  • This was supposed to be the theme song of the movie, then at the last minute they changed it for some boring ass music...Eddie was cheated by the hollywood grass fuckers...

  • Thanks for uploading it good memories born in 74 and still listen to it.

  • Man theres nothing like the 80's music. I mean I love Motown too but the 80's just have some of the best sounding music ever. Todays music cant compare.

  • Sadly, they did not use the song in the movie for whatever reason? They could have at least used it as the closing song.

  • que temaso gran eddy grant eres un maestro ,me encanta esta cancion

  • I liked this better than "Electric Avenue"!

  • 7 people can't romance the stone...LOSERS.

  • How can you not LOVE this song, makes you want to jump up on the table and dance................:)

  • It was great to be around in the 80's to get to enjoy the music from this era.

  • ed has a great voice hands down ya'll !

  • i heard the producers had it cut.

  • Remember the movie and at the end in the generic..this song! It was so gooood and stil good! Great guitar

  • 240p we meet again!!!

  • Great song but 'HQ Audio'? Nah...

  • Pleasure to be a sister for him !!!!!!!!!

  • love Kathleen Turner. good tune too

  • Great video & song. The wrecked bus looks like the old Partrige Family bus.

  • Kathleen Turner never looked better in this movie........sad to say she hasn't aged too well.

  • @shoegal672 she's been very ill...:(

  • @DoUWanna007 Years ago KT was interviewed by Playboy & posed semi-nude. She looked better than the nude bimbettes.

  • They don't make music like this anymore. Long live the 80's!

  • I didnt know eddie grant sung this song?? only took me 30 years to figure it out

  • great i was 16 years young and so in love with a girl with this song all time in my head :)

  • great bassline...love it!

  • I believe there was some sort of creative issue between Grant and someone...so they nixed the song...sucks, because it's a great one.

  • I remember watching Romaning the stone just to listen to this track and was gutted when it only lasted about 20 seconds

  • Makes me want to fire one up.

  • me no wanna go

  • cool man eddy grant YEA MAN!!!

  • linda musica, filme melhor ainda marcou uma epoca...

  • Man,those were good times.

  • Such a great song!

  • I love this song I was like 9 when it came out played it over and over again as a single on my walkman!!!

  • This song reminds me of the good ole days of the 80's...I can't enough of this tune..........

  • its not even in the movie thats the weird part

  • Really cool song. Just watched the movie again on Netflix to try to hear it and then I realized something... it's not in the movie! I heard the cool guitar part but that's it. I wonder why, I really wonder. Someone at the studio completely fucked up. I even looked up the soundtrack... this song is not on it! How?!

  • @motleyhar but the song is mentioned in the credits at the end

  • @MiloTheCatsStudio Wow dude, and I am pretty sure he played it in concert at one point. Your comment makes zero sense. You DO realize that it was specifically written for the movie (at the studios request), is a damn good song and isn't even on the soundtrack and only a little part of the song is in the movie... right? Your comment really makes no sense. It's like... oooh but MotleyHar... I heard it on the radio once! SO WHAT?!

  • @motleyhar the point is its odd that the song is credited in the CREDITS but isnt even played in the movie

  • @MiloTheCatsStudio Thats the exact point I made. We're seeing eye to eye here, bro, you're just shorter than me.

  • I don't really like his other songs but this is amazing for some reason.

  • @Daggroth YOU DON'T LIKE ELECTRIC AVENUE TOO BAD SUCKS TO BE YOU AND I HAVE A FRIEND WHOSE DOG IS NAMED DAGGROTH IF YOU EVEN KNOW WHERE THAT NAME CAME FROM LOL

ITS COOL EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN TASTE SORRY ABOUT CAPS BUT MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK

  • @TheMrtimmy28

I'm sure you think it came from Dagoth, however, I made it when I was younger. Dagger was my old name from an FPS, i just added some letters and took a few away.

