Esto es lo que nos ensena la historia del mundo - Revolucion Americana, Revolucion Haitiano, Revolucion Frances, Revolucion Cubana, MAHATMA GHANDI, y la LUCHA por DERECHOS CIVILES EN ESTADOS UNIDOS (gente murieron por lograr esos derechos aunque usaron estrategias de paz).

Nationalism has hurt Puerto Rico more than it has helped it. It has distracted the island from fixing the real problems for over 50 years. I live on the island and I can tell you that people need to put down the flags and instead pick up trash. At least until the island is clean again. Gandhi was a hero and I just can't put this women on that same level. If you put nationalism aside you'd feel the same way. Be a human on planet earth. Forget race and your country, be human. Move forward

@AdamTheGood Of course she is not at the level of Gandhi, he is overrated, she is higher! She is at the level of Mandela. Nationalism as practice by Puerto Ricans is healthy. Is not against them is not imperialistic, is a reaffirmation of who we are. What has hurt Puerto Rico is the traumas caused by colonialism, particularly the last 100 years, where a large part of the population worship the Metropolis while trying to live on welfare, and this includes the rich and the guanabitos...

@zekigpr It's not healthy. It's separation. It's saying that this particular area of our planet is better to be from than some other. It's saying that being one particular race is better than some other. Just be a human and drop all other labels. I'd like to see Puerto Rico be independent, but I have no respect for the independence party or nationalists in PR. You're all going about it the wrong way. Lolita Lebron was a straight up terrorist and two wrongs don't make a right.

To deny one affects the other and creates chaos. Nationality and nationalism in itself is not bad. Nationalism becomes evil when it turns into imperialism, the desire to impose ones sovereignty upon others. Individuals and nations must learn to live in harmony with others. To defend one's nation is good.

This is the face of a real hero. God Bless this extraordinary woman and hopefully others could find strenght on her work. Her cause was very simple, she wanted the Independence from the United States of America just like the USA (guided among others by George Washington) got their Independence from Englad. Her worst sin was to show extreme loyalty and dedication to her beloved country, Puerto Rico. She was and will be a HERO. God Bless her!!!

@ELGREYCO Sencillo, esas cosas el Gobierno estadounidense quiere q se queden en secreto y las nuevas generaciones no las sepan. Sucesos asi han pasado X a~os como lo que realmente paso en la Guerra de Okinawa, Vietnam y la verdad sobre los mas recientes conflictos en Afghanistan e Iraq.
