Ok brothers a few years ago I did the sound in one of their concerts in NY, this song has a sountrack that is just vocals, this effect creates the 6th and 8th harmony that you hear in this song. Absolutely no lipsyncking.
I don't care about if they got another voice singing on this song... this is amazing!!! I had been hearing this since 2005 and I will love to sing like this guys... no doubt the best quartet!!! God bless you all... IASD
The comment about the harmonics is a response to the extra voice mentioned by electrba.... Of course it might me electronically added as well. But I doubt it. These guys are incredibly on... I go with the harmonics.
I love how they actually get into the plot with their facial expressions. That grin when they got to the part where Jesus smiled at the boy was blinding. :) It's really sweet.
At a recent concert they explained that this song was on 8th and 6th harmony with the help of a soundtrack, nothing wrong with that sisnce the do this song live but with extra vocals recorded.
There is quite abit of Reverbe being use and seems to be causing the multiple sounds you are hearing. that I know of they are the only four doing all the sound. I auditioned for them 6 years ago and I don't think that they are voicing over a pre recording in this recording... I think this was the 2nd tenors fare well and Jack Vesey was asked to sing this which the had done years earlier whe Jack was a part of the quartet. Jack had the sweetest of the Baritone voices the groupe has had
This arrangement was written by David Wright in 1992 for the Barbershop Chorus "Vocal Majority" out of Texas (11 time Int'l Gold Medalists). It was written in 7 part harmony (2 tenor,2 lead,2 baritone and bass). Some of the additional harmonies appear at various points in the song. I have the arrangement and can clearly identify at least 5 parts thru most of the song. I have no doubt that they are doing the singing. Perhaps the additonal harmonies are being sung off stage. They're amazing!
from 1:19 to 1:21 you can hear a chord of three melody notes while the tenor and bass are maintaining the steady rhythm.. this happens pretty frequently at other instances, but i'll only mention this one..perhaps it's that steve guy that comes up at the end of the song..if anyone could post the rest of this, then we could probably make more sense of all this..i mean, the note is there..it's just a matter of who's singing it..there is a total of five voices, and four people onstage. so there..lol
I believe angel sing along with them, that's where the additional voice heard from...

Well tuned groups produce strong harmonics.

@pumaspaw there is a third voice helping out on the harmony from 3:23 to 3:37.

@spiderchocolat3 whats your point ?
KwameS14 8 months ago
@KwameS14 just sayin' that I don't think it's harmonics. not that it's necessarily a problem, I'm a big fan of King's Heralds.

My heart is LEAPING with joy to find these videos of my childhood heroes - King Heralds Singers. Hard to see the page from tears. lol
THANK YOU & this version of that song is INCREDIBLE!
God bless & look forward to discovering more of their videos.

the guy second from the right is intent on singing his part, so there's no indication that he's the one filling the melodic chord..

If they didn't cheat on this song, they're excellent, no need for backing track.

There's definitely more than 4 voices singing! Must be prerecorded voices added! Sounds great though!!

Believe, the sound is only from these four guys.
