I have first hand experience with Rutland's finest. I was chased down and arrested for skateboarding in Rutland in 93. They sent 5 cars and 3 foot patrol officers to apprehend me. My only offence was skateboarding. I was not intoxicated or on drugs. The charges were later dropped but I was choked by 2 officers and threatened while in custody that I was going to be beaten up. This is just another example. of their overreaction to a situation.

What would you like them to do? The suspect was resisting, disobeying lawful orders, and just generally refusing to cooperate. Their only other options were to hit him or mace him, they chose the taser. Would you rather them beat him senseless until he complies?

I have first hand experience with Rutland's finest. I was chased down and arrested for skateboarding in Rutland in 93. They sent 5 cars and 3 foot patrol officers to apprehend me. My only offence was skateboarding. I was not intoxicated or on drugs. The charges were later dropped but I was choked by 2 officers and threatened while in custody that I was going to be beaten up. This is just another example. of their overreaction to a situation.

Actually I'd be fine with no cops around. Someone wanted to break into my house they would get shot, if someone attempted to mug me they would get shot. What would you like them to do? The suspect was resisting, disobeying lawful orders, and just generally refusing to cooperate. Their only other options were to hit him or mace him, they chose the taser. Would you rather them beat him senseless until he complies?
They did what they had to do for his compliance; they were completely justified in their actions based on what I saw in this video.

We live in Mass. and have a timeshare in Killington, and frankly, the Rutland police SUCK. Especially for speeding. They set up speed traps like no tomorrow, and I refuse to believe it's "for the public good."
