Patty is always a treat and a rare talent indeed . I never miss an opportunity to see her when she comes to Minneapolis . Can't wait to open and play her new CD -25 .
Patty is one of my biggest influences as a songwriter, and her fingerstyle ain't too shabby either. If anyone wants to know, the tuning for this is DADGAD, a popular alternative tuning, used in a lot of Irish influenced music and fingerstyle
I thought it sounded like DADGAD... there is a wonderful tab for Amazing Grace as arranged for DADGAD online .. very nice and simple and sounds awesome. Check it out.
Love Patty!! Been a fan since seeing her at The Ark in 97. Interesting that she's playing Banish Misfortune/Open Hand without the capo on th 3rd fret.
Turned on to her by my own talented musical friends, I've seen her once @ Music At the Mission West Milford, NJ she was AWESOME. Could hardly even believe the gift.
I LOVE Patty Larkin. I have seen her live as often as she comes out my way. The best guitarist/performer around. Please come around again Patty, I need a fix of your fabulous playing!!!
The "prelude" is a guitar piece titled "Banish Misfortune/Open Hand" from her "Angels Running" CD (same as "Who Holds Your Hand").
She is a remarkable live artist, a gifted guitarist and vocalist with a great sense of comedic timing. I've gotten to see her three times now when she's appeared in Lawrence, KS.
She does have one live CD out, "a gogo", which I recommend highly, but if you get a chance, see her live.
