanez Inf

  • @jefonyx The neck and middle pickups suck

  • nice you have a 350 dx and a 350 ex

  • Nice sound... I am glad that I just bought a dimebuck... I didn't install it yet, but I can't wait to do it...

    Great vid.. thanx!

  • wow

  • THose look like INF humbuckers, not Seymour Duncan Dimebuckers?

  • Is This Improvised???

  • my next guitar :)

  • you have a really long trem i wish mine wudve come with a long trem like that

  • this guitar is made out of basswood right?

  • @advaitrao94

    yes

  • HEEEY wow I found just what i was looking for!!! What are the settings for the amp in the rythm lead? Thanks!

  • I love Vox amps. Especially the Pathfinder-15. Good choice man.

  • wow that pickup has some surprisingly good cleans for a bridge pickup

  • wowwww but you use a distortion pedal? or is only the amply?

  • @rickyBelpanno1984

It's only the sound of the amp :)

  • dimebucker rox

  • two*

  • Woah. o.o How long have you been playing? P.S. I've been considering getting that guitar for Christmas, I was wondering if I should get that one or the RG5EX1. If I could get an opinion on either too, that'd be great.

  • DUDE!! THATS MY GUITAR hah

  • hi , great playing , i'm going to install this on my jackson dk2s ... and i want to ask you if can you tell me about the pickup noise without touching the strings at an high volume ...

    thank's :-)

  • very nice

  • Very nice sound you got going there. I have the same guitar and I also am putting in the dimebucker. If you don't mind me asking, how did you wire it up? I thought I had it but it sounds too single coilish and thin. Any suggestions?

  • badass guitar and sound , also awesome playing dude

  • fricken epic solo

  • im thinking about this guitar and the kirk hammet 202(even though i dont like kirk..i like the guitar) what is your opinion?

  • wow man you have bery tasteful playing! I'm kind of jaded in general but, yeah, your tone and playing are top notch especialy for youtube recording etc. what kind of settings do you use? I have a 5150 head, combo and a XXX i use and love them but, i never get that "open" resonance that you have here really. I get close when i use my num 1 SG but, that things rediculously resonant...almost hollowbody like, lol. I don't think i could say anything bad if i wanted to,lol.

  • @diesect33

    Thanks a lot !

The settings are very basics, bass 8, mid 4, trebles 7, gain 7.

The open souding of the amp is due to the Vox Nu metal modeling which is very cool :)

  • @jefonyx yeah it sounds great. It just proves that technique is a big factor in tone and alot of up and comers neglect that. I just picked up a Mesa/Boogie single rectifier 50 rect-o-verb and yeah it's a pretty similar sound to what you have and that was the basis (rectifier amps in general) for nu-metal. Almost sounds like an alder body on that Ibanez but, i'm pretty sure it's basswod. anyway,np!

  • @diesect33

    EQ it better.

  • @TheClassroomSpecial EQ what better? This isn't my video and i like my sound.....

  • @diesect33

I though you were saying that you didn't like it when you didn't get that open resonance, but if you like your sound, sure. I guess you don't need to EQ it.

  • @TheClassroomSpecial proper EQ for the amp,cab and guitar is CRUCIAL though and alot of people STILL don't use their ears to set it so i know what oyu mean.

  • @TheClassroomSpecial Yeah i said i couldn't get that open resonance but, an EQ won't fix that unless it's in the FX loop. The other way is to have a good guitar which i do have now. I couldn't remember what i posted about because it was a month ago but, yeah i like my sound now i just like his too. His guitar's very resonant. My SLSMG and my SG have a similar res tho. Finaly getting the amps i like helped too lol. Now i have a 5150,DSL100 and Rect-o-verb and V30's.

  • Woah dude, u are good :P, is that flamenco?, and, do u think that would fit in a Fender Squier Strat at the bridge postition?

  • dear god man that guitar must never leave your hands nice playing man

  • great playing !!!!!!, great riffs !!!!

  • i have dat pickup too i mounted it onn the bridge position on my jackson it kicks ass

  • Kickass Sound ! Just Great Dude.
