  • I don't know why lol...but the ep that's always stuck with me is the one where the Traveling salesman comes in for a drink of water and dies sitting at the kitchen table LOL and how the body had to sit there for hrs until it could be picked up LOL.

  • I think "Barr" makes much more sense since she has all those HUMONGO FAT BARS on her elephantine body. But then of course "Arnold" makes sense, as in Arnold, the Pig from Green Acres.

  • @YambidiBlamBlam uh no.

  • @YambidiBlamBlam You mad, bro?

  • This show was ahead of it time because it discuss things that everyday American`s were facing at the time.Back in the 80`s,and early 90`s,show were more clean cut than they are now while Roseanne show what most homes were like back at that tiem, and even maybe now.Simpson`s were kinda like that but i think Roseanne broke the lines by showing how true relaity was on tv.Today`s show ain`t clean as they used to be but i think Roseanne might had influence on that. Also the Simpson broke lines too.

  • @rockking05 I know you wrote this a year ago, but it was ahead of its time because it discussed things that everyday Americans were facing at the time.....!?!?!?! ok...

  • @88yenos Most shows back then didn`t show what was really going on.Pretty much the majority of television shows only shows only positive side to life and not the true reality of what was really going on then.Whats so confusing about that?

  • John Goodman portrays a wimpy big fat ass (kind of like his real self). OMG, he lets his wife wear the pants in the family - damn coward!

  • @Nashthebigsmasher you obviously havent seen john goodman lately, he is very slim now. and is a great man, unlike you. learn some manners.

  • @Ericha2008 Oh I'm sorry Ericha that I was so impolite. He may have lost weight (like I really give a damn), but in "Roseanne" he was a gutless wimp.

  • The original opening had a 'closed caption' icon in the upper right hand corner and 'in stereo (where available)' at the bottom of the screen. Also, Roseanne was referred to as Roseanne Barr, as it was before she had met Arnold. Her name was changed in the credits when the show first entered syndication. Sorry poser, this ain't the pilot presentation opening......you fail!

  • @sbhathena that's pretty funny reading your insult, when you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @bretodom Well, first, I was kidding so sorry if you took offense. But I actually ended up seeing the pilot uncut as it ran on ABC at the UCLA Film and Television archive. I recommend you check it out, they have 5 original season 1 episodes uncut, as deposited by the Emmys; it's so cool!!!

  • The Dad Is So Young & Slim.....

  • tHIS IS ALSO THE ONLY TIME YOU SEE JACKIE'S HAIR LIKE THAT IN THIS SEASON. AFTER THE PILOT, SHE WEARS A WIG FOR THE REST OF THE FIRST SEASON.

  • This song and the theme to Home Improvement are oddly similar.

  • It totally sucks the season 1 dvd is the syndicated version.

  • @Stlcards789 fuck u

  • @saruman84 Problem?

  • Lecy Goranson was going to yale which is why she left the show and they were ok with it but the producers wanted to bring the becky character back into the sholw with lecy being at yale they had many blonde teen girls audition for dah part Sarah was the best they thought.Lecy had reunited with the cast wen they thought season 8 was gonna be the last so Sarah had became an alternate becky so she stayed in the show opening and lecy 2 lecy left again season 9 came & sarah stayed til the end :)

  • im glad sara gilbert beat the crap out of sal barone to were his mom took him off show and then they found the cute michael fishman

  • look at season 1 opening the season 9....started out slow ended with....omg how did they change it so much???

  • The show actually jumped when they won the lottery and their whole house would end up changing like a cartoon that was ridicalous

  • What I don't understand is in the theme song it says "Starring Roseanne Arnold," but she didn't marry Tom Arnold until 1990... Anyone have any ideas what it says that as her last name?

  • Because this clip is taken from the syndicated cut of the show. Roseanne had all instances of Barr changed to Arnold when the show was packaged for syndication. In the original network broadcast, it said Barr. Season 2 and up DVD releases also are (mostly) network prints of the show and say Barr as well.

