  • Maremoto is an earthquake under the sea or ocean: Tsunami is Japanese for harbor wave; Typhoon is a hurricane in the Pacific, but not a tsunami; Monsoon in the Indian Ocean; and yes Hurricane from the Taino or Arawak word for the Goddess Huracan in the Atlantic; all three storms are equal in power, but Tsunamis happen whenever too much water is displaced by a mudslide or fallen rock or mountain or large object. Read people. Not just browse.
