@TikalaEchidna16 not exactly. higurashi and umineko ARE separate things, but higurashi is kidna a prerequisite. like you wont be as confused in umineko if u watch higurashi first about multiple planes of existance and chess analogies and such. also, umineko often makes cute references to higurashi (such as in one episode, Maria is watching higurashi).

its not NECCESSARY to watch higurashi first, but itll help a bit with understanding references and how umineko works.

this is such a great song with a story of so much potential. To bad the anime ruined the whole story.If you ever decide to read the actual story and watch the anime youll be "wtf is this shit?" like seriously all the major plots and major character developments are destroyed. Basicly Beatrice was the only one were they got the most devopement and they didnt even do that right. Remember when she relized she was dead. Yeah she actually cared in the story but in the anime she was like "ok kool."

Battler refused to believe of the existence of magic, while he and his entire family were killed for numerous times. Basically, this is a magnificent story about reverse psychology and mind twist. Not to mention that the characters themselves have many interesting backstory and personality. Seriously, you won't regret playing this game. And please don't judge the quality based on the anime.

@LinsAnime1 The anime only consisted the first arc (ep1-ep4) of the whole story. So, it's no wonder that the ending of the anime was like a cliffhanger. If you really want to play this game, there is an english patch. And, you can find the manga translation in many manga sites. I hope this information can help many people who wish to know.
