  • Thanks for the upload. Why didn't you mention that the orchestra is the legendary Moscow Virtuosi?

  • Menuhin conducts without the score.

  • great!

  • excellnet!!

  • Genius!

  • Im in 9th grade and we are playing this and we have only had 3 rehersals and i got a concert on saturday plus three other songs oh fooey. Second violin part is hard

  • This song has a direct affect on the brain's function. This is a Mozart Effect piece.

  • Such a tender music which, just because of its tenderness and delicacy, is difficult to be understood and felt nowadays. Our time has taught us to value rudeness and brutality above all. And we pay dearly for it!

  • 2nd violin... that one part with the endless sixteenths.. lol fun.

  • @jihanskate yeah, and their not even the melody!

  • This piece proves second violins work just as hard, if not harder, than firsts.

  • It's beautiful very well !!! 3&1:Mocart+orcestra+Menuhin=Genium L'art

  • Awesome second violin fast part!

  • Awesome, why don't more orchestra use these original bowings?

  • que alegria para el espiritu

  • beautiful

  • I can't believe all the childish comments here.

"My car is great. Your car sucks. My car goes faster - 'cuz it's red!!"

Each of the great composers from Dowland to Glass has his or her strong points

& weak, and a mature listen enjoys each in their season, or not: tastes being infinitely diverse.

Grow up boys & girls, and maybe take a music appreciation class along the way...

  • Los solistas de Moscú

  • Muchas gracias, me encanta. Me has hecho feliz!!!

  • Felicidades!

Ha sido increible escuchar esta pieza tan bien interpretada.

    Muchas gracias!

  • Absolutely perfect :)))

  • thank goodness I wasn't there...I would jump up and hug and kiss the maestro!!! He is LIVING the piece <3 <3 <3

  • great piece.....for every instrument but the cellos! Such a boring part!!!

  • Habe Link, gesetzt, danke!

  • too fast: in this way it looses the inside "dramaticity"

  • 2nd violins and violas were awesome :D

  • awesome?? maybe you suggest a correction!

  • Absolutely Amazing!

  • Nietzsche said "Without music, life would be an error", and I say "Without Mozart, music would be an error". Is not it ?

  • @edosalp

Yeah, you know, because mozart was THE greatest composer. Bach? Vivaldi? Telemann? Salieri? Haydn? Fuck those losers. Their music was OBVIOUSLY flawed, and they all needed Mozart's corrections, otherwise music as we know it would SUCK.

Obviously sarcasm. I don't understand why everybody loves mozart so much. He is brilliant, and his melodies are catchy and memorable, but NEVER forget the brilliant composers of his day. He was not the only prodigy to exist.

  • @Samoriah You are rigth, all of them were extraordinary musicians, also Handel, Rameau, ecc, BUT, Mozart is the jewel of the crown.

  • @edosalp

Of all the child prodigy composers, I still prefer Telemann. I'm a baroque kind of guy, maybe it's just bias. Bach was arguably more important to the history of music than Mozart. I really like Mozart a lot, but I just don't hold him to the same standard as everybody else does.

  • whats noise?

  • We are playing this song right now in school...my hand is killing me...but it's pretty

  • very good! che stile!

  • I am learning this in my school orchestra and it is not easy. They play it very well though.

  • Loved it!!! Very steady and musical sounded like a quartet every section sounded like 1 instrument

  • I like the breakdown at 2:21

  • @beradification i like 0:00 - 3:59

  • This piece was crazy hard to play, but it was so much fun at the same time. Though, I couldn't compare myself to these guys. They're just genius, and SO amazing.

  • bajo la batuta del màs grande violinista, cuando comencè a estudiar violin, este caballero, cuya especialidad es Bach, me inspirò en mis primeros años de estudios

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This lifts my spirits to heaven. Mozart was a gift from God that still keeps giving today!!!!

  • Isn't it weird that Life doesn't suck so much while a Mozart Divertimento is being played? Praise God!

  • Bob Hoskins on the first violin section

  • 2:28 is killing for the 2nd violins...

Great piece, maybe a bit too fast, but that's my personal preferance.

    Thanks for uploading!

