  • cool as it gets

  • Proud new owner of an L-series Yamaha. I thought my FG sounded beautiful, and it does, but these are truly amazing, visually and aurally.

  • Really cool to see. THough, I can't really understand how they can call their guitars handmade.

  • @ryantmz True. All of the FG series, as well as the L-6/L-16 series are made in China. The quality is still outstanding.

  • what an irritating dipshit

  • it really is a + for yamaha that they didnt build a factory on other asian countries.

check the Cort brand for instance and their action in north korea.

plus i heard yamaha quality and all i want to see is about the action..

  • @rurounisld they hv a guitar factory in China....they also have one in Indonesia (making Upright pianos and the baby grand piano)

  • I have an LJX36C that I am very proud of. Only the 26 and 36 models are hand made to this high level. The 6 and 16 are built using less superior wood and not quite as much attention to detail but are still very nice sounding instruments. The sound of these guitars was so nice that once I heard the 6 I just had to hear the 36. Very proud I did.

  • Are All the L series made in the same place. I know the LL6 is made in Hangzhou China. Was this the same factory. What I am interested in knowing is where is the LL16 made and is it very similar to what was displayed on this video. Aside from that , thanks, very interesting tour and good to see the care taken to produce these wounderful guitars

  • The tour was interesting but Tillman is either retarded or missing several million brain cells.

  • DUDE!!! I WANT ONE SO BAD NOW!!! D:

  • beautiful guitars

  • serious craftsmen ^^

  • guys, stop marking comments as spam just because u don't like what the person has to say. If someone says something negative about the USA it's their right. Ever heard of free speech? If u claim to be a "true american" (whatever that means), and censor someone, that flies in the face of what the USA was originally about, and makes you an ignorant asshole.

  • perfect!

  • This is by far the most interesting guitar factory tour video on youtube.

  • i couldn't decide between an ls16 or a martin d-1 or d-16gt but i think i'm going for yamaha since it's more affordable and is made out of all solid woods.

  • Although I'm a huge fan of Tilbrook, it's difficult to take this video seriously when you see him on stage with a Taylor and featuring in their brochure too!

  • i say your all stupid if your american, and i say save american jobs by buying american made.

  • @phoenixforce22 thats a rather humorous statement, if japan is doing something better and more affordably than america, buy the japanese one, that is how capitalism works!

  • @JmJones2 fuck capitalism!

  • @phoenixforce22 then surely fuck usa?

  • @phoenixforce22 commie

  • @phoenixforce22 unfortunately, american guitar companies (as well as other american markets) make it very hard for most people to purchase their instruments due to rediculously bloated prices. You pay as much for a decent american instrument as you would for a decent used work vehicle. People who have made their own guitars know that it is unnecessary to price them so high to make a decent profit. Breedlove is one american company who understands this, though. But I'm not a big fan.

  • @mcneely2818 In the case of the guitar market, the difference is that Yamaha has not change a bit on what they represent that is a true passion for quality and sound regardless of greed.......just like the saying do what you love in life and money will come by itself........instead of let's get money regardless of what we love in life..............It is understood the financial part is important but...in acoustic guitars you get what you paid for no longer a fact....unless it is a Yamaha

  • Certainly get your money's worth with these guitars don't you

  • ugly pickgard

  • I'v got Yamaha FG 700 s witch strings Elixir ..This is really good acustic guitar!

  • Does anyone know what the guitar music pieces are in this video?

  • this dude is funny.

  • the dude knock on the wood to hear the tone!!!! wow thats amazing i don't see Gibson or martin doing that.

  • thank you some one gives japanese craftsmanship their due. Japan's guitar building is high quality. I out up their with USA build.

  • It's really incredible to see the care and the dedication that Japanese workers put in every piece and part of their work.

    Really inspirational.

  • fabrika güzelde tanıtan adam biraz mal :)

  • I have one LL36 model ! Manufactured in december 2004 ! It's a very great guitar . On incredible tonal deep . On incredible ton power . This guitar is a must in the guitar world . Thanks Yamaha Custom Shop ...(5*****)

  • Then we say yamaha american guitars ! All the stuff is from asia

  • I thought it was stupid how that British douche kept attempting to make parts of the guitar and then fell on his face. But its probably accurate, the British can't make anything well.

  • who is playing that music in the beginning of the video? album? track??

  • sais who it is at 0:16

  • this guy is a good artist

  • this are their made in japan handcrafted guitars so that means Lx26 & 36 and up. they start at around $2700 or so...

the Lx6 and 16 are made in china... they're a lot cheaper... if anyone wants one get the LL, LJ or LS 16 rather than the 6 model cause the 16s are all solid wood models... they retail at around $750...

  • If those stupid people at Epiphone were smart ,they would bring back their electric guitar production BACK to Matsumoto,Japan.

  • I think I buy a Yamaha L series.......

  • are the L16 series made in japan or china? i wish they also made the left hand in the S model as well. it boggles my mind why they only make the L16 in a lefty.

  • That's what makes all Yamaha Guitars so great! : ) The fact that Yamaha puts their hearts into making all their guitars.

  • His singing was kinda awkward for me towards the end lol

  • I really ought to get one of these. I've seen them at Yamaha stores and they're really pretty. And they're a lot cheaper than similar quality guitars from other brands.

  • this was a very nice video:) I wonder if i could get one of the discarded ones:D bet they're still nice as hell:)

  • How is a guitar more refined than chop sticks? There is probably a few thousand years worth of refinement in their simple elegant design.

