Sounds like something is very wrong, they should last longer. Is it possible that you have a China scoot?
Anyway, replace sprockets and chain, (You HAVE to replace both sprockets and chain otherwise things will wear out fast.) make sure it lines up nice and DO NOT tension the chain too much. There should be a little slack but obviously not too much. I don't know how much slack it shall be on your ped but just make sure it doesn't feel stiff but not all sloppy at the same time.

No. With a kart you dont have to balance which, at speeds of 40 mph is pretty fun, the rush is awesome, again I know for a fact that it's not near the most intense nor did i say it was. just said it's great, which is why someone would spend 1000 dollars on a goped. Go-ped has a huge selection of aftermarket parts for their long line of scooters as well as top notch service and replacement parts. They resemble a car brand as far as quality and service go. If you know how to properly maintain a chain driven goped, a chain can last 1000's of miles. This is entirely your fault, not the ped.
