This was recorded using WinUAE. I deliberately left the floppy sounds for retro purposes, but you're right it can be annoying and spoil the intro. I tone it down in later intros. I may well get round to re-recording some of my earlier intro videos. :)
still having my amiga and having compared UAE, OCP, Cubic, you lost often most of the sounds with emulators and PC cards, only playing under an amiga is good :)
take by instance Madness Took Me from Uncle Tom, this song has to be played under an Amiga.
You almost do feel like pressing the left mouse button to continiue watching this :-D Still have llooaaddss of old Amiga games myself along with all these classic crack intros, not to mention the classic collection of demos I have too, although they haven't been watched/played in quite some time, but i'm sure they'll all still work fine. Happy days! Thanks for sharing :)
Yeah deffo,& the mighty C64 which was the baby that started it all for me,& amazingly, i've only just got into the C64 demo scene which is VERY active & kicking arse at the moment. I got some recent C64 scene demos from a kind fellow through eBay & watched them,& was literally gobsmacked. You should see the C64 version of the classic Kefrens Amiga demo 'Desert Dream' it's truly astounding, if you think C64 can't do it, wait 'til you see that. AMAZING! Look it up here on YT, & 'Deus Ex Machina'
Just to add some more C64 demos for anyone interested..try these as a search here on YT.. 'Edge of Disgrace',(AMAZING) 'Soiled Legacy', 'Dutch Breeze', 'Vicious Sid' (some truly AMAZING achievements in sound & music in this SID sound demo), + 'Royal Arte', 'Digital Magic', 'Second Reality', 'Altered States', 'Krestology'...You will indeed be blown away by what you see when you watch those, just as I was, 25 year old+ technology making effects you thought weren't possible - WOW! As good as Amiga!
I went through a few computers in the early eighties. First computer was a Commodore C16, went on to have Spectrum48k, CPC464, Commodore Plus 4, then a C64. I wasn't into the demo scene back then. That came when I got my first Amiga in 1987. Glad you mentioned the C64 scene though, I've had a look at the YT C64 videos you mentioned and they are indeed great. Amazing what they can get out of an 8bit PC with 38K free ram!!
Sounds like you love classic computers as much as me then :-D There's something great about the older machines that the modern machines will never have. I don't know if it's because it was a certain time in our lives & we're now much older, I don't know. I love the modern machines though such as the Wii, 360 etc (which I own amongst my many older classic systems) but they'll never have that special something that say, the C64 & Amiga had/have. Happy days!
I think I liked the C64/Amiga period because not everyone had them, so you felt like part of a scene. Today, everyone has PC's and it's quite boring because of it. It doesn't feel special anymore. Bit like the C.B radio days, loved the A.M. bandwidth days when there were just a few in the UK and it was a great scene with lots of eyeball parties, then the govt made F.M. C.B. radio legal, everybody joined in (including lots of idiots) and suddenly it was crap & died accordingly.
Also, glad to read you had a look at the demos, they really are worth seeing. Best place to see them is on a real C64 though, but a lot of people will only be able to see them through emulators on the PC, but it's better than not seeing them at all. You're right, it is amazing to see what they can get out of an old 8 bit machine, very clever talented ppl indeed. I too own a Commodore plus 4 but don't do anything with it really, I just like the look of it so keep it because of that :-D

For this intro mod I would say the same

You're quite right. Nothing beats the sound of a real Amiga. These videos are just a reminder of a great era for those without Amigas.

The machines were special because people took fully advantage of their power.
Now watching this at 25 fps ?
The computer industry could have been great.

It's good that the Amiga is still respected, and still in a lot of people's collections.
