  • You know... they still had this block until they f*cked up with Disney XD. I mean they don't have to completely re-arrange the network, just give us a two hour block

  • ok if they can bring us The 90's are all that on nick what about disney man we need this back

  • ok if they can bring us The 90's are all that on nick what about disney man we need this back and call it disney classics

  • OMG this brings back so many good memories from my childhood. I remember this intro even brought my assurance. Yes, I agree with ccipollini1984. No stupid crap the grown up life gives me now did I have to worry about when this was new. Thanks for posting this.

  • I wish TV channels (like Disney Channel or ABC 13) would return The Disney Afternoon instead of having Cartoon Network air Adult Swim all of the time. ADULT SWIM - BAD (TAKEN OFF THE AIR). THE DISNEY AFTERNOON - GOOD (RE-RUNS OF DUCKTALES, LILO & STITCH THE SERIES, DARKWING DUCK, TALESPIN, GOOF TROOP, LLOYD IN SPACE, GARGOYLES, THE WEEKENDERS, ALADDIN THE SERIES, QUACK PACK, THE LITTLE MERMAID, DOUG - DISNEY AND KIM POSSIBLE).

  • I really wonder what happened to these animators.

  • Omg! I used come straight home right after school and turn the T.V. on right away to watch Disney Afternoon! It was the light of my day! XD And an excuse not to do my homework. >.<

  • @ShadowFoxSTARS used to even. Typo. >.<

  • Well I'm pretty sure that all of us who used to watch this are all grown up by now!

And since we miss on what used to be broadcast on television don't you think that some of us who misses these types shows and syndications should try and bring these back on TV??? We may not bring back the past, but at least bring out some memeories and share it to the younger viewers on what we saw when we were their age??? Surely the people who created them are old. Now why not WE try and bring them back?

  • In germany it was called "Disney club"

  • Sadly..Disney is dead, the only good thing they did was kingdom hearts letting japan use their Disney people. I pick 80s and 90s over anything now on disney, at least nick is alive

  • @Allelujah19 Nick is alive??? It used to be called Nickelodeon and now it's called NICK! Plus the shows are not as good as the old shows were in the 90's . Doug, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, and Rocko's Modern Life. And Nick Jr use to show animes! I stopped watching TV. because today's show SUCKS!!!!! But it doesn't matter, because one day today's shows will end eventually and soon enough the younger viewers will feel how WE feel for missing the good old days!

  • @Allelujah19 I wish Disney would release another Kingdom Hearts game with characters from DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Doug (Disney Version), The Princess Diaries, Enchanted, The Princess & The Frog, Tangled, Cars, Lloyd in Space, American Dragon Jake Long, Fish Hooks and Quack Pack.

  • I really hate to e-bitch, but good God. Bck when we didn't have to worry about bills, relationships, health and life in general. Our only real concern was the possible existence of the Boogyman and who got the cereal toy first. This is so bittersweet it's insane. Disney is going through a dark period now, just like in the mid 80's. Hopefully it will once again have a rennisance...

  • @ccipollini1984 HEARD THAT. What a simple time it was back then when my biggest stress was my book report. What I'd give for this time again when this was the highlight of my day

  • ah yes right after a hard day of hitting the books what better then to sit in front of the tv with a bowl of cereal and watch he disney afternoon. Ah childhood was the shit at times.

  • i miss the old shows

  • Watch this show with Mickey

  • Disney has enough animated gold in their vault that could end the children's entertainment recession.

  • @Nic7942 The style of cartoons was different in the 90's. Detailed storylines and actual hand drawn quality were used back then. There was heart put into the shows, in how it was drawn and written.

  • @mrgellisjosh These shows had bigger budgets. There were less channels so there was more viewers per channel. There was money to be made on free TV cartoon segments back then. We had Saturday morning, Weekday morning and afternoon cartoon segments all on free TV. This doesn't exist anymore. Cartoons lost their novelty in the sea of the low budget satellite/digital cable mediocrity exists today. I would trade the 500 channels for crap we have now for the 5 channels we had back then.

  • Swat Kats. Hanna-Barberra's 90's awesome show that rivals / beats most of this.

I loved 'The Disney Afternoon' though. All the way up to the last actual airings a few years after Tailspin was no longer reran with the newer shows. I don't think they cared about Quakpack for too long in terms of quality writing, they must of known the whole franchise was going to end as they aired it.

