No, he's not the only one working on it. There are lots of people who are raising funds, doing awareness projects, getting the tools, carving the mountain and so on.
The reason that it is taking so long is that the area (in the Black Hills of South Dakota) is not very prosperous, and neither the group or its supporters have very much. It's also a phenomenally expensive project.
For those who would like to see the Crazy Horse Memorial up close, every June there is a walk up it. In 2009, it is June 6 and 7. I walked it about 10 years ago.

The founding fathers are not devils. They wrote the Constitution, your Bill of Rights, and created what is now the most powerful nation on earth. Many of them were indeed racist. So what? Shockley, London, and Montesquieu, to name a few other influential men, were outwardly racist. That doesn't retract from their accomplishments. Only within the last 50 years has the general population begin to look down on racism.

Its kinda hard to make a sculpture of someone who's image/picture doesnt exist...for a reason so things like this cannot exist.

No, he's not the only one working on it. There are lots of people who are raising funds, doing awareness projects, getting the tools, carving the mountain and so on.
The reason that it is taking so long is that the area (in the Black Hills of South Dakota) is not very prosperous, and neither the group or its supporters have very much. It's also a phenomenally expensive project.

Get started early in the day to avoid the biggest crowds. They get ten to fifteen thousand walkers over the two days.
