how long does it take for them to answer to your application like i know about not being able to apply two months after u apply but like how long does it take for a yes or no?
True I suppose. Another idea is that you could contact some of the developers of the games you play to show them how much views you get and how much free advertisement they get.
I have them all backed up... and I don't think I'm going to make THIS channel the partner channel. I'm thinking about AmgdxMain instead. Next weekend I'll (hopefully) have all my non-gameplay videos uploaded to that channel, and start trying to migrate my viewership there and leave this one up as legacy footage.
if it means we get higher quality shit then go for it
u shouldnt lose any videos u have posted unless they infringe on copyright or something
and ads dont really bother me, all u gotta do is click the x once, its no big deal, if it bothers anyone they should stop bein such whiney little bitches.....
Google owns Youtube does it not? So I would assume if Youtube won't partner with someone posting game footage for copyright reasons, Google wouldn't sponsor either.
If you monetize anything that is not created entirely by you that's copyright infringement. If you get permission from the original owners of the copyright to use their stuff in your video, that's okay.
If you don't put ads on your LP footage...it should be fine. And I'm really not sure that you're going to get $50 a day, that's a bit absurd. Imagine what the top YouTubers would make...
Since I'm not a partner I can't really answer some of they specific questions you asked. However if you think becoming a partner will make things better for you or allow you to have higher quality videos then I say go for it.
The ads wont be a problem since I can easily click the X to remove the ad or use ad blocker.
dont really see a problem with it, go for it. I have seen a bunsh of videos of let's plays and other gameplay videos where there are advertisements and occasionaly the people who post them do claim they get money and theres no problem with their posts, can't name any names though not good witht that, but ya i don't see i problem i mean its just you playing a game, letting other people watch and give feedback, if you just happen to have an advertisement banner at the bottom, again no probl. seen
you can get advice from us, but actual information you´ll get from the companies... As I understand it, you are trying to make partnership with youtube and then probably put ads of different companies... So the partnership with youtube you should discuss with youtube, because I am sure it´s not just one click event, so yeah, discuss it with proper youtube department. And then discuss with youtube the
terms of adding ads because it is possible that you won´t be able to put ads of some certain companies and of course you´d have to discuss it with the companies themselfs. I don´t know anything about the numbers (subscribers or money) but rest is all about communication, what can they provide and what can you provide. And answer for your last question: It depends, but I personally wouldn´t mind that. If you want to take this to a more professional level, you have to be more professional...
I haven´t meant youtube as a site... there´ve got to be some people that run this place and who decide who to take as a partner... I really don´t know how this works here, but I doubt that I could become a partner, because I don´t contribute in anyway... And as I see it, there should be someone to compare and judge the contribution... If I´m wrong just tell me (and a brief explanation would be nice)
the ads that you can simply x out arent that annoying but the commercials that are before the actual vid would be horrible so make sure they dont make u have those on ur vids
The ads aren't TOO annoying, but I don't think you can be a partner with copyrighted material, like your game footage. (Especially since you had the audio on some of your videos removed)
You have to be careful with the ads. I really don't care, but the companies that make the game may. They don't want you to be able to make a profit by showing off their content...however they don't care about the free demonstration of how cool their game is.
I say go for it but I think some research is in order.
Sounds like a good idea, i only wonder would this have been better if you had done this before splitting you channel, so you would have more people going onto the one channel rather than the other channels.
ads arnt annoying some are actually interesting! Also you said you wanted a new graphics card so partnership is perfect go for it! Also you can have alot longer videos! meaning Fallout 3 could be cut right down rather than 200+ videos Etc.!
Normally I'm not a big fan of users who apply for a partnership as they are usually unscrupulous with ad placement.
That being said, I have been watching this channel for a long time and if it means that the quality and frequency of videos can be increased as well as your personal gain from a hobby then I'm all for it. But if it does turn out that Youtube denies your application and deletes your videos based on their content, then it would be a real shame and a high risk move.
i think its good to see you make money + entertaining us but i would realy want to kno that you wont throw ur life away like if you make enough money i realy do want to know that you are sure because you might quit you job and i realy see that as a point in throwing ur life away for videogames
I've always subscribed to the theory of, "Do what you love and the money will find you."
Playing video games a few hours a week and earning a living wage from that plus having loads more free time. How is that throwing my life away? Couldn't it be said that I'm throwing my life away MORE when I work a 9-5 job?
i meant that you shouldnt get addicted to playing games and i realy like how you do ur LPs i just wanna warn you that videogames can be addictiv.. just wanted to warn you
I have 4 level 70 characters on World of Warcraft (back when that was the level limit) and one day, a few weeks before starting to LP, just lost interest and never went back. That's not something that someone with an addictive personality does.
question, would you quit your job if you would get more revenue from your channel ads, and therefor making LP footage for games in the time spent on your job instead?