  • @Nic7942 Don't you know Foofy and his son Nax?? That was a pretty good show, I remember how Oete always tried to scam the people and took advantage of poor Foofy...

  • @Kagereneko 'Goofy' and his son 'Max'. 'Pete' was the neighboor.

  • @mrgellisjosh Facepalm...

  • i was born 1995 in sweden and i have wondered for quite long time what intro where used in the "Disneydags" (Disney Time) show, and here it it is thanks for uploading.

    Todays cartoons are bullshit.

  • Here in Denmark this is still being send every friday

  • @anto210695 There lucky for seeing such great stuff my Nordic friend!

  • Now this is the true Disney not the Phineas and Ferb or Hanna Montana Crap!

  • fuck Phineas and Ferb shit, this stuff kicked ass and always will.

  • I have opened an Official Disney Afternoon Group on Facebook! This group is part nostalgia trip, part campaign to get back Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, Gargoyles, and all the others! I am even going to be keeping track of officers (even if the group doesn't allow them...). So join The Official Disney Afternoon Group, please!!!

  • Not everything on XD is bad. I like that I can watch the Marvel stuff I grew up on and Phineas and Ferb is great. The rest can go and get replaced with these cartoons.

  • the one person who disliked this likes Disney XD

  • aw this is what i lived for after school! thanks! God Bless

  • I always wondered why did't Mickey get a series in the 90's? Goofy got Foof Troop, Donald got Quack Pack and a bit of Duck Tales, Chip and Dale got Rescue Rangers... I was expecting to see a series with a badass Mickey but that never happened...

  • Could You Upload The Newer Disney Afternoon Intro With Characters From DuckTales, Kim Possible, TaleSpin, Phineas & Ferb, Darkwing Duck, Fish Hooks, The Little Mermaid, The Replacements, Goof Troop, Lilo & Stitch The Series And American Dragon Jake Long.

  • we might not see these shows on tv anymore, but at least Disney is nice enough to release the DVDs and release brand new comics of rescue rangers and Darkwing duck, they are keeping both old fans and the youth happy, just wish disney would release fun cartoons, but then again they have to be careful because it can be seen as outdated,so they rather stay on whats making them money, and that is these sitcoms.

  • holy crap i forgot about this intro. wow memories

  • "You don't know what you've got till it's gone".

  • In "our" version (Norway), Donald got his beak painted, and there was no singing. Can't find it ;/

  • i believe that we should petition the Disney company to have these great shows brought back on the air in some form. maybe create a retro disney channel that plays all the old cartoons, even the short mickey, donald, and goofy cartoons. Who's with me?!

  • I agree. Toon Disney or Disney XD, whateva you wanna call it doesn't show some of the old shows anymore so it would be good if there was another network where you can see all of the stuff you mentioned. I would love to see the return of Vault Disney.

  • @curleybags1 That's what I've been saying man!!!

  • The sheer amount of effort and attention to detail that was involved moves me to tears. They weren't even targeting prime time! Too bad technology marches on, and these days you need to be just good enough to keep your rating targets in line. The worst of both worlds.

  • Somewhere in my pile of cassettes, I actually still have the album disney put out of all these shows theme songs, aww the memories........Please subscribe to our page when you get a chance and check out our newest cop skit "A couple of dicks"

  • Wow, this almost brought a tear to my eye. This song reminds me of pretty much every day after school. Hearing this song come on and getting all excited to sit there and watch amazing shows for hours..... ah to be a kid again.

  • The Only Shows of Today that are worthy of being on Disney Afternoon is Jimmy Two Shoes, Kid Vs Kit & Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, mostly because there funny & have a George Lucas Throwback feel to them, & yes I got that from TV Tropes, however I that just my option.

  • I really did take the 90s for granted. I take my words back.

  • Oooh, sad to say that hand-drawn animation is becoming obsolete now.

  • Best Disney show ever made!!! Fuck that Disney Channel shit, BRING THIS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lovehamsters14 BRING THIS BACK? WITH WHAT?

  • @Serdikhan I mean, they should bring this show back along with Timon and Pumbaa, Aladdin series, and all of the other 90s Disney shows that were canceled.

