  • warrior looks shitty compared to a xiphos? bull goddamn shit. i love ibanez, but hell dude saying a warrior looks like shit compared to anything is just stupid.

  • and make sure you keep all the hardware clean because the sweat and oils from your hand will corrode the raw unprotected metal finish the use for the tuners, pickup frames, knobs and bridge. looks cool when ya get it but a couple months down the road it looks like shit.

  • Does sound great my only complaints with my xiphos were the dimarzio pickups and the strap buttons. Emg's sound 100 times better in the xiphos and the strap button locations are pure shit. Idk who the hell decieded to put them their. It would be the perfect postion if it was a leaf blower, but for guitar i like my guitar to rest neck high not neck on the ground.

  • just picked up a Xiphos XP300, thing shreds, jumbo fres are awespne, solid neck and thickness. well worth the 500$ for it, was 850$ originally, came with a free case SCORE!

  • the Ibanez Xiphos looks like a JAckson Warrior, whihc looks like a BC Rich Stealth.

    Circle of Life.

  • if i could pick the two best playing stles of all time it would be muhammed and chuck schuldiners!

  • if your name isn't Muhammed Suicmez you probably suck ass at metal guitar

  • Inspired by the BC Rich Stealth

  • @TheXenoSphere actually Ibanez had something before the Stealth in the 80s. look up the Ibanez Axstar. i believe it came just before the stealth.

  • @TheMetalHeaD256 arh seen it, it looks a bit fat, and i guess your right, but i still think that both look unique

  • @TheMetalHeaD256 arh seen it, it looks a bit fat, and i guess your right, but i still think that both look unique

  • to much talking about the unique shape but Chuck Schuldiner had a guitar with that shape and HE was DEATH Metal!!!!

  • @ Shadowofdeth7 okay Muhammad does deserve a signature but Mick Thompson is not a shitty guitar player, slipknot has made Ibanez look awesome for guitarists rising up and starting to learn, it's like okay, u have a kid wants to learn to play guitar, and let's say he listens to Slipknot, finds out one of the guitarists plays Ibanez, the kid will probably want an Ibanez. and I'm not sayin Ibanez isn't already one of the biggest guitar companies in the world with guys like Joe Satriani, Munky from

  • @BatistaStrums123 I'd disown my kid if he listened to Slipknot.

  • @THRASHEDTODETH why? its just a music it says nothing of his character...

  • @gmoney101392 i have to disagree, respectfully, cause i feel like when people write their own music, my self included, it reflects how they are feeling at the time, so i feel the music one generally plays says a lot about ones character.

  • @coolguy57000 i was replying to a guy who said he'd disown his kid for listening to slipknot, haha not about someone writing music.

  • @THRASHEDTODETH its music though. why would you be an asshole to your kid for what he listens to i hope he disowns you as a father without remorse.

  • Ibanez should make a Muhammed Suicmez signature Xiphos, and kick that shitty slipknot guitarist out.

Suicmez deserves a signature model, come on...

  • those D Activator X pickups are AWESOME. I have them in my DTT700 Destroyer. I almost didn't buy it because it didn't have EMG's but I ended up liking the DiMarzio D Activator X's better.

  • @QuantumGloom so the stock pups r good? :D

  • @DescentFromHeaven Yeah they are pretty good. I understand how many people prefer EMGs because I did as well. It's pretty close but the added convenience of not having batteries puts the DiMarzios a little higher for me. They are powerful and they have a more beautiful smooth sound than the chunky EMG's. I have the perfect swedish melodic death metal sound on my Destroyer. Works great for the smoothness of black metal as well.

  • fuck the Edge III tremolo forever and always it works fucking horrible!!! just fucking horrible!!! I own this guitar and the screws at the top of the neck are tightly locked, strings are in midway, (not too new, not too stretched) and the slightest use of the whammy bar all the strings go incredibly out of tune. i have tried other models with different tremelo systems and pushed and pulled it back and forth all the way and they didn't go out a drop. Anyone else with a Xiaphos experiencing this??

