  • 0:32 thats a nice car :)

  • Really awesome video depicting your typical Miami weather. Also the national weather service broadcast in the background really gives you a feel for whats going on as if your right there in Miami-Dade county! NICE VIDEO! 5 stars.

  • The approach of the thunderstorm is always the scariest part

  • I subscribed to you vmax135!

  • i really really want to access there

  • I'm just glad this is a La Nina year.

  • My father, my oldest brother, and I were in Miami and Fort Lauderdale in February of '98. The weather was nice, but it was raining the morning that we left. Thank God that we were in the airport terminal when it happened.

I don't think I want to ever go to Florida again. Give me the freezing cold weather, ice, and snow here in Pennsylvania anytime.

  • good taking!

  • Wow, i love the hd. Keep up the good work.

  • Nice squall line indeed!

  • Great video!

    Nice storm.

  • OMG! i remember this storm

  • I love the view angle you shot this video!

    Great video!

  • @SevereStormsMax9 Thanks so much, Max!

  • wow this video is like the most intense storm in miami history and going to destroy miami because each time the camera changes the wind gets louder and everything around is making soo much noise its like miami is getting destroyed

  • great, awesome!

  • great work man the video so nice thxxxx your friend from Egypt

  • BadASS dude

  • NOAA warnings always scares me.

  • I live in West Palm Beach, about 100 km (60 mi) north of Miami. That storm affected us too! I was in school when this happened.

  • man i was in downtown miami suddenly the wind picks up and a tree fell close to my car 5/5 beautiful storm

  • Hi!!! awesome video!!! that is a beautiful storm. Thanks for the sub.

  • amazing video, 5*

  • great video!!

  • @vmax135 when can u tell when a thunderstorm becomes a super cell without radar i mean that u can see and what is the difference between a super cell and any other single-cell severe thunderstorm?

  • Good view from Camden Brickell of nearly the entire Brickell skyline and part of downtown. It is quite striking the deep red of the BOA Tower against the glowing shelf cloud.

  • Thanks so much... glad you like the clip. And yeah, they had just changed the lighting on the BOA tower to be red for the Valentine's weekend... and it cast a very appropriate deep red glow across the cloud base.

  • Wait a minute. That EAS Severe Thunderstorm Warning, is it on the radio or TV? Because in Boca where I live whenever there is an alert in effect you rarely hear it on radio but guaranteed to eventually see it on TV. Unless that is NOAA weather radio, they are alert sensitive i hear.

  • The warning your hearing is the automated broadcast over NOAA radio. After the initial Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for central and eastern Dade county, I just left the radio on... so, in this clip, you're actually hearing the subsequent warnings for Broward county and southern Miami-Dade county.

  • I really like the effect of the storm going over the highrises! Another great video!

  • Thanks so much, Linda! Yeah, the view from my balcony is from northeast through southeast... so anything coming from the west (like this line) is totally hidden from my view until it's right on top of me...lol.

  • Hi Michael, another great video. You know I think it's so interesting how the storm is so different a few miles away. Though as you know, I face East, I was visiting with neighbors who face South. Before leaving my apartment I didn't have a clue that such a violent storm was on the other side of Williams Island. I'm getting used to this!

  • amazing. the time lapse was cool too.

  • Thanks so much, Chris... glad you liked it! Hopefully we'll have some more interesting weather while you're down here.

  • Nice video. 5 Stars

  • Thank you so much, Sebastian!

  • !!!WOW!!! Nice Vid 5***** My sister told me about the thunderstorm

  • Thanks so much, Axel! Yeah, this line of thunderstorms affected almost all of South Florida, I'm sure your sister must've had some interesting effects too,

  • You did it again! Great video, I'm glad you caught it.

  • Thanks, Mark! I'm glad you like it. You must've had a bit of an impact as well?

  • Beautiful coverage! The city of Miami sure is beautiful and the storms are wild! Like someone said...winter is usually dry and the summer is stormy and hot, but during el Nino it's wet and cold in the winter.

  • Thanks so much! You're absolutely right, we definitely have some wild weather here.

  • wow 17mph

  • The NWS Severe Thunderstorm Warning at 0:18 is saying 70mph (112kph), not 17mph.

  • @vmax135 oops... sorry

  • Great storm, is it normal to have storms like this in the winter?

  • Thanks, Jonas! Typically, winters in South Florida are pretty dry... however, during "El Nino" events (like the one going on now) the pattern is usually wetter with more frequent storms.

  • Wow. I remember hoping that you had filmed this after I heard about it.

Great winds, and real surreal with the NWS warning in the background.

  • Thanks, Max! I wish it had lasted longer, the whole thing was over in less than ten minutes. Anyway, hopefully it's a good omen for the rest of the year...lol.

  • beautiful.very nice video quality. The scenery is beautiful

  • Thank you so much!

  • WoW xD 5/5!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

  • Damn you've got a great view there Michael! Awesome video as always, wish we got some interesting weather over winter like that!

  • Thanks so much, James!!! Hopefully we'll all get some decent storms come spring... Happy Year of the Tiger!

  • Thanks so much, Kristen! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • This is great! I spoke to the miami NWS office a few times after the straight line winds moved through dade county. A friend of mine around the corner recorded a 67mph a few blocks of flagler street in little havana as transformers were flashing with horizontal rain smashing my door. It was a wild crazy few minutes for sure. thanks for uploading mike. adrian

  • Wow!! Very nice footage!! 5/5

  • Thank you very, much! Glad you like it!

  • Awesome video Michael! I could go for some of that here, lol. It's freezing! Great stuff! And that's a hell of a view you got there as well

  • Thanks so much, Scott! Glad you liked the clip (and the view). This storm definitely amped up my need to see some real severe weather... spring can't get here soon enough! lol

  • You got that right! At least we'll all be able to kick off the spring storm season together at Jim's place next month! Can't wait. Oh, and I digitized some of my storm video from the 1980s this afternoon and will be posting some of my close lightning calls tomorrow :)

  • Totally! I can't wait for the get together!!! And that's awesome about your 80's footage... I love vintage storm video! I'm working on getting some more of my own stuff from the 80's and 90's up soon.

  • Awesome!! Can't wait to check that out!

  • Great shots Michael... While I was in Marathon working it came through with winds I had estimated 60+mph at about 7pm. The palm trees had that hurricane look along with that real brief heavy rain. If only we had 70+ dewpoints involved it may have been even stronger.

  • Thanks, Jim!!! Yeah... if the line had better moisture to work with, I'm sure it would have been even more of a blast, literally... lol.

  • Awesome Video Mike ! Thanks for sharing, My father in Key Largo said this line was wicked !

  • Thanks so much, Mike! There were a bunch of oservations with winds over 60mph, all over south Florida. The highest I saw was a mesonet station on Miami Beach with a 64 mph gust. The line was moving so fast though, it only lasted about five minutes...lol.

  • Fabulous capture timelapse of the squall line, Michael! .. the same line the same day affected us in Yucatan .. I'm anxious to see the camcorder to capture footage of a hurricane :D

  • Thanks so much, Roy! Yeah, that line really affected a large area. I can't wait to get into a good landfalling hurricane with this camera.

  • Very nice, can't wait to see more! Very good video quality also. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you very much!!! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Wow, intense rain, nicely composed!

  • Thanks so much... glad you liked it!!

  • Nice Squall Line footage!!! That timelapse was awesome and the lightning flashes makes the video too. Nice storm capture to start off the 2010 year Michael!!!

  • Thanks so much, Nathan! Yeah... I hope this is a good indicator as to what we'll see in the spring... lol.