  • @lovehamsters14 What for? These shows have lost their new car smell years ago. The only way for these shows to be on tv is if Disney makes a new Toon Disney channel made for reruns of old cartoons. You can bet they won't be removing their live-action sitcoms due to their high popularity, very weak hatedom and the fact they made the Disney Channel more popular than it ever was.

  • @Serdikhan BECAUSE they were infinity times better than than the Disney Channel crap!

  • @lovehamsters14 Not in this time period, there aren't. And cussing doesn't help. Guess what "Wizards of Waverly Place" is gettig a rare Season 4 installment and the hit series "The Suite Life One Deck" is getting its own Disney Channel original movie. You much be a COMPLETE IDIOT if you though the Disney Afternoon was gonna last forever. You need lots and lots of new shows and episodes for that to happen. The fact that the Disney Channel is more popular now than it ever was doesn't help matters.

  • @Serdikhan This time period sucks! Disney channel is so dumb and boring and a lot of people don't like Disney Channel. By the sound of it, you hate old Disney. Wizards of Waverly Place scares the hell out of me, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus will probably end up in jail someday, I really hate the new Disney. Someone should just put out all of the classics for kids to see, and Disney Channel would lose all of it's ratings!!!!! It's brainwashing kids!!!

  • @lovehamsters14 Tell what you have to say to Jetix, Cartoon Network and Nickelodean as they're the reason why Disney changed Toon Disney to Disney XD just last year. And losing ratings is why Disney refuses to switch to the 90s. There are barely any 90s cartoons that stand up to 21 century levels. Not only is the animation outdated, the shows' episode plots outdated, the humor outdated, but 2D can almost be added along with them. People want 3D comedy now, not 2D musicals.

  • @lovehamsters14 P.S. Cussing is not gonna change things. You think despite high ratings, hit shows and many opportunities provided, Disney's is gonna remove its live-action sitcoms just because some minor uneffecting hatedom exist for them. The key to success is to keep more than half of the audience happy. So unless more than half the world becomes unhappy and quits providing Disney with everything they need to continue with their live-action sitcoms, you can forget everything you said.

  • Comment removed

  • @lovehamsters14 That's not my problem. 90s cartoons were meant for kids growing up in the 90s, like I was. Kids will eventually learn about the 90s cartoons, so there's nothing to worry about.

  • Comment removed

  • @lovehamsters14 It doesn't really count because the one is cartoons and the other one is live-action sitcoms. Comparing them is like comparing chocolate to bubble gum. And since those kids are on the net and on YouTube, there's nothing preventing them from watching 90s cartoon episodes on the net. Not to mention download torrents full of episodes. Kids can be so selfish, can't they, and not just them.

  • @Serdikhan kids are selfish because of the New Disney shows are teaching them to be like that. That's what I hear. I wouldn't be surprised if they were right.

  • @lovehamsters14 Nice try. How exactly does comedy teach children to be selfish again? They're selfish and greedy from the beginning. It's normal for any kid to be like that. Wanting outdated cartoons to be on TV again will always be an act of selfishness. And don't give me the whole "I'm doing it because of the kids" thing. They just have to learn to except things the way they are. My 6 year-old cousin doesn't have trouble growing up.

  • @Serdikhan I mean they are more selfish than they were before, because of the new disney shows. kids were always selfish, but since the "new shows" came out, there's been WAYYY more. Believe me.

  • @lovehamsters14 ...Remeber the Disney cartoons from the 30s, 40s and 50s? Yeah, look nothing like 90s cartoons, don't they? With their outdated animation, stories, humor and all. 90s cartoons have also joined the "Outdated cartoons" club. Speaking of 'outdated', Disney's Princess movie "Tangled" is going to a comedy instead of a musical, like the90s were. "The Princess and the Frog" was good, but was a bit too 90s for audiences' tastes. Think about that!

  • @Serdikhan No such thing as "Outdated cartoons" club. Princess and the Frog had better animation an the 3D animation. #d animation scares the hell out of me.

By the sounds of it, I think YOU may have been brainwashed by the New Disney.

  • @Serdikhan doubtful, the kids today have ipads, ipods, mp3 players the size of a fingernail, facebook, and other IM's, MMO's and other gaming consoles....they wont want to know about what was better back in the 90's hell the arcades are becoming extinct because kids dont know what to do when hanging at the mall anymore other than mock eachother.

