Sadly, not all people are overweight because they eat too much or don't get enough exercise. I have Hyperthyroidism which makes it nearly impossible for me to lose weight. I'm getting there, though.

Actually it is all due to over eating. Simple fact of the matter is that 1 pound of human fat stores 3500 Calories of energy. As we all know energy can neither be created or destroyed only transformed. Which means that in order to gain 1 pound of fat you have to over eat at least 3500 calories worth of food. As far as losing weight goes, moving anything a given distance will require a certain amount of energy. So while your metabolism may be slower exercise still burns as much as any one else.

Haha - Hyperthyroidism makes it impossible to GAIN weight. If you're going to makes lame excuses, at least use the correct term: hypothyroidism. I have hypothyroidism, the Obesity Gene and about every other genetic betrayal excuse one can have and I'm not some 300# walrus.

Obesity is a VERY simple equation: calories being taken in exceed calories being burned. If you're too tired to go run a mile, you're too tired to eat all that food.
