  • Im no Christian but even I can tell Rob Bell is a heretic

  • Just a point that in we "cannot know anyone's heart" to call Rob Bell a brother is to pass judgment; judgment that he is "a brother" that is why we must evaluate what is taught about God, man, the gospel, scripture.

  • Wow thank you so much for this video, as someone who has been personally involved with street evangelism and now someone who values and respects the ministry of Rob Bell, thank you for your thoughtful honest and considerate response

  • rob bell is great..,

  • You seem like a very sincere guy. But like so many videos on YouTube: what's the point. It is like email; someone says one thing, then someone replies, and before you know it feelings are hurt and lives destroyed. Preachers and YouTube-video producers beware.

  • I support rob bells vid cs iv seen first hand the negative impact it has on non believers. all people hear is religious condemnation and religion is what people are sick of, rob explains the Bible in a way that people can relate to & understand in a non-repulsive non-religious way though it is importand to read the Bible and listen to the Holy spirit for your own relationship & understanding of God and not only rely on the teachings of a preacher. rob bells teaching is inline with Gods Word!

  • your first three points are cool but your last two are pretty weak dude....it's not hard to see that open air preaching doesn't work, and from someone who used to do it and has been around it, i highly doubt you have many friends that have repented and put there faith in christ from it....i am for sure calling you out on that.... there a difference from preaching open air in a church parking lot with invited friends and a dude on the street corner telling repent or burn in hell

  • did everybody here forget that BULLWHIP was sattire?

  • thank you....

:) supporting EVERYTHING with scripture....thats the only way to go!!

    God bless

  • Right on! You hit the nail dead center. Preach Christ and his word.

  • This is great video. Good job supporting it biblically.

  • Interesting, you say you can't take his word for it, but you take a handful of writers of the Bible word for it. You tell people why they should live the way they live only by "what the Bible says." This doesn't work for for the majority of people. Give people reasons why they should live like Christ, not just because "the Bible says it." I can't think of a more illogical statement by itself. Use proper logical arguments to make points. Oh, one more thing, the Scripture IS emotion. Experience it

  • Where does the scripture say it is emotion??

The Bible is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword- Hebrews 4:12

Jesus said "it is written", Paul said "preach the word", the Bible is alive with power to convert the sinner, not some flemsy excuse to be emotional. Emotionalism is what led Eve to sin in the garden.

It led Samson to get his eyes burned out.

It led Peter to deny christ.

Ect. ect. I hope you study to show yourself approved to God who needs not be ashamed!

  • So what exactly "approves" us to God? Is it an action or a mental state? Is is doing good works or simply believing in Him? Don't deny that the Bible is full of emotional cries to God (in a good way).

  • 1 Timothy says that the bible is God breath and is sufficient for teaching and correcting.

  • I Thank God for you brother.

  • THANK YOU! Please continue to fight for the truth. Not many these days are.

  • I think the REAL issue for Rob Bell and his followers is one of theological differences. There is a fundamental difference on the meaning of the atonement, for example. Just WHY did Jesus have to die? Open Air preachers take the traditional view: "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." (Heb. 9:22b) Bell considers this "cosmic child abuse." These Emerging Church leaders must get their theology from the Bible, not from Catholic mystics!

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this video! As a budding open air preacher who, yes, uses a bullhorn, all I can say is you explained this BIBLICAL ministry well. I don't know why more Christians can't follow seeker-friendly Bill Hybel's HOW TO BE A CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIAN book's approach, that identifies 6 evangelism styles. Open Air preaching would fall under "Confrontational," which is a legitimate, biblical style. Let's open our minds, folks, unless it's really a theological issue here.

  • Thanks brother! I though I was alone. Thanks for arguing this in a thoughtful, loving, but firm way using scriptures. It troubles me to hear too many new preachers throwing away old tried and true methods of preaching God's word. What is pragmatic is not necessarily what God wants. God wants pastor's to "Preach the Word" without help, manipulation, nor addition. Without sin, hell, and repentance, the Gospel is not given. So, if this is eliminated, then this must be a false Gospel.

  • awesome. simply awesome

  • Keep on walking with God and proclaiming the Truth in love brother!

  • I completely agree with this response.....GREAT JOB

  • i rly respect how u handled this of course u said things i dont rly agree with but i do appreciate comin across a response that is not provoking or ignorant but sound and courteous i must say that my view is just that screaming the message at ppl in my experience isnt productive its destructive bc more ppl tend to distance themselves frm generalized judgement now in some cases inyourface preaching is necessary but we need to remain respectful to those who surround us no one wants to be belittled

  • Openrebuker, i think you are somewhat true, we should not allow people to think it is ok to keep on sinning. However, "turn or burn" is not a real message. Becaues it causes people to turn because they don't want to burn. Instead we are called to turn away form sin not because we're "supposed to" or "beacuse we'll burn" but rather because we Love God. Jesus didn't command Zacheius to repent before he went to dinner with him. If we get them to love God, they'll stop sinning. Simple approach.