im not really sure with the partnership, but this is what i want to do eventually and make some money. also you could make a website to put your videos on, and get a google adsense account and put ads on your site too. making the money by clicks or veiws on your videos. its pretty awsome if you are very popular. unlike me :( lol
Well, from a financial standpoint, it would probably be good for you as well. According to my calculations, at maintaining a steady 20k views per day at $2.50 per thousand views equals up to $18,250 per year. If that works out it may go to some of the possible things on your donation page. I'm all for it personally, because there are some console games I would love to see. However, what I'm not all for is the your gameplay videos on your main channel getting removed. I should look into it.
If it means that you get somewhat paid for it, and even higher quality content, then go for it. I'm so used to clicking away ads anyways, and hey, what'cha gonna do.
But, I don't know if my opinion matters or not, if you ask me, you SHOULD become a partner. It would be a good thing for you, and, of course, you'll be making money. I mean, 50 bucks a day is incredible for a hobby.
I'd say go for it if the ads would be restricted to these vids. However, I am concerned that the LPs that were around before the channel changes that are still on your main channel would be affected by the ads which would completely ruin the immersion of when you are watching through an LP. However, I understand that you do need to juggle between your work life, your personal life and your LPing hobby life, and if your LPs could start paying for themselves with a partnership, then go for it!
Ide have to agree with HolyHeeroYui. ive no idea how it works but if you do find a good way to get it going ide go for it man, your youtubing is very awesome :)
Not much help, but I'd be fine with seeing ads on videos as youtube nicely lets you close them, and I'm used to them on other channels anyway, and in the end you'll surely get more views if this becomes your full time thing... So as a lesser informed viewer I say go for it.
I'd say go for it, but I'm worried about all of your games on this channel.
Unless you have some way to move them somewhere, or make a new channel for for all of this talking stuff, I don't exactly see how you can become a partner without somehow having copyrighted material on it.
If there is somehow a safe way though, I'd say go for it. Even if it was just ads. They're not that annoying. And saving a little bit of money can become a very large amount of cash. How else did I get my computer?
oh and if u have not asked yet and u do you'll probably get a thing liek a terms and aggrement thingy that tells you evbery thing you need like 1 a banner for both your channel and the top of your desript box and several others and it will tell you... everything probs
if my math serves 50 bucks a day 7 days a week and 52 weeks in a year you'll make about 18200 bucks a year
oh and i think you should go for it. i watch nigahiga smp films nalts, whathebuckshow and all the other partners and i dont care anymore if i see one i close it
1. Yes, all your gameplay videos in this channel will get removed. Copyrighted material...
2.Youtube user SMPFilms said in one video that he gets around 300$ for 100000k views.
3.I don't want to say more because I'm not an expert at this.
4.Meh. Ads don't make any difference, at least to me. And if the quality gets better, I'm on your side. Go partnership go! (only you'll get gameplay videos removed I guess)
GTASeriesVideos makes GTA walkthroughs and he is number 7 most subscribed PARTNER of Italy. So yes, there are people who do that, but his footage comes under ''Guru'' He helps people.
1. It may be a possibility since they're all technically "copyrighted material", but it most likely depends on who you become partners with.
2. It depends, again, on who you become partners with.
3. I was going recommend watching a video of this guy who talked about the "truth" behind youtube partnership, but it must have been removed since I can't find it. xD
4. I don't mind it as long as it benefits you and, in turn, benefits us. :D
Well I know nothing about partnership, so I can't help you there. But I definitely wouldn't mind seeing ads on your videos. They're on a few of the people I watch already, and it's really no big deal. If it means you make higher quality and more quantity of videos too, then I say go for it. I was also wondering, if you do start to make a good amount of money on your videos, is there any chance you'll be completing let's plays? Maybe not big ones like Fallout 3, but ones like Spelunky.
Like I said, I'll try to improve quality first, then work on quantity.
See its a ratio thing. Completion = Quantity/Variety. If I keep the variety the same, but increase the quantity, more games will naturally be completed.
Can't help with 1-3, but as for 4 definitely go for it, I don't mind ads, especially when they don't interfere with the video itself. As long as it's not the kind of ads that get placed before videos that FORCES you to watch it (which isn't how it works anyway for the most part), then I don't see a massive reason why you shouldn't do it.
I say do it man, if it some money then try it! If you enjoy it, why not try to get some money off of it you know? As for the questions, is there a way to ask Youtube? I wouldn't trust viewer opinions much.
1. I don't have that much info but, if will be getting money.. well a dollar is a dollar - or what ever is your currency.
2. I would say no if it limits you in your quantity of videos that your have or will be making.
3. The plan of only putting ads only on your main account videos and not on your game play vids is a good idea i would think a nice balance between viewers and profit.
4. I would not mind this, especially if it would make the videos overall better. Plus, I'm an advoate of people getting rewarded for their work :)
But, my only worry is that you would possibly (no offence) loose "you" in the equation. Like, would you be so worried about "pleasing" your viewership that you would start doing things like NOT recording your options, or all in all just trying to be more "you" than "you" are...if that makes any sence?
I'm not sure whether or not is should accpet my partnetship thing :l

