@ninjaman467 /I started listenin to Robin Trower band in the early 70's, and in the last 2 years, rediscovered them again. They were good then, and now, they are wicked./wynn
Back in the 70's I used to listen to this on 8-track. Brings back memories. The sound is no doubt Hendrix in influence. Good on Trower for carrying on the tradition. If Hendrix had lived you know he would have grooved on Trower. I can just hear him saying "yeah there's this new cat Robin Trower. I really like his sound. I'll try to get together and play with him sometime." You can imagine the outcome of that!
Trower was definitely in the Hendrix school of things. All though I heard him say in an interview that he never tabbed or worked anything by ear, that's probably why his playing sounds so original
@Ravenite1 RT pays homage to his creator (JMH) with every phrase, note, tone, technique, and stomp of the wah wah pedal. Trower is a rare white artist who can play black music in an authentic way without exploiting it or imitating it. He honed in on the core cultural, technological, and aesthetic dimensions of the JMH 69-70 incarnation and became a leading disciple of the Hendrix musical prophecy. This guy really brings the feeling and the soul required to deliver the hard funk.
I heard this on the King Bisquit Flower Hour (maybe it was WNEW FM) when I was but a teenager and I thought Trower was God! Believe me boys and girls this WAS heavy back in the early 70's
Make sure they are not FLAC files, cause those require a second program to turn them into MP3's. If they are FLAC files or some other strange format, then you will need to download a program over the internet that converts music formats. I just got the latest version of winamp to do it and that seems to be the only way to keep the quality intact. Tell me if you need more help.
RIP....James Dewer...what a voice!

gold pick, on an overelectrified vibrating powerline.....and yet............ how does he do it?

@ninjaman467 You've got good taste. This guitarist along with Stevie Ray Vaughn truly captured the "Hendrix" sound.

Yo bro, that sounds sooooo Hendrix, I can totally hear Jimi saying something like that!

Gold pick against an intensely vibrating over electrified power line. So lightly touched. And the air is mystified. Birds hover. Sizzle status.

Outstanding version of this song! Dewar's vocals seem spot on. Was this with Reg Isidore on drums or Bill Lordan?
Thank you for sharing/posting it!

Is this for sale anywhere??/!! And where could I get my hands on it?!!
rich655 3 years ago
The easiest way is to download it via torrents and burn it onto a disc. It will sound as good as any storebought cd for no cost.
The deal about downloading music is, you can only download the CD if you actually own the CD, but we both know that you own it already ;)