  • @999N0t3str34k take your tremolo off the guitar, and look at the knife edges on it. are they sharp or are they really dull?

the Edge III will work, but its fault is that the knife edges dull, really easily. if they are dull, it's possible to take it into a luthier and he can sharpen the knife edges. or if he says they're unrepairable, then you can get a new trem for cheap on ebay.

once you get the knife edges sharp, put some chapstick on a q-tip and coat the edge with chapstick and re-install.

  • @mmroz1996 The song is called "Seven" by a band called "Necrophagist".

  • Opening song name... Please anybody? O_o

  • @meshuggahdeciple327 Necrophagist - Seven

  • This guitar would be a death machine if it had:

    1. EMGs.

    2. Original Floyd Rose trem.

    3. Gotoh tuners.

Ov course, each ov these features can easily be swapped in. However, it changes a $700 guitar into a $1000 guitar that isn't even a Prestige model. Pretty pricy... Still, I think I'll have to give it a shot, eventually...

  • @TerminusCOBHC emgs would ruin it

  • @deathcoresucks1 That is entirely your opinion.

  • @TerminusCOBHC indeed im not trying to be an ass or anything im just saying but i prefer blackouts over both emg and dimarzios but sorry if i came across as a douche

  • @deathcoresucks1 Nah, it's cool. Agreed; Blackouts do have some killer tone.

  • It's like the marriage of schecter and fender. The grunge of schecter, but the clearity of strats. It's genius.

  • Xiphos + EMG = Super Technicality.

Sal from Process For Enigma amaze with it

  • i dont think anyone has relised but its pretty much the same as a jackson warrior just with dimarzios instead of seymore duncans or emg's

  • @breaththeair since i'm a huge jackson fan,i was like ...wtf that's a total warrior rip off...

imo alder (what jackson uses) is better for metal than mahagony, because alder has punchier mids

  • @breaththeair

Which both was built off the BC Rich Stealth design.

  • @breaththeair

Except the Warrior looks really shitty compared to the xiphos.

  • @0Erazoender0 I disagree, I think the Warrior looks a million times better.

  • @runningwithdeath

To each their own, of course I'm being a biased prick and love picking on other people. But the xiphos looks so much meaner and brutal compared to the warrior... I think the warrior looks pretty lackluster imo.

  • @0Erazoender0 The main issue I've had with the Warrior is that the volume knob is too close to the strings, I had to move it down so don't accidently roll the volume down while I'm playing, it looks like this guitar might have the same problem.

  • @breaththeair I recognised that too, but I feel the Ibanez shape is more balanced somehow. Not sure why though.

  • I'm getting an XPT700XH next week!

  • @shcl00259 me too but RCM

  • Just bidded on a white one, on ebay.

    $430 atm

  • @StefanCornelius nice dude! i honestly do love that guitar. id love to play one

  • im picking this guitar up on wednesday in 2 days :)

  • at about 2:19, he lifts the guitar up, and you can see EMG pickups in the guitar.

  • @dsl100stack yeah he's spoiled and got EMGs and a Floyd Rose trem in it. EMGs don't really sound different from Activators, until you get em on a tube amp. in solid state, they both sound pretty much the same. on a tube, EMGs have no matches other than Blackouts.

  • @AirgunAddict256 I agree. When it comes to solo tone, there is nothing better than an 85 in the neck. There are good passives on ibanez prestige guitars though. As for amps, I don't own a solid state amp haha the marked this guitar aims at probably almost all own solid state amps though

  • @dsl100stack yeah. i do wish that they could expand on the Xiphos even more. they've got entry-level ones, they've got mid-grade ones, now they need a Xiphos prestige series. with maybe a choice of EMGs or Blackouts as pickups, or something.

and include a high quality tremolo for a change. ya know what i mean? the Edge-III, while it isn't bad, does not deserve to be on a neck-thru guitar. the Edge-Zero however, i think is perfect. i think the bridge kinda kills lots of the value of the XPT700.