  • I was going to buy a Epiphone[Chinese made] I decided on the Japanese made L series Yamaha.Really well made, with no suprises

  • kesin lan dallamalar bilip bilmeden konuşuyonuz adamlar yapıyolar gitarı bende gitar yapıyorum istiyenler msj atsın

  • I've had my L series since September, sounds to good and plays too well to describe! Simply a delightful guitar! Worth every penny!

  • Wow, that was a great video. You can tell those guys really put their heart into those guitars.

  • My Yamaha LL36 Guitar have a great song , a wonderful look . It's the must for any styles . I play all day . I have funny happy with this "magical" instrument . Tank Custom shop Hamamatsu . Congratulation...J.B.

  • I just bought an LLX6 yesterday. Was looking at the FG700s because they're cheaper but the LLX6 just blew them out of the water with it's fantastic sound, so I had to get it.

  • Beautiful!

Yamaha, you have a new fan ;)

  • wow!perfect,I have the rgz 112p yamaha electric guitar.,,

  • Wow... I never look at my LL500 the same way anymore.

  • Is that a good? or bad thing for you?

  • Good thing. I mean like, before I thought of it just as a guitar. But I never understood how much detail and work was actually put into one of these!

  • can you still buy the L series?

  • I bought a used LL500 a month or so ago for about 900 bucks. Just gotta find one!

  • I have a Yamaha FG730 and LOVE IT. Great video.

  • Interesting video. I am a great admirer of Yamaha instruments. The quality of finishing is always superb. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford an L series guitar but for the moment I have just bought a new Yamaha FG700MS for about £100 and I am really chuffed with it, the tone range is the best I've ever experienced and what I like most is the way it responds to all the little inflections and nuances in my playing (it makes me sound much better than I acually am!). Clever technology !

  • I have an LJ6, the lowest end of the new L-Series but I love it. Great tone, great feel, all around great guitar. Got it for around $500 in 2007 (probably built in 2006). The lower end L-Series though aren't handcrafted in Japan though, they're handcrafted in Taiwan.

  • excellent video! thanks

  • hey im about to buy a fg700s. is that any good??? tell me whats best for a 200 dollar price range

  • I have a LL500, beautiful sounding guitar, but it stays in it's case most of the time. I also have a FG432s which I play every day & a couple of other FGs which I don't play much. I gave a FG410 to my daughter & that lives with her. It's the cheapest guitar I've ever owned, costing me £20 fifteen years ago, but it's still my favourite one to play by a long way.

  • got an FX335

    LOVING IT!!!

  • I have a handcrafted L-25A that was manufactured in 1981 and I've owned for over 25 years. This guitar just gets better with age. Comparing the sound of this guitar with new Martins, Gibsons, Larrivees and Taylors, my old Yamaha can hold its own very well indeed. I will never part with her!

  • Me too...bought mine in 1984. Guy in the shop said that Yamaha was buying the wood from the same place Martin was at the time. Sitka spruce top, Mahogany back and sides,Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge...Just keeps getting better

  • i think yamaha's sound fine,i have a pacifica and it sounds alright...my favorite guitars ae fenders, but yamaha do just fine

  • I got a FG700 too. Solid top, flawless construction and only under $200 bucks. Not the L handcraft series but it definitely rocks! Yamaha made quality guitars.

  • FG700, awesome balance in tone, great resonance, unbelievably cheap, it was like $300 less than i thought it would be, although the action isnt as good as it can be, its an awesome guitar for any intermediate player

  • I have an L-53 that looks and sounds great. Built in 1977/78-- Nakamoto design and custom shop craftsmanship are terrific.

  • I love Yamaha's acoustics. Such nice guitars.

  • I own a LJX 6C and I can play all what I want without thinking "oh something is missing with this guitar" and it is not expensive !!

  • i have a japan-made FG300D and had it fitted with fishman matrix natural 2, i use it in my gigs. it's great sounding when plugged.

  • I`m currently playing a Yamaha FG730S, love it!

  • beautiful..whats the list price on that L series?

  • wow!! great video! i got an L-8 made in japan. very good sound!

  • plastic nut and saddle. Just bought secondhand LL400, and very pleased. Tho I was surprised to find it has plastic nut and saddle. thinkin of changin for bone. interested to hear your opinion thx chezruss

  • GIBSON IS BETTER, but yamaha are absolutly no doubt great guitars.

  • They're great guitars, but they're not without their problems. In particular, their one piece necks coupled with their deep truss rod pockets equals a disaster waiting to happen. When I did repair work I could have lived off broken Gibson headstocks alone.

  • yeah that is very true, but unless u knock ur guitar around alot the gibson necks are actually very stable. so as long as u respect ur instrument it shouldn't fall apart on you so easily... thanks for de reply 2. =]

  • I play an FG-140. Recently saw a post about it on here. 1968? anyone know about them?

  • My mom just walked in with a fgx730sca and it is the SHIT!!! It fucking rocks.

  • is that all his guitars in the background? maybe not. ( hey no flaming and calling me meathead or something).

  • my yamaha is PAC-012

  • My Yamaha guitar is a CG-40

  • I just got my Yamaha a month ago. It's a cheaper model...I.E. made in China. But it has a bright sound and I like it. Cool vid!

  • Great guitars, I have a LJ6 which is the lower end of the L seriies and is made in Taiwan. Very easy to play and sounds great, not the loudest but warm and detailed with good seperation of notes and sustain to match even taylor. Overall i`d say bargain.
