  • Dottie Rambo is my hero (:

  • all you need is newest model just like britney spears or SNSD sing this song :) :)

  • Dottie! God gave you a talent to write songs and sing them also. You are a true inspiration. Rest In Peace Dottie.

  • This song is so popular in the black churches, but I did not know Dottie wrote this one.

  • Uplifting!:) DEUTERONOMY 33:27..."The Eternal God is THY refuge"...+

  • God bless us with Dottie Rambo and God bless her family we miss her so much

  • God used Dottie Rambo in a big way to bring the gospel message to so many lost and bring cheer and comfort to so many hurting hearts, then HE called her home. We don't have to be sad, but I suppose it might be alright to envy where she is now.

  • so much soul..i didn't know she wrote so many famous songs!

  • I loved listening to & singing this song as a teenager. It is one of my favorite songs about my Lord & Saviour & Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God for the Rock!!! He has carried me through many storms. Praise His name!!!

  • I be sang this song many times but w a friend as a duet. This is the first time I ve seen a video of her singing it a definitely original take on the song as no one including myself sings it this way. Great songwriter and singer all around. All the crazy comments in here are just that, crazy. Let me just say ppl have the word, "annointed" confused. I ve sang at times that were anointed and sometimes not. To say her lifestyle caused her to not be anointed at times is seriously an ignorant state

  • WOW! I am now experiencing Dottie for the first time. We are singing this song at my church and the music director emailed us the link to this video clip. I am in love with this glorious singer/songwriter and can't wait to hear more of her joyous and heartfelt music. Thanks for the post. I am also saddened by her tragic death on Mothers Day 2008. God bless her!

  • hello from switzerland,

this music is so great, I like it!!!! I arranged it for bassoon and piano, please listen my version.

    Sincerely

    Peter Tschirky

  • he is my rock .this is a true song for me.

  • What do you turn to? Who do you talk to? Who do you lean on? Has everything failed you? I've got someone that's stood the test of time! He's the ROCK! He's JESUS!

  • Where do you go? What do you stand on? Who do you talk to? Has everything failed you? Try JESUS!

  • I pray that God may bless all who read this message, And all who dont as well. God bless you all.

  • This was when she could still flat down sing. Wow. Not only was she an incredible writer but the power in this voice was unmatched in our time.

  • dottie go yourself amen ! jesus who is he ?

  • thanks for video....job5:19..He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall NO EVIL touch thee ! Amen

  • wa4hgj I am soo glad you said that!

  • Dottie sings with heart, we saw her put it to the top through the anointing of the Spirit. WOW

No professional can anoint their song, only the Holy Spirit of God. There is a difference between talent with the anointing and talent without the anointing. We know this so well.

  • Love this song! She can flat sing! (Of course, I've known this for years!)

  • She sounds a lot like Sissy Houston. Whitney's mom.

  • You know I watch Dottie's music videos over and over. I wish there were more! She was one sharp gal! I don't care what anybody says. She aged gracefully! Actually she was prettier as time went on. What an annointed person she was. I remember her when I was a teenager playin that big ole guitar! People like ky2here's comments are pure ignorance! He or she is a disgrace to the hospitality of the people of Kentucky. It's a shame!

  • Dottie needed to show Whitney how to sing this song for sure!

  • please, stop it! Dottie deserves mad respect for writing such wonderful lyrics, but Whitney tore the mess out of that song! Dottie said herself Whitney's version is phenomenal

  • Dottie's used to be phenomenal...She used to sing under the mighty annointing when I was a kid. Reba was young! They would come to our church and sing. She had what we called the Dottie Curl...once she turned from what she knew was right, she was not near annointed like she was back then.

  • True Whitney sang it well, but without the original, without Dottie, who would have known the song to begin with? It's like the song " I Will Always Love You" from Dolly Parton, without the original the re-make would simply not exist.

  • ok, and what's your point? Dottie and Dolly both take their hat off to Whitney and respect what whitney's done with their songs. Why ya saying otherwise now? Whitney is simply the best.