  • @AirgunAddict256 I agree 100% and have wanted something like that since last year. Edge zero, wizard prestige, and made in japan prestige model. That would sell more. The dimarzios are fine but an emg option would be cool. Blackouts don't sound as clear.

  • @dsl100stack yeah i said blackouts because i'm an EMG guy definitely, but i know a lot of people who like Blackouts and want some.

i like my guitar to sound just as good on a clean tone as it does on a distorted tone, so i think EMGs are just perfect for me. they're so versatile.

also, one thing i really want them to do is bring back the VBT's! they were so awesome, from what i've seen of em. i say, line em up just like the Xiphos' are supposed to be.

  • FUCK YOU DIMEFAG! EMGS ARE THE SHIT FUCK YOU ROCKCORE PUSSY LISTEN TO DEATHMETAL AND GROW A PAIR STICK WITH YOUR DUNCANS FAG

  • @Deathperception1 I'm assuming you were trying to direct that comment at me but didnt have the intellectual capacity to click the "Reply" button, i'm twice the Death Metal fan you'll ever be. Stop being a fucking poncey cunt you've probably never even heard of Death.

  • i strongly dislike mahogany and they are all exited about it

  • AT 3 MIN WHAT KIND OF IBANEZ IS THAT ITS A V!!!!!!!!

  • @kalmahman48

    Ibanez VBT 700

  • @666Napalm666Death666 ya i knew that before i saw this a long time ago but it was probably my bro or cousin that asked

  • Ok EMG Pickups FUCKING OWN for 1 i have an emg 81/85 set up, i love it, i have never herd such an amazing pickup , but that is my opinion, Ducan are good , but they are not built for metal, apart from the blackouts but DiMarzio's are great all round pickups, the lead guitarist from my band has a Xyphos and it has the DiMarzio pickups, he likes them, i like my emgs, everyone has there own taste. just because you like other pickups/guitars dont go giving shit to other brands. simple. EMG/ESP FTW

  • i just got this guitar and i'm not sure if i like it anymore lol... 1st. it's got 24 frets and reaching the last 4 of them is much more hassle than i prefer.. 2nd. the neck dives more than i thought would even be acceptable by any guitar company.. and idk if moving the strap buttons is going to help such horrible neck dive to the point i'm satisfied.. i think muhammeds guitar is made of lighter wood in the body, hents the emgs in which guitar body wood has no major effect on it's tone..

  • @m3tallih0lic nvm about the body being lighter wood thing.. dumb comment.. if the body wood was lighter the weight of the neck would make it dive even more lol so that's def ruled out ^^

  • 1:36 fuck dude need alot of practice to pull that off hehehehe

  • @MAP1987 i looked at the tab and it took me about 45 minutes to get it clean and up to speed. just got to practice. you can do it

  • whats the intro song?

  • @floatingAnima seven by necrophagist

  • @AleksanderNile Cheers. Awesome!!!

  • "they weren't like reeaalllyy marshall metal guitars" lmfao.... w/e he means by marshall metal...

  • Looks like a B.C. Rich Stealth. It kinda makes me think they may have stole or at least borrowed the shape because they are saying it was for death metal and B.C. Rich made the Stealth for Chuck of the band Death which pretty much started Death metal. Oh well i like both guitars. Just kinda interesting.

  • @KilluhSoda u forgot the Jackson warrior dude theres three Jackson Warrior, Bc Rich Stealth and The ibanez Xiphos

  • he said he likes the bridge and the pickups that ibanez guitars come with lol but didn't he swap that stuff on his guitar????

  • this guitar looks fucking epic!!!

  • i really wish they'd make a prestige model of this guitar... if they'd put an Edge Zero bridge and maybe have a few different pickup options (like Duncan Blackout Metal/Blackout neck, or D Activator X), this would be the best guitar made by Ibanez. cause they have a low/mid price range, bolt-on neck and fixed bridge series out, and they have a high end series (the Xiphos 700 and 27 fret models)... now what they need is a Prestige series.

  • Anyone else think the Ibanez guy looks like Willy from Lamb of God a bit? lol

  • i have one.

    the guitar is so amazing!!!