  • @Daggroth daggroth was a character in j r r tolkiens unknow book the silmarillion bit of trivia for ya form my eidactic memory. 1 step up from photographic my friends , close ones call me the encyclopedia insaneica lol

  • @TheMrtimmy28

Aaaah, No... and it's not unknown book. I've read it actually... and no, there's no Daggroth. There's a Draughlin.

  • classic,,, all of it

  • classic

  • Really pretty cool! One of the greatest "Reggae Kings" in all over the world!

  • eddy eddy....how cool are u?

  • eddie is a cool dude!

  • "What does the "T" stand for?"

    "Trustworthy."

    ;-)

  • @juliadennehy NOT JULIA DENNEHY FROM 92ND ST IN MANAHTTAN NYC?????? THAT WOULD BE AMAZIN COINCIDENCE ---SORRY MY CAPS BUTTON IS STUCK LOL

  • I love this song so much. Every friend of mine I showed it to hated it . . . until one recently liked it! My life is complete

  • When I`m feeling the blahs & put my bose phones on smack a bottle open maybe twist one & I`m in la la land with a smirk on my grill !

  • Great uplifting song. Brings back the memories when we were

capable of some romancing in our lives ! Let's not lose it people!

  • Man, I'm showing my age here! I remember when this music video first came out and Siskel and Ebert reviewed the VIDEO on MTV. They said it was "revolutionary" because it was the first video (or one of the few videos) that mixed movie scenes with video scenes in a believable manner.

Of course, that way waayyyy back in the day when MTV actually showed music videos 24/7/365.

  • @NXSeven hey i knew that too. enjoy your age stay young and you are right

  • @NXSeven

Your second paragraph revealed more of your age than the first did (and that's meant as a compliment). MTV not only doesn't show music videos anymore, it's done more to kill the standard and quality of music than any other force since the first caveman banged a rock to rhythm.

  • @NXSeven back then when mtv was real music televison and not tabloid crappy tv which is showing pregnant teenagers :)

  • @NXSeven Thanks for sharing your memory...Yes MTV is nogood now..

  • This song and video was better than the movie!

  • Eddy Grand is a legend!!!

  • ..forever...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This album was a very good record. I wore it out when I was working at Wherehouse records in 1984. This was my favorite song on it too. Me and my friend had a 1961 VW bus and we would ride around with this as loud as it could go, changing the words to: "I'm romancing your mom, never leaving her poor snatch alone" good times

  • As a movie, I thought it was an O.K. comedy. Nice song, too!

  • it's sad the song wasn't used in the end credits, of the movie.

  • i wish i was born earlier! :( missed all the cool things like this!

  • Eddie Grant is very wealthy! Kudos. Hope he is still getting his residual income from his music. He deserves it.

  • The Eddy Grant song that gets the most airplay where I live is "Electric Avenue," but, personally, I like this song MUCH better!

  • Best wishes for the recovery of Michael Douglas.

  • @martinjsxx YEAH and his best role was Wall Street 2. After that it would be Falling Down. That was a super great movie. God Speed to Michael Douglas!

  • Does Kathleen Turner supports Manchester United?

  • don't mess with a guy carrying a machete.

  • I'm so glad they didn't keep this song in the movie.

  • @MerlinParish Por ue ?

  • I was just a little kid when I started listening to Eddy Grant, and now, 20 some years later, I still like his music.

  • J'adore ce son, ça me met une patate de dingue!

A écouter sans modération, trop bon.

    Clin d'œil à mon minus!

  • awesome song!

  • I want to be playing my air guitar on top of a mountain just like Eddie :) Man I love this song!!!

  • I love unicorns too Eddy

  • More people need to be romancing the stone!

  • I am listening this song over and over again every day....my new favorite song!!!!!

  • excelente gracias por compartirlo!!!

  • Jamaica looks like a nice place to vacation....Kind of like Afghanistan without all the camels.

