Hyundai hit a breaking point with their cars sometime around 02-03? I love my 06 Tibby, she's stock at the moment, but there is so much potential behind her. I've had her for almost 2 years now and absolutely NOTHING wrong with her

I always race for fun and just to see where my car is currently at with other cars I would expect to be faster than me... I got the car a year ago and have had no major repairs besides oil changes and new tires. other than that it has been a dream and i love the exotic look of it cause there is not very many tibs where i live. also the power is great i have a stage 0 supercharger and it is awesome but also i keep really great fuel effiecency! i would reccomend getting a tib with around 60k miles on it
@Exsentric I don't know if you still need some clearing up but I got a 2003 Tiburon GT 6 speed about 6 months ago. I've put about 7k miles on it since. So far I have just changed the oil and the fuel pressure regulator as it was leaking and it would take a while to start but that's how I bought it. No real complaints from it. I have heard though about the bad clutches, window motors, door actuators, blinker relay, wheel bearings. But those things aren't major to me except the clutch.

Lol you apparently don't have a clue what you are talking about. I have and 03 wrx that runs 11's I have vids to back it up. And there are other vids of a buddies 800hp wrx which is also an 03. The subarus with the real potential are the wrx's. Why you ask? Because they are lighter and more simple, such as the cable driven throttle instead of the sti fly by wire that has more computers to fuck it up. That's just names a couple. Learn your shit, sti cost roughly 40k new.
Yeah I dont know how much that shit costs because I dont want one. Any car out there will beat a Sub if it has work into it, and most are cheaper to start with.
But if you own a wrx you understand what they are about is that they can do 0-60 in 5 seconds on anything anywhere. I would take one over any other 4 cylinder on the market.

but if u take a stock 306 hp genesis and a 300 hp subby and max both out....the genesis would win fo sho...ud have it off the line but give it 200 ft...itd blow that subby away....4 banger dosent put out torque intil u get those rpms up...the v6 has the bottom end.....whatever...u could egt 800 ponioes out of a supercharged genesis too.
Do some research on the TQ capabilities of a boxer engine. It's not your typical inline 4 banger. TOTALLY different design concept, if you ask me it's possibly the best engine design ever. Right next to the Toyota 2JZ and the Chevy 350. You REALLY need to do your homework on the boxer engine trust me you will be amazed.
i never said subarus were bad, there awesome cars, and that 4 banger is awesome....but seriously, do yur homework...a maxed out genesis would blow a subbys doors off.
So a better engineered engine wouldn't win? Just because it's a bigger engine doesn't mean it makes more power. It's all in the set up and the tolerance of the design.

Yes, but you'd still have to dump $15,000 in the Hyundai. Even after you did that, all i'd have to do is throw maybe $2500 on top of my stock WRX, and you're back to square one. Just saying it may be more economical to spend the money up front.
@1986GreatYear I will have to disagree with you here because, the Tiburon is a lot more user friendly, for 1, it has a lot better gas mileage among other things. For another thing, $2500 would get you a nice set of headers, exhaust, and intake, and that for sure would not help enough to keep up with a supercharged Tiburon. Also it would not even take $15,000. You can run a Stage II (even III not recommended) Sniper supercharge, and kellydude is a Stage II I am pretty sure.

@whitelightnin13 The I4 2.0 does not come turbo charged. It is a Cast iron block, the 2.7 V6 is a Aluminum block..
No Tiburon comes supercharged or turbo charged, most of the superchargers out there come from NGM, for a Tibby

Lol you apparently don't have a clue what you are talking about. I have and 03 wrx that runs 11's I have vids to back it up. And there are other vids of a buddies 800hp wrx which is also an 03. The subarus with the real potential are the wrx's. Why you ask? Because they are lighter and more simple, such as the cable driven throttle instead of the sti fly by wire that has more computers to fuck it up. That's just names a couple. Learn your shit, sti cost roughly 40k new.

But the wrx has a turbo boxer engine that has HUGE power potential and awd the genisis or the tiburon would lose in the end. Look at the 800hp wrx in my vids that thing only has 30 psi on pump gas and runs like that. Max it to the 50psi on race gas and it is all over lol.

but if u take a stock 306 hp genesis and a 300 hp subby and max both out....the genesis would win fo sho...ud have it off the line but give it 200 ft...itd blow that subby away....4 banger dosent put out torque intil u get those rpms up...the v6 has the bottom end.....whatever...u could egt 800 ponioes out of a supercharged genesis too.

Do some research on the TQ capabilities of a boxer engine. It's not your typical inline 4 banger. TOTALLY different design concept, if you ask me it's possibly the best engine design ever. Right next to the Toyota 2JZ and the Chevy 350. You REALLY need to do your homework on the boxer engine trust me you will be amazed.

Yes, but you'd still have to dump $15,000 in the Hyundai. Even after you did that, all i'd have to do is throw maybe $2500 on top of my stock WRX, and you're back to square one. Just saying it may be more economical to spend the money up front.

@1986GreatYear I will have to disagree with you here because, the Tiburon is a lot more user friendly, for 1, it has a lot better gas mileage among other things. For another thing, $2500 would get you a nice set of headers, exhaust, and intake, and that for sure would not help enough to keep up with a supercharged Tiburon. Also it would not even take $15,000. You can run a Stage II (even III not recommended) Sniper supercharge, and kellydude is a Stage II I am pretty sure.
