I work in the Railways. If you're a train driver, (in Aus at least) there's a very good chance that at some time in your career you will hit someone. Just last month it happened to a crew from my station. For many drivers this means emotional damage to extent where they can no longer face up to doing the thing they once loved; driving locomotives. The decisions of someone else cost them their passion, and their career. So think of us every time you go to cross the tracks.
