Thanks Joe for showing it for real. Stuff happens in real life. Glad you stuck it out, adapted and did well. If it had rained, the rain on version 1 might have dripped around the log and onto you? I think your 2nd version was better! So it worked out well!
I agree with the other posts, very inspirational. Thanks for showing the good, the bad and the ugly. Nice to see what can happen and how to be an overcomer. Well done!
Fantastic, inspirational to see a well thought out plan fail but a means found to succeed. You should be proud of yourself. I sure am glad the tree didn't squash you during your slumber. Thanks Joe. Raising the bar is good for all of us.
Still a great success figure it's better it happened the way it did, and not the middle of the night with the thing coming down on top of you . great video
Dude, happy your night out went better than mine. woods kicked my but last night. I really liked your shelter though... both of them. ;-) Congrats on the Hardwoodsman Tabs.
GREAT Successs. hahaha. first shelter was pretty nice with that thick cottonwood bark.. but the backup plan looks like it worked nicely.. good lookin shelter for building in the dark.. im definatley gonna have to add a headlamp to my Kit
Great vid and I'm glad you're alright. You never know when things like this will happen. After what happend do you think you'll use fallen trees for the base of your shelter in the future? I know I'd give it a second thought. Excellent job!
@moderncaveman100 ya, I hear what your sayin, to be honest, the tree would have stayed fine if I didn't start chopping it's supporting limb. I did not know it was supporting the whole tree lol, but I will be far more cautios in the future
Nice video, makes you feel cosy, watching it at home. ) Make more.
