The use of the word also seems to be misunderstood, as it is not wholly used to describe people of a certain race, rather people whose ignorant behaviour, lack of values and standards warrant the designation "nigger".
The problem with the word "nigger" is that neither "side" is doing anything to help the situation. The word "nigga" (which IS nigger, don't kid yourself) is thrown around liberally by blacks, and racists often use the word in reference to what we often see in low-income black communities, which are unfortunately where the majority of blacks are situated.
In any case, trying to get the word banned or stigmatized is the wrong way to handle this.

The "N" word actually came from Latin America. We're both wrong.
Anyways, you don't seem to know exactly what you're talking about. The N word is the only word in history where people can get killed for saying it. It's stupid. If you called a white person Honkey, or Cracker, we wouldn't care. There are racial slurs for all races, but Black people are the only race that has glorified and held sacred theirs. I appreciate that you fight with such passion, but you should look up the topic at hand.

lol, you should come to my school and see the shit that the black students say to the white students, now im not racist. i have many black freinds, however many black students in my school like to walk around school calling white kids crackers and then beating them up for it, its like they get mugged by a gang, i saw a kid get beaten up and then sent to office for saying "pick her" a kid thought he was saying the n word and shit happened. Where is the justice?

Louis Armstrong's account of his relationship with his manager Joe Glaser is interesting. After Armstrong had made his name, mobsters were facing up to own him. There was a real risk that he would be hurt, and so he chose a manager with enough muscle to protect him. Armstrong put it this way.
"I needed him because everywhere we went he could say 'That's my nigger.' And I was OK."
That is the heritage which gives the word its particular poison. And why it is being reclaimed.

If you really think that then you are totally lost. By you even mentioning the issue of this word let's me and the world know otherwise. It has meaning and will always have meaning. Many have died, namely African Americans, behind the history of this word. Until you can actually be looked at as a human being first without being looked at as a "N-word", then it will always have strength and power.

No eyes. See that is the difference between you and me my friend, I refuse to allow someone to have that ownership over me. We can agree to disagree.
I know the history of the word, and it is ugly, I'm just being practical. Unless you can convince legislators around the world to outlaw the word, its not going anyway.
I just think the N-word is far removed from issues that are happening right now.