  • @rad4life1 90s kids may not think 90s cartoons were lame, but 2000s kids sure do and so do I, me, the one who was born in the very late 80s and spend his entire childhood with 90s TV. 80s and 2000s cartoons had more effort than 90s cartoons did. It's just children's entertainment for god's sake. Now that the 90s are dead and people refused to let them overstay their welcome we can all move on with our lives.

  • @rad4life1 Well, if moving on means becoming a shallow, ignorant and complacent individual then be my guest, the 80s and 90s cartoons had way more moral integrity than the shit is today

  • This actually made me tear up..Miss these greatly.

  • I was torn between this and The Super Mario Bro Super Show. But the TSMBSS was on just for 30 mins. But both was damn good in cartoon form and video game form. Im happy to say I was a kid in this era. You kids can keep your Spongebob it stop being good after the 3rd season Doug was better.

  • One of the greatest cartoon blocks ever in the history of children.

  • not only were these cool ass toons they also made bad ass video games

  • @odog65 Agreed!

  • I so wish I wasnt born the generation where this has died out. Good stuff gone. If disney were to get these cartoons out with merchandice, THEY WOULD MAKE MILLIONS!!!

I would buy RR merchandice thats for sure. :P

  • @mouseboy14 They've reintroduced "Darkwing Duck" in a comic. "Rescue Rangers" is coming soon.

  • @InYourFaceNewYorker YES!!! I heard about that, and I intend to purchice.

  • WOW this brings back memories. Those of us who were kids during this time know that this is when cartoons were at there best, now they are just dumb.

Disney could really reestablish themselves as the best by putting these shows back on the air. Start by airing the originals and then make new episodes.

  • I'd love it if my kids could grow up on these shows like I did

  • HOW CUTE!!

  • Yeah! "The Disney Afternoon" was the greatest '90s Disney cartoon block. The animation in this intro is just so fluid. :)

  • I prefer 2D over 3D.

  • Aww, sweet memories!

  • I remember this! :)

  • Aw man...where did the good times go? Now all of our classic nastalgia cartoons have been either replaced or metimorphosed into CGI. Hollywood just doesn't know where to stop. )-:

  • @videogamester07 especially for generations to come they are gonna be so boring and plain if they make cartoons

  • what the hell diseny they used to have so many good cartoons now theres barely any

  • I seen of heard about this before years ago.

  • Simply Beautiful.

  • Love it! This is back when Disney had quality TV animation. Not that more recent crap like Phineas & Ferb and Dave the Barbarian.

  • Mickey actually looks good in those clothes in the end.

  • Omg Nostalgic.

  • I remember The Disney Afternoon back then. However, I was unable to watch the afternoon block from 1993-1996 when it was aired on WPHL in Philly because we had cable at the time and our local provider blacked out T.D.A. from that station. I'm not sure why but my local FOX station (WPMT) had some of the cartoons from T.D.A. aired in the Morning back then and I was able to watch a few of them. The blackout would be lifted in 1996.

  • This is the version I grew up with.

  • I remember this After school i annoyed my grandma with it !!!

  • damnit doc wheres that time machine

  • Wow, I remember this like yesterday. Everyday after school I watched this.

  • gummie bears

    ducktales

    darkwing duck

    tale spin

    best line up

  • Wow! I never seen this intro before!

  • bring back the disney afternoon starting with these re-runs:

    1. ducktales

    2. kim possible

    3. lilo & stitch the series

    4. that's so raven

as well as the previews for:

    1. cory in the house

    2. darkwing duck

    3. the weekenders

    4. the suite life of zack and cody

  • @55ifyprincess kim possible, lili and stitich the series, thats so raven, cory in the house and the suite life of zack and cody are not part of the disney afternoon

  • Comment removed

  • I can't remember I ever have seen this version of this intro. The one I can remember is rather new, I have not been able to find an older one I recognize than this one

    watch?v=Bfp4zusaQ5g&feature=related

  • this one doesn't have darkwing duck.

  • Actually he's in there. Towards the right of the screen when they jump off the page and right behind one of the gummy bears on the right. They just don't show a close up of him.

  • WHY DON'T I REMEMBER THIS!!!!!! It sound very familiar but nothing is coming to me. Oh well.

  • God why do cartoons suck so much ass today? Its not because of a generation gap because i liked cartoons before my time as well , companies just don't have the passion for good content anymore.

