I am not going to throw a bone in this fight. But many black scholars know that Native Americans were highly intelligent. Nine times out of ten, most scholars take for granted that Native Americans were intelligent.
If there were any African intermixing, it would show up in the mtDNA. However, thus far, all Native Americans are genetically linked to modern Asians. Different Native American nations (tribes) are related to different Asian populations. For example Eskimos are genetically similar to Siberian but the Hopi are genetically similar to SE Asians/certain Mongol tribes. But the genetics all points to Asia.

I applaud your effort to show so much in such a small space. It is interesting that you included the Olmec who came from Northern Africa. On another site I was happy to see Hawaiians included as Native Americans. In my family are included Mohawk, Cherokee, Choctaw and Black Foot. Some of that was not by the mother's choice, I am proud of my First Mothers nevertheless. I constantly feel their encouragement and support.

The Bible was not in the Americas before the Europeans and no its not a valid proof that Africans were in the Americans prior to the Europeans. Also note the Dogons and Berbers who you mention are MUSLIM not Christian and have been so for the last 800 years. Again look at the DNA. There is no African mtDNA within ANY Native American sampling. You have a better chance of finding Oz or Neverland than African ancestors in the Americas.

Actually Missy and Carl, you both are right. Genetically Native Americans do come from Asia, some 25,000 years ago, and the mtDNA confirms that Native Americans come from 4 Asian groups. But culturally, Native Americans developed unique cultures in the Americas and were the first peoples and first nations in the Americas. So you could say one or the other or both. There's no point in arguing on that.

But they always base their views on: 1) some connection with Egypt (which was a multiracial empire) 2) Dark skin + thick lips = African (which is racist). If there were any African intermixing, it would show up in the mtDNA. However, thus far, all Native Americans are genetically linked to modern Asians. Different Native American nations (tribes) are related to different Asian populations. For example Eskimos are genetically similar to Siberian but the Hopi are genetically similar to SE Asians/certain Mongol tribes. But the genetics all points to Asia.

Native Americans do not share any genetics with African populations. Native Americans share more DNA with certain Mongolian tribes and the Japanese Ainu than with any known African population. I really recommend that instead of looking at the skin color or facial features, one looks at concrete scientific proof before jumping into conclusions and DNA testing, particularly mt DNA testing, is the most accurate method right now.

If you read Frantz Fanon, he states that "native elite" often try to make themselves equal to the colonizers and that's what a lot of these black pseudo-historians do. They want to prove that their civilization was equal or greater than their white masters'. Instead of speaking about true African empires like the Mali, Ghana, Zimbabwe, or Nubia, they claim to be the founders of every civilization at the expense of genetics, history, and native peoples.

Slavery as it existed in Rome, Greece, the Southern US did not exist in Egypt. "Hem" usu. translated as "slave" was a capture prisoners of war, indentured servants or criminals. All children of hem were free and "hem" would be free after a certain time period. Blacks or Nubians were not used as "hem" by Egyptians either. That depends what you mean by "black people". People of African descent in the United States have no rich culture but don't blame the race, it's the education. If you were to go to Mali, Senegal or Zimbabwe and found a learned "black person" they would have an excellent understanding of their heritage that had cities and monuments like any other civilizations. It's never about race or religion or nationality, it's always about education.
