What is "best glide" in the inverted position? Probably a little worse than right side up. I think the telephoto lens made this look a little lower in AGL than it really was.

Engine off is one thing but to bleed off airspeed in negative high alpha, low and slow to the ground is looking for trouble. Funny how all Sukhoi exit a tailslide and flop into a flat inverted position...very easy for a flat inverted spin to develop here which can be fatal that low.

I think that's Sergei Boryak, and the Sukhoi has an air starter so the roll to "start" the engine isn't really necceessary. And the engine doesnt quit in a tailslide, it is just pulled back to idle normally. Actually the Cub in the foreground could be a guy from my airport who used to land on an F-150. He did a comedy act as well.

The should never shut completely off unless you intend it to. Sergei did it for the novelty of it. A competition tailslide does not involve complete engine stopppage. (unless it's freestyle for advanced/unlimited class or something)

Where do you see an inverted approach? It's fairly common that the engine quits during a tail slide. Pretty much a non event, just restart it.
