What's sadder? watching a fox eat a unsuspecting mouse as per the universe's designs, OR watching a fox lose his strength as his frame becomes flesh-bare, and gaunt. His ribs protrude and his coat loses luster and pile, he walks drunken like and has trouble seeing... Watching him collapse for lack of food as his flame flickers out.

That mouse is no more scared than a cow or pig at a slaughter house, At least the mouse doesn't feel betrayed by the hand that fed him He thinks, "Shit ,too noisy!"
