the Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 (or 9 Pro) is medium level editing program that will work with the AVCHD Lite. The camera also offers .mov files you can use in others programs...like iMovie for the Mac. The camera shoots 720p HD, not 1080. Just started working with the camera myself. My G4 Mac is a little too weak for the job, though just bought a CPU assisting gizmo called the Turbo.264 from Elgato. That may help things.