  • they have a 27 fret model of this O_O

  • haha! if u pause right at *2:01* it looks like muhammed is gonna kill u!

  • The D Activators are pretty good, the D Activator bridge p/up is amazing with an Evo in the neck. I prefer EMGs, though. I have no clue why people think they sound thin, you must not be using them right. You should check out the EMG X series pickups, they have the clarity of the originals and sound more organic like passives. My only thing is, don't get EMGs if your guitar doesn't already come with EMGs. Every passive equipped guitar I have uses DiMarzios, and I have several stock EMG guitars.

  • "I never use Ibanez on stage"

next clip is him using an Ibanez live.

  • @assassin2811 he says " i never USED ibanez on stage" meaning untill he got the xiphos

  • @assassin2811 Perhaps what he meant by it was he hadn't used an Ibanez on stage that was of interest of him to use on stage. Until the Xiphos came into the picture. Who knows.

  • OMG!!! what´s the first song in the video??? it´s freaking bruuutal =O

  • @TheRaven0us Seven by Necrophagist

  • @TheRaven0us i think its "seven" by necrophagist

  • I want to get a black xiphos, but the black one has 24 frets :/ Is there a way to get the 27 fret version in black?

  • @pivotgodxd no its only in green shadow flat

  • if i wer to get the xiphos id put bareknuckle pick ups in it

  • I'm born between a Xiphos and a King V.

  • fuck EMG's first time tried them didnt like them and tested DiMarzio my got they acheive everything EMG sounds thin as a line 6 amp with no decent tone i will NOT change a thing about my 27 fret xiphos

  • I want my 3rd Xiphos to be natural finish... No paint on mine please just the mahogany and some oil... that would be awesome!!

  • heres what a xiphos will sounds like in an average high gain setting.

  • ibanez needs to make a v already

  • i just pre ordered this, its coming next week YEAH!

  • Emgs or Seymor Duncans

  • DiMarzio rules, i use em on my Nj Bc Rich Warlock and are killer sounding

  • i heard that they got the shape from chuck's bc rich stealth, is that true? because i guess that muhammad is a big fan of death so it would make sense.

  • he sounds like sgwissgar from dethklok

  • @XxltdxXshaddix5 He is skwissgar from dethklok.

  • the only thing i dont like about this is the guy that builds the say that it "dose'nt look like any thing else", wich its really dumb or just arrogant. when it clearly looks like a freakin warrior, and it looks like a B.C. Rich stealth. so him claiming that shape is just fucked up and wrong. i have nothing against ibenez(i own two of them) but lets be real people. i own two warriors and the xiphos is just a third cousin of them lol and the xiphos and warrior are descendants of the stealth lol

  • Ibanez answers not when people ask about the Axstar! Act asif they want to forget that fast!

  • So my friend has a xiphos and some guys at a concert started givin him shit saying it was a jackson knock off. Did the warrior come first? And which is used more?

  • i dont know which one of those came first but this looks like the bc rich stealth which is chuck shuldiners guitar

  • Ibanez rules, me and my buddy have one apiece. My friend has the xiphos and I got an SAS32exfm. both are great guitars, but i'd opt to put better pickups in the SAS32exfm if your serious about playing. The stock ones are alright but you can really get a sick sound with some EMG81's or and 81 and an 85.... all in all Ibanez makes some excellent instruments.

  • Na, i prefer the xiphos over the warrior anyday. Not only that, Fender drove Jackson into the ground!

  • Neck Thru baby!!!!

  • yea but both bc rich and dean havnt made a really good guitar in a long time

  • @deathcore1239

VERY true. The pickups suck and it's alwas a bolt on neck. All you get is a sharp body. I find the mokingbird is ok tho.