  • My point, if you know how to read, is clearly stated in my post "without the original..who would have known the [original] song to begin with?" Dolly and Dottie take their hats off to Whitney as anyone who has the ability to hear would she sang them excellent, I personally grew up hearing the Preacher's wife so thats no surprise. Whitney the best? She was, hopefully she'll comeback and we'll see it again, and uh calm down, this is only internet convo.

  • both pf you grow up be adults and just let it go geez

  • I seen Dottie in 1974 playing that guitar! she was wonderful! I have always loved Dottie Rambo. For some reason everyone once to place Dottie's anointing on her outward appearance. Jesus doesn't care about outward appearances if he did he wouldn't have hung out with the prostitutes. God gave Dottie a gift and her gift came from the heart. She went through alot from the"churched people" ,alot of sickness and also a husband who left her during her sickness for another woman.

  • @girlswithguitars859 Jesus didn't "hang out" with prostitutes because he didn't care about outward appearance. He cast 7 devils out of one of them (Mary) and his message to all was REPENT not live how you want and dress how you want.

Jesus came to save us from our sins not to approve of our lifestyles.

He "hung out" with them so he could tell them where they were living and call them to repentance!

  • @wonone100 Your absolutely right their is a responsibility that we as christians are EXPECTED to do. One of them is not to LIVE or PLACE someone under condemnation. It defeats the purpose of WHY Christ died on the cross for us. Paul even states not to live under condemnation. People condem people for hair 'THIS IS CHURCHED IDEAS" God had a PLAN for Dottie's life, and THANK YOU LORD!!!! she ran all the way to glory with it. It wiil last until Jesus comes!

  • Amen to That!

  • This song has truely blessed me tonight, the Lord's will i'll sing it to the Glory of God Tomorrow.

  • Simply amazing, very inspiring. Dottie Rambo was the queen of gospel music.

  • Dottie is now in heaven continue singing and writing songs for our God......what a woman with talents and gifts to change the world!

  • Dottie is now reaping the rewards of serving the Savior she loved so dearly. You suffered enough physical and emotional pain in your life. I hope your passing was quick and painless.

  • How Dare You!

  • The world will NEVER konw another songwriter like Dottie

  • They will never know, i was upset over ky2here's comment and mis-typed

  • yea I'm with you on that - what kind of respect is that to show. At least she's not down here anymore to read comments like ky2here's. She was above that anyway. An amazing woman with an amazing faith.

  • I know she caked-on the make-up but come-on that not right what you said. The woman died tragically and did write many great songs that touched many. At least show some respect for a dead legend by refraining from insulting her appearance... this was the south in the 80s... big hair and heavy make-up

  • lol

  • You miserable demon controlled person.

  • So you think it is okay to let the devil's kids slide? It is okay with you for someone to insult a wonderful person and decent people are to say nothing? We are to defend and sometimes as Jesus did we need to call them vipers and snakes.

  • Dottie was a blessing. She is shouting on streets of gold now. We will miss you Dottie.

  • I play music...i love southern gospel even though i'm 28 i love those old songs. Over the years i've done a lot of this lady's songs and didn't even know she wrote them. She has written over 2500 songs! Not too many can say that for themselves...She will be terribly missed. I pray for her family and the Gospel community. There'll never be another quite like her.

  • I will miss this woman! She was great! As I sit here and cry, I pray blessing over her family. May the Lord Jesus Christ comfort her family.

    I'll miss you Dottie! :(

  • I grew up with the Rambos and their songs. This song (along with others) have helped me through many difficult times in my life. I was so stunned to hear of Dottie's passing. My prayers are with all the family n friends.

  • I just heard about Dottie's passing. Very sad news, she was great!

  • Dottie Rambo, you have been a tremendous blessing to my life. I grew up listening to what the Lord has given you and it's helped me out of some really tough times. I know it hasn't been an easy road for you but I just hope that serving God has been worth it all!

  • I love it!

  • Girl. Dottie you know you were just too much. Thanks director for bringing her to us again.

  • Thank you Dottie for all the Gospel Favorites you've composed. This song is one of my favorite.