NorthHuffman 2 years ago
It is, in fact, 2.5 US dollars for every 1k views.
I asked my good friend Johnnyboyxo.
He is a youtube partner and he broke it down to me.
The amount a partner can make can increase if they select the option to turn on the ads.
The percentage of money per 1k views slightly raises for the number of times someone actually clicks the ad.
But then there are the google ads which generate no money.
I basically skimmed his message and thats all that i pulled out from it.
Hope it helped!
homoalways1 2 years ago
Oh!
And one more thing,
I asked another LPer who applied for youtube partnership and was denied.
Youtube replied in saying, The Gameplay footage would have to be decreased and a review aspect of it would have to increase.
Basically youtube doesn't want its partners playing though a game, just to review it.
So if this channel was turned into a game reviewer network, then you would most likely get partnership.
That might not actually be such a bad idea.
o_O

I have no solid information on this, so all I can say is, good luck whatever you decide to do here.

MrXarleko 2 years ago
On your answer to number 2. Is that 100,000 views or 100,000 thousand views as your comment implies?
TheDefuge 2 years ago
100,000 views. Sorry I mentioned 100k in my previous comment.
MrXarleko 2 years ago
You can't become a partner on an LP'ing channel unless you have a sponsorship with the gaming companies whose games you're playing.
Youtube has a regulation that says that you can't become a partner on "copyrighted" material, which basically rules out all LPs.
I guess it's fair enough considering it's not really YOU who made the games.

GTASeriesVideos makes GTA walkthroughs and he is number 7 most subscribed PARTNER of Italy. So yes, there are people who do that, but his footage comes under ''Guru'' He helps people.
maxerd2 2 years ago
1.Yes considering almost every video "copyrighted"(Depending on who your partners with)
2.Not sure how i works really
3.make sure to have back ups because if the partner sees copyright meterial you may have your channel shut down right away
4.Meh its just a click to get rid of it soo no biggie
killer78907 2 years ago

Oh I see! Yes, good information!
Arm4g3dd0nX 2 years ago
I don't see any ads on any of his videos. How can you tell he is a partner?
Arm4g3dd0nX 2 years ago
Well I know nothing about partnership, so I can't help you there. But I definitely wouldn't mind seeing ads on your videos. They're on a few of the people I watch already, and it's really no big deal. If it means you make higher quality and more quantity of videos too, then I say go for it. I was also wondering, if you do start to make a good amount of money on your videos, is there any chance you'll be completing let's plays? Maybe not big ones like Fallout 3, but ones like Spelunky.
wackosandro5 2 years ago
Like I said, I'll try to improve quality first, then work on quantity.
See its a ratio thing. Completion = Quantity/Variety. If I keep the variety the same, but increase the quantity, more games will naturally be completed.
Arm4g3dd0nX 2 years ago
Can't help with 1-3, but as for 4 definitely go for it, I don't mind ads, especially when they don't interfere with the video itself. As long as it's not the kind of ads that get placed before videos that FORCES you to watch it (which isn't how it works anyway for the most part), then I don't see a massive reason why you shouldn't do it.
harrypmgaga 2 years ago
From what I know, you only get money from being a partner if people click on the ads and crap on your videos, and people rarely do that.
7gamex 2 years ago
That screen name isn't coming up with anything.
Arm4g3dd0nX 2 years ago
I say do it man, if it some money then try it! If you enjoy it, why not try to get some money off of it you know? As for the questions, is there a way to ask Youtube? I wouldn't trust viewer opinions much.
floodblood7 2 years ago
I honestly don't know of a good way to contact YouTube to get that kind of answer.
Arm4g3dd0nX 2 years ago
i think that you should go for it, LPing can be hard work sometimes, and this probably would make it easier ,so thats my opinion...
fede9520 2 years ago
4. good luck
fortress61 2 years ago
i say go for it. you get a little more money and higher quality of videos good for every one
YOURSMINEPR 2 years ago
1 - 3, sadly I cannot answer...
NightStalker321a 2 years ago
That makes perfect sense actually. I'll try to keep my fingers on the pulse with any change I make. ^_^