  • yea i do like the mockingbird but thats it

  • @deathcore1239 deans havent made any gd guitars for ages bc rich pulverize deans dean hasnt shit on the gr8s like ibanez and bc rich

esp are terrable ibanez and bc rich kick ass for the death metal style the best guitars are iabenz caparison and bc rich

  • i just find it IMPOSSIBLE to find a really good bc rich thats not from the early 90's or earlier

  • @deathcore1239 the ibanez xiphos is your next guitar if you dnt want a bc rich

  • @deathcore1239 bc rich's kerry king models and dean's mustaine and dimebag models are all really good guitars

  • @LobosaurusWREX they cheaped out on all of them (i casnt say the same for a mustain, ive never played one). the only good king bc rich is his 7 string. the rest are shit. like the ones at guitar center all suck. and same with the dimes. people are just buying them cuz it says dime. dean is just using his name. like they have a new 7 string dime. he never used a 7 string. i hate pantera and i know that. ill never own a dean that wasnt hand built by dean zelinski (if thats the spelling).

  • @deathcore1239 I'd suggest some of their higher end guitars; I traded in my Jackson SLSMG for a BC Rich Stealth Chuck Schuldiner edition and I haven't looked back.

  • @bigAshizzle really? i almost got the slsmg. i got my ibanez prestige instead. thats one nice ass jackson, i wouldnt even think of getting a bc rich over it

  • @deathcore1239 The BC Rich's you see at Guitar Center are all the low end ones; cheap pickups and rosewood fretboards. Some of the necks are a bit chunky, too, but overall they play fairly well. You could snag a Warlock for $300, replace the fretboard and pickups, and make it into a kickass guitar. Their high end ones start at 500 and go up, though, but if you lurk around ebay you find great deals. The Stealth has an ebony fretboard and a humbucking DiMarzio pickup.

  • @bigAshizzle do you know what model pickup? and ive always wanted to try one of those natural wood colored neck thru mockingbirds. thats one nice ass guitar and thats a big gripe with ibanez that i have is that they REFUSE to give us a good neck thru. the rgt42 is decent and same eith the xiphos but everything else is bolt on

  • @deathcore1239 The Chuck Schuldiner tribute model has a DiMarzio X2N, but the normal Stealth Pro's come with an EMG 81 bridge pickup and an EMG 85 neck pickup. My Jackson SLSMG had the same EMG's and it sounded really good. I was partial to the bridge pickup though, as the neck position one made its sound a bit muddy.

  • @bigAshizzle well neck pickups arent built for playing the heavy shit so itll never sound good, theyre mostly made for soloing, higher notes etc. but id take a dimarzio over an EMG any day

  • @deathcore1239 Yeah, I agree with you on that one. The Stealth is the first ever DiMarzio carrying guitar I've had and I really like it. Has a nice clean sound, too.

  • @bigAshizzle definately. hows the cleans on an EMG? i heard theyre not great

  • @deathcore1239 I thought it sounded pretty awesome, but it really is all based on opinion. I'd play Tool and whatnot on the clean effect through a Digitech RP350 FX pedal and a Blackheart amp and it was tight.

  • @bigAshizzle i probably wouldnt like the tone much but i havnt really givin it a chance so ill have to see

  • @deathcore1239 For shizzle, broski. I hear 10 gauge Boomer strings are pretty good for tone.

  • @bigAshizzle sorry, im a loyal earnie ball customer hahaha

  • @deathcore1239 That's cool, man, I've heard good things about ernie ball.

  • @deathcore1239 dean has its moments bc rich has just gone to hell fuckin cheapest guitar construction/parts ule ever see ugh

  • @5tartawar i know. and the only new dean i like is the RC7

  • More like ripped off the BC Rich Stealth. What makes me mad is that they claim its an ORIGINAL design. Please...

  • oh i didnt know bc. rich made it first oh well i know now

  • i think it looks more a dean

  • @A7Xwarrior462 Not really...

If your saying they stole the ML your saying DEAN Stolen the Explorer, The Strat, The Les Paul, The Flying V and Even the Telecaster! Its not stealing in this situation. Its becoming inspired by other shapes. I'm sure this model plays better than a dean, though i love deans you get more for your money with ibanez.

  • It has nothing from a Dean ML, it's more like The BC Rich Stealth or Jackson Warrior.