  • @RavenMischke LOL my teacher calls them noodles XD hahah. I switched to 1st :) lol

  • @Grobanite122549 Yup, same here, noodles :)

  • our school's (Tallinn Music High School) orcestra is playing that piece .. it's not easy ;) :D

  • perfect tempo

  • I know...hmmm...less than squat...about classical music, and my goodness, is this a beautiful piece. And seeing their visual ministrations makes it "almost" more enjoyable than merely hearing it. Gawd, such smooth and fluid motion. I want to thank the musicians for their hours of practice to bring this beauty to the masses. Applause ensues.

  • its funny!!

  • why is it so fast?

  • @scottjlee98 because that is specified in the score

  • @scottjlee98 Probably because the conductor prefered it in this speed.

  • Spiritedness - Humor - Love - Wisdom - Genius!!!

  • they play grace notes fully?

  • menuhin's conducting is very demanding and for trained listeners.listen to a slower version to understand all the minor melodies. its like a harmony exercise, in a simple fashion. made by a genius though..

  • OMGAWD?! How amazing!

  • It's good. But Too fast!

  • agility is a prerequisite for Mozart--he must dance

  • @gihahm - well...I love this tempo, I conduct it exactly in this tempo, too... :)

  • whats that compisition thats alot like this but a bit more staccato? Could someone please help me?

  • Mozart wrote some quite good tunes

  • @LeamingtonSteve "Some quite good tunes"??????'i think he is the best composer of every times!

  • indeed so, my Italian friend. I was deliberately understating his genius for effect.

  • @LeamingtonSteve - that is an understatement...

  • sphere- I think WAM is my favourite composer.

  • Esta grabacion es esplendida!

  • 2nd violin superb !!!

  • i wanna play this piece soo bad this quick!!!!(i dont play it fast enough) its sooo much fun!!!

  • the 1st violin part is what i want to play

  • Ha! Have to laugh! I tried SO hard to play this on the mandolin! Frustrated the snot out of me! This may be my most favored Mozart piece. Out of Africa with Meryl and Robert in the bushes with the baboons!

  • 2;27 - 2:40 is absolute gem

  • ma io volevo vede gigi d'agostino!perkè c'è mozart?ma qui non siamo a bruxelles?chi sono io?

  • This is such a fun piece!!!! I love it love it love it love it!! I would listen to this every night before I went to sleep when I was a child.

  • Can Any ONe Give me the Orchestra Piece for this??? Plzzzzzzzzz

  • !no! i cant. YAYYYY!!

  • I can copy the second violin part for you, but that's all I have....sorry

  • Do you want the orchestral score?

  • oh god this is fucking beautiful!

  • OMG! so so so amazing!!!

i cant be better. i love it!!!

  • i cant be better. great english!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Menuhin's conducting.

    Great!

  • @almeronfilms

Is this Yehudi Menuhin, the violin virtuoso?

  • @JupiterIV Yes

  • Man how did they get Mozart to play double bass in their group?

  • what???

  • LOL you are right!

  • actually you're right, the dude does look like an older version of the Lange portrait Mozart

  • The only reason it looks out is because the picture is a split second behind the audio. You only have to listen to them

  • Full of joy--that was true of Master Menuhin and Sir Menuhin....

  • ._. umm we don't care about your opinion.

  • fuck!! why do we allways have to look for something wrong? do you think your more inteligente than other people?

  • Stop nonsensing! Just close your eyes and listen. NO need to Argue about stupid sync or whatever!

  • Comment removed

  • The audio - video is out of sync significantly. Ruined my enjoyment somewhat. Still sounds great.

  • I don't see any sync problems with the audio/video. I've been watching the musicians and they're "in time" with the music.

  • VERY obvious at 0:22, 1:12-1:21

It's more clear if you watch their fingers.

  • You don't play a stringed instrument, do you? What you're seeing is what you're hearing. The celli are playing their part at :22, namely a bass rhythm. The violist is playing his part at 1:12, some of that involves syncopation. Just because you hear the first violins predominate doesn't mean that the other sights you see aren't right. As somebody that can play all four parts you hear, trust me, the audio/video isn't off.

  • As someone who has played this piece in a string quartet several times, trust me: you're wrong. Watch the second violins' bows. They play their notes on time.

  • By the way, it's obvious you haven't played the viola. It's none of the junk you describe the passage to be. It's syncopation, plain and simple.

  • I've seen the music for this viola part and yes, it's quavers at that section, moving to crotchets. Anyway, don't care so much for the visuals here, the audio is great.

  • It pretty obvious that the audio is off at 2:38, but no one cares; this piece was amazingly executed.

  • It's pretty obvious no one cares for your petty incorrect remark.