  • Ohhhh, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks!

  • exactly i look on the description of the show it says barr, but the intro says arnold

  • ahh thanks =]

  • so then what happened to the first dj? there was two..

  • He was only in the pilot then he was gone.

  • the first becky quit because she wanted more moeny but i guess they said no

  • No, she left to go to college in real life.

  • lol no she wanted more money...i looked it up

  • no she left for college then she came back

  • ya ur rite cuase i remmeber seeing her in a new episode where david and darlene were married and i thought it was an old episode but i noticed she was back

  • She went to Yale University, and she told Roseanne about it thats why they got Chalke, also She had to leave again, and towards the end Chalke takes up the role again.

  • I'd say the show sucked when they hit the lottery. Up until that point I loved it.

  • i love every part of it.The worst part is when it ended i just wish it could go on forever but i guess its not possible

  • i thought the show was great for 8 seasons, it jumped the shark on the ninth, i loved the grittier humour of season 6 you could tell it got really raunchy at that point compared to the more family type more conservative dialogue of the previous seasons, and i loved that raunchy humour cause it was fucking funny, it delivered a punch every episode, it was just a star exploding, it was just awesome, once in a lifetime television

  • and i loved the david character, and i liked both beckys, but i liked sarah chalke better, she was a better actress all around

  • Yeah but Lecy was the original Becky you know? Even if Sarah was a better actor(in your opinion) she was still the original Becky. Its like saying that Paul Rodgers(the new lead singer of Queen)is better than Freddy Mercury(i dont think that by the way)even if he is a better singer there is no Queen without freddy. There is no Becky without Lecy

  • this show jumped the shark when they changed Becky.

  • I think it jumped the shark when Mark and David first showed up

  • not really.. they were alright but it got worse when they started getting more scenes and shit.. i hated david. the show jumped the shark a couple times. when they replaced becky, when roseanne had a baby, when they won the lottery.

  • Yea dude I agree, I think it really jumped when they won the lottery. And I have to agree with ya I hated the David character.

  • so did it un-jump when the first Becky returned? LOL

  • no, "once one jumps a shark there is no return ":roseannethesians 5:16

  • Such an original openieng credit sequence.

  • What brought you to this clip if you hate the show so much...hmmmmmm?

  • The pilot episode title, and the ORIGINAL name of the show was named "Life and Stuff" before they changed it to "Roseanne". A couple variation episodes based on the "Life and Stuff" name have been seen on the episodes of:

    "Death and Stuff"(Primiered April 11th, 1989)

    And:

    "Fights and Stuff"(Primiered May 21st, 1996).

  • Yeah, Glenn Quinn (Mark). RIP.

  • The boy that replaced D.J.... Michael FISHMAN!!! Not Fisherman

  • I'm so glad they replaced DJ :)

  • i'm confused...she's listed as roseanne arnold, even though she was barr for the first couple of seasons.

  • The intros were later edited for syndication to say "Arnold." When originally broadcast, it said "Roseanne Barr."

  • omg the season nine premiere had Roseanne Arnold Thomas Pentland Barr!

  • that's because she married tom arnold later on

    she's originaly roseanne barr

  • She later on legally changed her name to Roseanne (no last name). However, a few years after her short-lived talk show ended, she started using "Barr" again due to passport issues.

  • roseanne was an awesome show

  • she beat him up and they were going to call child protection? what a puss

  • lol, i know

  • did you know that in real life Sara Gilbert beet up Sal Barone (aka old d.j.) and then his parents called child protective agentcey, so that is why they replaced him with Michael Fisherman (aka new d.j.) and Sal Barone was only in the first episode to, lol

  • what a wuss

  • Good lord if that happen then his parents are crazy they are children.

  • this one has Sal Barone as D.J. instead of Michael Fisherman

  • hee!! little baby Darlene

  • OMG! The fake DJ!!!!

  • This episode was only used for the first episode. They refilmed it when they replaced DJ in the second episode

  • 50seconds of magic...