  • @worldsmosthated2006

the movie takes place in colombia NOT jamaica.

there are no camels in afghanistan (they are in the middle east)

afghanistan is a dry mountainous country NOT full of heavy tropical vegetation

  • @turfute Thanks?

  • @worldsmosthated2006

    don't mention it

  • magnifique!!

  • love the mythical g-tar towards th end

  • god i love this song

    this is the 80's people!

    long live the 80's

  • What ever happened to this guy? Is he still around, producing others or something? Haven't heard anything from him in a long time...

  • He looks like an ape, but I like this song.

  • Fantastic song...producers were DEAD WRONG not using this....THIS SONG is what reminded me of the movie to show to my daughters recently...the theme melody stuck in my head after all these years....

  • I've never heard this song before in the movie, but it's great!!! It nurtures my wish to become an adventurer - go to South America in search of fortune and glory. :D

  • this wasn't the movie of him and his wife dying was it? Which one was that

  • Wow, thanks for posting this! GREAT AUDIO!!! Always loved this.

  • 'm romancing the stone, never leaving your poor heart alone

Every night and every day gonna love the hurtin' away

I'm romancing the stone, never leaving your poor heart alone

Every night and every day gonna love the hurtin' away

  • I always thought this song wasn't in the movie. But you can actually hear the guitar solo in the scene where you see the drug dealer's huge house. They shoulda put it on the soundtrack.

  • "Those liars i just have my little mule".. And DUDE pulls out a 4x4 jeep

  • I listen to this song and just want to go out and dance, problem is who is going be playing this song at the Clubs? LOL. Awesome song, thanks for posting. :-)

  • This was my favorite Eddy Grant song of all time. They should remake this movie!!!

  • Man I loved this movie when I was 13.

    "Wooooo Hoooo!!! G** D**** what a ride!"

  • Thanks for posting. This video is priceless.

The song that everyone remembers from the ‘Romancing the Stone’ series was Billy Ocean’s classic ‘When the Going gets Tough’, from the sequel “Jewel of The Nile” which was a huge box office hit in the summer of 1985. But no one remember the “Romancing the Stone” theme music by Eddy Grant.

    - behind vfx

  • I wondered why it wasn't in the movie too! Playing over the credits maybe?

  • Love the fact that beautiful St. Lucia was featured in this video

  • It would have given a better mood to the movie!!! I still don't understand why they did not added to the movie at the last minute. Eddy Grant Rocks!!!!

  • it`s a cool song..too bad they only used like 5 seconds of it in the movie....would have been fun in the movie

  • BIG TUNE

  • this song brings back memories for me I was 13 when this came out.and had a 2nd boyfriend.

  • Muito bom!

  • This guy has NOT received his props for his skills as a musician!

  • A fast-paced,fun song from Eddy Grant. Most folks think of him as a one-hit wonder, having scored a huge hit with 1983's 'Electric Avenue'.This tune, along with the song he did back in the 1960s 'Baby Come Back' with the Players, proves otherwise.I miss hearing him,& wish HE would come back to the music scene.

  • He's Our Brother!

  • Glad to hear that partner!

  • @AnthonysDen i think his song I don't wanna dance is better than Electric av but i agree he need to come back think he would do well.

  • @VrNghtOwl Glad you agree buddy.Truthfully,I've never heard Eddy Grant sing 'I don't wanna dance' but I'll try to look it up & give it a listen. Thanks for that little piece of info!

  • who are the two guys standing with Eddie at 2:59?

  • This song was used for the closing credits in the movie which was a travisty of justice. The song was a great cut back then....

  • i grew up to this song, born in 76, reall good memories from this song thats for sure.. thx btw!

  • ME 77..I CLEARLY REMEMBER IT!

  • me 78 ... and i too rememeber growing up to this song

  • super clip!

  • Its so funny they didnt like this song, my friends and I waaay back in 84 learned about how cool the movie was by seeing the video on MTV.

    I love the song!