  • ok i have had with everyone complaining at me for saying that i thought looked like a dean but everyone has to disagree

  • Just a matter of perspective.

  • na its not u its the other people who just seem to hate me because i said it looked kinda like a dean ml

plus just so u know i own a DEAN RAZORBACK DIME SLIME BUMBLEBEE

  • wisest yet..

  • what effects does muhammed use ?

  • @juku223 I wouldn't know. but judging from his style. he uses your standard metal distortion. and possibly a noise gate to cut out excess feedback. it basically cleans out his tone and lets everything come out more clean.

  • i just picked up my xiphos from the shop...had emg 81/85 pick ups and a floyd rose bridge installed, now its made for metal perfection. \m/

  • I don't have an issue with the Edge 3 :P I'm sure over time it'll wear down(apparently most tremelo systems aside from the ZR trem have a knife edge that eventually makes the guitar stay in tune less over a period of years unless it's replaced) but I didn't have any issues. I also don't like EMGs: I may replace one of the pups on mine with a seymore duncan but i've always loved dimarzio.

  • @Grunge00125

I too am not a big fan of active pickup tone. Especially EMGs.

  • @imixers same here I put BKP in mine... sounds insane. I have a Back up Xiphos with a BKP in the bridge and kept the Dimarzio in the Neck position.

  • @imixers if you do need an active pickup, for volume or gain, I suggest the Blackout by seymour duncan. I feel the same way about pickups, but the Blackouts sound really good in my 8 string.

  • @fordmike wrok on, dude

  • Warrior > Xiphos

  • you my brother know your shit haha. warriors are the best.

  • @EvilConcept I know what you mean with the look it looks very similar!

But at the same time i want a 27 frets at an affordable price Jacksons are real fucking awesome! but personally my money is with the 27 fret xiphos.

  • what is the first song that plays i think its by necrophaigst, right?

  • Seven - Necrophagist

  • i wanna buy this fantastic guitar! i've got another one ibanez. a ibanez gio

  • this has the edge III bridge, it sucks.

  • should i buy this guitar or jackson rr3?

  • rr3 all the way

  • The Xiphos is a rip off from the Warrior, but that's because you can't get any more original shapes that don't look ridiculous. The Xiphos is slightly different though. But, if I had to choose, I would go with the Warrior.

P.S. doesn't the Edge III not alter the other string notes when you bend one.

Ex) With a Floyd Rose, play an open D, and bend the 5th on A without picking it. The D string will change pitch. Does the Edge not do that or something. What's the difference between the two?

  • They mean Jackson Warrior rip off...

  • jackson doesn't have the super thin neck ibanez has and doesn't use dimarzio passive humbuckers with the revolutionary edge tremolo

  • You obviously haven't played many Jackson's guitar n00b.

Edge tremolo isn't revolutionary at all lol

  • @666wrathofheaven666 i've played the warrior and the dinky models, the neck is ok but it's still doesn't have the AANJ of ibanez . if an ibanez neck is damaged it can be replaced. the the edge it revolutionary. it's so freaking annoying to cut off the ball ends of stryings just to put it in

  • It's not revolutionary lol

  • Jackson FTW

  • I agree completely, I do not like the Xiphos

  • got this guitar today and it is simply amazing. Japanese craftsmanship at its best! Makes me proud of my heritage! The DiMarzios are the best!

  • muhammed sounds lik skwisgaar skwidelf

  • muhammed is so adorable

  • Nah i think EMGs really are the best, for rock and metal, DiMarzio 2nd EMG and thats really all that i like, i am getting and EMG 81 and 89 or 89r Active pickups for my Ibanez, but im going to use my DiMarzios in one of my other guitars:P They really are good pickups, but i like my friends sound that he is gettng through EMG, but he has 81 and 60 in his guitar

  • What are you talking about? DiMarzio's are fantastic pickups EMG's arent that great dude they can make a guitar sound dry and thinny as fuck. I'll stick with my Duncan's.

  • @Dimebag08RIP Relax... It is just their opinion..