  • i just noticed that none of them have a shoulder rest OR a chin rest on their violins

thats truly amazing how they can still play and shift despite that

  • Erm.. The guy around 1:15 does have a shoulder and I believe a chin rest also.

Not really clear, youtube vid quality is minimal ;)

  • Oh.........

well i still cant imagine how baroque violinists can play like that

  • Staggeringly well done.

  • who says the older fellas can't rock out?

  • there is no landing... its just a half note

  • please explain.. i have been thinking about this all day long

  • They played the last note just as written: a quarter note with a dot on top.

  • gooood

  • very well! WOW! Ya'll are amazing! I play in the the orchestra, & I hope to be as good as THEY are one day...long practice, and lots of mistakes, but I'll get there some day!!! :)

  • Maravilloso,Yehudi.Mozart,que decir.

  • MOZART was fucking 16 years old.

    no comparison

  • Schoenberg's music can't compare to this?

  • Different eras, different goals for the purpose of music. Comparing the two is like comparing the taste of apples and oranges. Yum!

  • Hah, of comparisons with Schoenberg and Mozart... I'll put it this way: _If_ Mozart is in Hell then he's confined cell where they play nothing but Schoenberg.

  • i strongly recommend the version by tom koopman and the minnesota orchestra

  • long live mozart and with this combination with mr menuhin what else can you ask for

  • Excellent for me... Something strange bar 87 first beat : cellos playing "h" instead of "d". The broken harmonic relation sounds good here but not according to Bärenreiter ? Someone played it with "h" or is it Menuhin's idea ?

  • Thanks for the chills up my spine!

  • Yup. That's what this did to me too!

  • The tempo IS ALLEGRO, this is awesome, sounds WONDERFUL!

  • Stop crying about the tempo, and just listen to the music. The speed is perfect this way, the dynamics are there, the coordination is flawless.

  • Im thirteen and doing my Violin grade sevon, My string orchestra played it this fast at least and it was not hard to practice, so stop complaing about the tempo...

  • actually i dont think it is really that hard....... as i said i find the tempo my likeing and i could play that if i pratised trust me mate.....

  • nice! i wish i was in that orchestra......... i like the tempo my liking and also the dynamics lovely sounds.....

  • It's a little too fast, isn't it?

  • I dont think so... The tempo is allegro.. However, the choise of a tempo is not something standard.. As a matter of fact i cant tell you are wrong.. but i like this tempo but most of all the spirit which is given by the orchestra..!

  • Really wonderful!!! Marvellous ideas by Menuhin!!! A real master...

  • The choice of tempo is not something that is standart...however, if you make the tempo ridiculous, you are not able to appreciate the beauty of the music that Mozart wrote!

  • I dont think it is ridiculous... and this because exactly it gives you the possibility to appreciate this music... it is a tempo suitable to a divertimento! Great Menuhin!.. wonderful orchestra!

  • I dont think so... The tempo is allegro.. However, the choise of a tempo is not something standard.. As a matter of fact i cant tell you are wrong.. but i like this tempo but most of all the spirit which is given by the orchestra..!

  • I agree with you...it's way too fast. Seriously, how hard do you think they had to practice this in order to get it perfect when it's this fast...I bet the presto movement is ridiculous!!!

  • még ez hasonlít a legjobban az eredetire! de isteni.

it is maybe the same than the oroginal but not the same really...but it is the best, what i found from Mozart-Divertimento K136-1

    i love ....!!!

  • This is the fastest tempo I've heard so far. I wonder how fast he takes the Presto movement. Excellent.

  • gracias hermosa pieza musical... AAAAAH!!!! MOZART

  • Awesome, a tad fast, try to find the one by the Camerata Salzburg and Sandor Vegh (or the one i got to hear live by Schlern 2007!)

  • Excellent but is not fantastic.Ritmical is not equal

  • fantastic!

  • なかなかいい

  • A very pleasing performance.

  • yay!

  • Beautiful version, although I like mine just a little more up-tempo. Not complaining. Mozart rules! ( a comment for the kiddies)

  • thats very condescending

  • finally! a good version of my favourite Mozart divertimento on youtube! thanks alot!

  • Excellent. One of my favourite Mozart divertimenti; a great sense of closure and wonderful phrasing.

  • gracias !!

  • may i know the orchestra's name?

  • OMG, thanks for putting this up..

    we are just doing piece..

    plus....my favorite MENUHIN!!!!