  • @Vonstadt

I was there when this song came out, so right, great song, great movie!!

  • @Vonstadt

I was there when this song came out, so right, great song, great movie!! They played the song in the movie very short part of it.

  • The song is in the movie. You can hear it in the background when Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner are in the home of the drug kingpin who drives the "Little Mule" pickup truck.

  • ey u cunt....who the fuck ever said he was a Jamaican?

    He's from Guyana

not everyone with dreadlocks and sings reggae is from Jamaica

    asshole

  • Sexy man, killer song. It's unfortunate the producers didn't see fit to include more of this song than they did in the movie.

  • It isn't in the film, despite the fact that Eddy was commissioned to write it for the movie... Producers didn't like it and cut it for some reason (I think you can hear an instrumental version near the end), but Eddy released it by himself.

  • @DCIIIAtlanta if you listen closely it is in the film just for a short period. I have seen this film several times. It just wasn't used as the title cut at the beginning or end. Which was a shame.

  • Odd that the song is credited in the movie, yet I don't recall hearing it in the film itself.

  • great theme!!!

  • I just saw this movie in Blue Ray. HD is not very kind to Kathleen Turner, her teeth look gray.

  • Plaster your fucking name on the video. You sicken me.

  • Great guitar solo! Love this song and movie! And also love Eddy Grant's ''Electric Avenue" .

  • Megageil!!!!

  • i and i eddie, one love

  • yes he should come back and sing 80s was the best music:)

  • Eddy had a cool voice!

  • One and only guyanese that made it big in the music business..

  • Randy Muller made it to...not under his own name. HIs group was called BRASS CONSTRUCTION. Look up "Movin'" by them. He also produced SKYY ("Call Me" is his producation )and worked with B.T. Express. He came up with string arrangement on "Express".

  • I used to have one of those guitars, but I had to sell it when I cut my fingers doing a Hendrix-style solo. Great for bamboo!

  • Fantastic. Great 80s Stuff (Film and Music).

  • toollllllll

  • ''excellent''

  • this tune ran over budget, but Eddey Grant song still the best

  • This cat's cooler than ice and hotter than the rollin' dice. Asskikn'

  • Eddy Grant one of the greats.....

  • Epic.

  • electric avenue 4eva...

  • Indeed!

  • @RXWPanama ELECTRIC AVENUE, ROMANCING THE STONE, " Don't Wanna Dance" among others..

  • ha,,,,,awesome!

  • Eddy Grant! I love this!

  • who are u talking to?

  • He's just talking bullshit about the video to seem cool, ignore the prick.

  • eddies the shhhhhhhit, brings back memories of the good old days

  • 1:45 thats just too bad ass

  • 1:41

  • For all of you out there looking for the song in the movie; Eddy got in conflict with the movieproducers, who edited it in such way it got nearly banned(it was reported they hated the solo). Furthermore,Eddy issued a single and video for it by himself and had to cut out all the movie sequences. Nevertheless a true classic!

  • thiss songs baaaaad

    gur work uncle Eddy

    fuck all da hataz

  • dude who the fuck is hating on eddy grant? shut the fuck up with that shit

  • Thank you so much ! 84 was the best year of the pop.

  • i rember making out with my boyfriend at the time (i was 13)when we were watching this

  • When the drug lord invites Michael and Kathleen into his pad, you can hear about 10 seconds of it playing on his radio...

  • Great tune and movie...

  • It deserves to be in the movie much more. It's a great song.

  • The song's in the movie somewhere...I remember hearing it, but I can't recall which part.

  • I located the LaserDisc this past week at a pawn shop and there's no video on there, only a trailer for the sequel! BUMMER. I taped the video promo in the 1980s, always liked it! It's classy in my book

  • hysterical. sometimes i miss the 80s

  • I wonder what this gifted artist is doing these days?

  • HQ Audio? You must be joking, this is dead-ass mono and sounds worse than the others on here.