  • tool2scream05, This is not an attack by any means, but this is what Jesus (who is Lord) said--

Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom you should fear, fear he whom has the power to cast you into hell after death, yea I say unto you fear him.

"turn or burn" is a real message

  • This also is not an attack, i hope to be as Christ-like in my response as you were in yours. The only problem with using "Jesus said it" or "the prophets said it" is that both Jesus and the Prophets said "turn or burn" to those who were already Jews. They said it to those who had already "believed" but were living in sin. Those who had totally lost what their first love. Turn or burn doesn't work for someone who doesn't believe hell exists. So yes, turn or burn is a real message to Christians.

  • Awesome response. Thanks for using scripture.

  • i'm a rob bell fan, but i think you did a good job of expressing your opinions in this video. and you backed up about everything you said with Scripture which usually helps to combat any sort of christian arguments. but i did disagree with one point, and that was that i think rob was adressing the "hell-fire and brimstone" preaching. i agree with rob on this point: i don't think it works anymore. if you spend all your time talking about hell you'll never get to the best part-love. grace & peace.

  • If God took humanity first through the law and warned of judgement to come ie hell-fire and brimstone before He shared His love to save people from it, we dare not come up with a new method because it feels better.

  • sry to respond a month later, i never check these, cept for now obviously....

but i don't think God talked completely about judgement and all that, in fact the law is all about love if you read into it. Jeshua is not about warm happy feelings, you want those go see medea's family reunion[what i cred?!]; but one thing cannot be denied:God is love and He always has been, alpha omega forever. grace&peace

  • Very good. It is so refreshing to hear simple truth. Thank you.

  • Well done brother ! awesome vids

  • Spot on! Christians should critically view everything and test it true against the Bible.

  • Great job brother! Keep doing what you're doing! Praise God.

  • hey dude those were some good points. I just want to say man I think this all is being taken very much out of context I mean I got nothing wrong with someone preaching on a corner I mean if thats what they are supposed to do then do it. But people that use the turn or burn approach which is what I was relating to when rob Bell made this video, they almost take an approach of I am scared of hell so let me just ask Jesus into my life so I wont burn and not out of love. Would love to hear back!

  • The reason why we preach the way we do is because it is the truth. The Bible clearly teaches that if you don't turn to Jesus, you will Burn in hell. A lot of people think that doesn't sound loving, but that would imply that God's word isn't loving. God's word says that Jesus is the only way to heaven (John 3:36 & John 14:6). We don't feel that God's word needs to be covered up. Telling them "God loves you" will just let them keep on sinning. We preach mercy as well as fire also.

  • ONLY preaching a message of "God loves you, God bless you, Or God forgives." ..Will not bring anyone to true repentance. We have to tell them the truth, that God is NOT okay with sin and that people need to repent and turn to Jesus before it is everlastingly too late.

  • very well done my brother! God be with you in all aspects of your life. God bless...

  • Well said. this guy is well spoken and biblically accurate. This is spoken with tact

  • I just finished reading Rob Bell's book "velvet elvis" and it pretty much confirms he will lead alot of young immature Chistians into apostacy. He is a Heritic. I hope he repents before judgement day.

  • HOW DARE YOU try to confront my emotional, biblically uneducated passion for my favorite ear-tickler, Rob Bell, with your narrow, non-relavent BIBLE VERSES!

Dude, don't you get it - it's not working. Nobody wants to hear God's Word anymore - and I think the people are just laughing at you.

If you want an objective standard to judge what is right and wrong, why don't you put down your tired, old bible and get yourself Rob's videos - let them be the standard.

    (Seriously, great job, Tim.)

  • This is my response to your response of his response...lol. LET IT GO PEOPLE. Go do something instead of "straining gnats".

  • You mean like go out and share the gospel in public, obeying Jesus Christ, showing concern for lost sinners, and then having Belladelphians strain the gnats and defend a unbiblical video (bullhorn)?? Is that your idea? How did you have time to write us? Please read Roman 3:4, thanks:)

  • yawn

  • You mean like go out and share the gospel in public, obeying Jesus Christ, showing concern for lost sinners, and then having Belladelphians strain the gnats and defend a unbiblical video (bullhorn)?? Is that your idea? How did you have time to write us? Please read Roman 3:4, thanks:)

  • Luk 14:23 "And the master said to the slave, 'Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.

Rom 10:15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"

1Co 1:18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

  • Tell God it doesn't work.

Jer 7:27 "You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you; and you shall call to them, but they will not answer you.

  • This verses mentioned in the video are the following;

Jer 20:7 I have become a laughingstock all day long; Everyone mocks me.

Jer 20:8 For each time I speak, I cry aloud; I proclaim violence and destruction...

Jer 20:9 But if I say, "I will not remember Him Or speak anymore in His name," Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; And I am weary of holding it in, And I cannot endure it.

  • So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it,Isaiah 55:11.

  • Very good,very biblical!

  • Good form Timotheus.

  • Wow, what an excellent response. It was Loving, Biblical, thoughtful, and well spoken. It was wonderful, Praise God!

  • Timotheus333,

An erudite response replete with scripture citations...keep up the good work!

  • Great response!