  • I blame that on the destructive legacy of Nickelodeon and its Nicktoons, they lowered the standards for tv cartoons. Once the other companies saw how successful their "hip and edgy" shows were, they followed suit and slowly but surely lost taste in creativity. That's why nowadays a great deal of what we see in cartoons is crap with very little redeeming value.

  • Spongebob swuare pants is like the 911 of cartoons as we know it. but disney is the most to blame for why cartoons are mess up as they.

  • Well ok, Disney IS responsible for the concept of direct-to-video sequels as far as I know. The conception of "Return of Jafar" was a VERY big mistake, as it was the beginning of a dangerous game... I still blame the competition, though, it make puppets out of everyone.

  • lol you know I actually like that movie but it still doesn't hold a candle to aladdin but it still a classic to me. true disney started that but you have to admit that it's way better then today. it's sad when you watch the disney channel and you can't even see mickey mouse beside his logo(which maybe tottal gone soon) and new kids don't really know who he is.

  • True point, the only reliable place you can ever find classic Disney cartoons(or ANY classic cartoons these days) is on dvd.

  • @Pooleman96

Yeah, I always thought something was up with Nick cartoons that they put out after Rugrats. Like I don't know. They seemed lazy or something.

  • @JuicyPlayer It's because of Entertainment companies lowering their Standards of Creativity, believing that Kids of today won't bother with a well written story line or Character Development & just straight up don't put effort in the a lot of the shows today, another reason is because of Parent Groups & The FCC takes things to far & overreact to pretty much everything, that why cartoons, as well TV in general suck today.

  • @Harlemlate: Sadly, you definitely got that right.

  • i just had seen ducktales again for an hour ago, that was great:D

  • Man, those were the days wasn't it

  • The times when everything was BETTER.

  • Talespin, Goof Troop and Chip N dale rescue rangers were my favorites but Ducktales and Darkwing Duck were great too!. oh the nostalgia :)

  • Does anyone remember why people had such a crush on Gadget?

  • Because she was fine..

  • You are right. She was one curvy mouse.

  • ... Curvy mouse... wooo! i can´'t say no...

  • Hey, do you also have the ending sequence?

  • some of the kids cartoon shows nw just suck! they need to bring back shows from the '90s!

  • yeah I would say bring them back and remake them but there damn sure not going to do that the right way anyway.

  • Oh my god Disney! Bring back the old shows! Can't you see that everyone wants them back??

  • I've seen like 10 versions of Disney Afternoon intros, all with diffrent characters clips in it... Is there somewhere version that has all of them?

  • everything is being thrown in the disney vault

  • We break into the vault and free everything in there.

  • im with u

  • it's funny because everything in the disney vault is worth 1 billion times more then the shit today.

  • @burby8100 I agree, open that vault and let this stuff out and burn disney channel and xd crap!

  • I thought i would never see this again, god bless the uploader :)

  • why is dale the chipmunk crazy

  • He had too much sugar before they began filming.

  • Opposites attract and he is that way for chip. :)

  • Don't get me wrong I also enjoyed Aladdin, Gargoyles (#1 favorite), Hercules, Timon and Pumba, Quack Pack, and Mighty Ducks. But when I think of TDA I just don't think of these shows. I remembered when Disney honored there television animation and its characters. Now it seems they want them to die with obscurity. I really wish that the Ducktales movie did better because they were planning a Rescue Rangers movie for 1991, a Goof Troop movie, and Sequel movies for Ducktales. It breaks my heart.

  • The Goof Troop movies were effectively made as the Goofy Movie series, right? I always wished there was a Talespin movie. "Plunder and Lightning" was close, and the first two parts used the same animation studio as the Ducktales movie. Oh, well. These days it's all about Hannah Montana. At least there's Toon Disney and DVDs.

  • WOW this remember me of the good old times when I was 10 and watched this at the Belgian television... But at 'our' version of the intro (which is still broadcasted every day on a popular Flemish television station for kids nobody was singing, this is the first time that I hear somebody singing during this intro. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing! I'm now 30 years old, and I still love Darkwing Duck, Goofy, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, etc.

  • omg. i think i'm going to cry.LOL. i cant believe i fogot i used to watch this stuff all the time.

  • This block brought back Disney animation!

  • I prefer celluloid animation over CGI.

  • I'll drink to that. Celluloid looks way better than CGI. Moves smoother too.

  • @BenJabituya same here
