  • This add seems funny when you Consider Novells patient agreement with Microsoft.

  • I wish my server would go down.... on me.

  • what did i learn? microsoft employees have dreams about little boys

  • software is like sex. its better when its free.

  • Parody of Windows XP commercial!

  • this was NEVER on television. Novell never had the nerve to put this commercial on TV, although it SHOULD HAVE. Too bad it's now cozied up to Microsoft by selling it's intellectual property rights and selling itself to Attachmate. What a loss!

  • Unfortunately, this notes that the advertising company does not have a good idea on the OS operation.

  • simple answer to this is... Get windows 7 and stop watching porn... maybe then maybe your PC will work completely fine, just like mine does.

  • @notts57 for those whos wish to watch porn and not get infected get pinguy linux and install package kde-full by typing in sudo apt-get kde-full

  • Well this is talking about Novell Netware from the late 80's. Nothing came close to it.. It was truely numero uno.

  • 27 are Windows fanboys...

  • @DynamioPL and what about the 134? Mac fanboys?

  • I don't think the title 'anti-Microsoft' is accurate but it's still a good ad none the less...

  • why dot(dot)net?

  • i hate novell! my school has a novell server and it's so messed up i don't want to talk about it!

  • @lolfunnycp Obviously you don't know how to use it.

  • And even kiss my.. Novell

  • they used ms song they copywrited!

  • I've been running a Windows server hosting 3 sites since November 2009 and it worked perfectly.. for 4 weeks. Constant apache crashes, network times out, such a headache especially when im not around to fix it. Mandriva Linux Server later this week.

  • @CheeseZombieo Well apache on windows is like indian warrior in swimming cross the ocean in bathtub. For server, I would definately go Debian or build one myself from Gentoo or Slackware. None fancy desktop effects just pure perfomance and patch speed.

  • @lin545 I run a high production Windows web server with apache2 trust me I know. Linux was a fail, and so was FreeBSD. FreeBSD 8 x64 was the first I attempted installing and setting up because I prefer to use it over anything else. I cant use those because my Gigibit LAN is poorly supported on anything other than Mac/Win. Go figure lol

  • Is this song madonas?

  • @happygamestvfun1 Yup, its song included in XP install and ads. Licensed as usual etc etc with YOU paying for it everytime you purchase XP copy. Thats microsoft - all managing and no making it happen.

  • @lin545 yes i sure did pay for it *heheh coufgh* ;)

  • lol at the pedo watching the virtaul boy on his desktop

  • why make fun of BSOD, its an actual feture of windows, so the hardware don;t get damaged, and bsod 98% of time is cuased by the hardware, not windows fault i bet linux has somthing simular to bsod, and if it donst than it sucks, saying linux is good becuase it dont get bsod is like saying linux is good becuase it dont have ms paint... i mean seriosly...

  • @happygamestvfun1 I'm a Linux user and I don't really like the Windows environment so much, but I totally agree with what your saying.

  • @happygamestvfun1 actually its not a feature of Windows. It is their NT kernal panic screen. Every OS has it. Its shutting down most processes and telling you something fucked up. Have you not seen a Mac kernal panic if you load a wrong kext? Wait this is a Linux video hehe

  • @CheeseZombieo Yes BSOD is NT "panic", yet it has habbit of appearing 100,000 times more often whilst staying 100 times less informative than mac and linux combined no offence :)

  • @lin545 Who's offended? Im a Mac user. Im constantly fixing Windows crashes for other people.

  • @happygamestvfun1 ther is not BSOD in linux. not even something similar. i would explain to you why but that would mean to show in detail how the kernel in linux works and how the kernel in windows works.. assuming you know what that is.But its not worth the effort to explain it. just google/wiki it. k?

  • @ZeoFanaticGER

When that BSOD is actually a fake produced by malware you do ;)

  • @ZeoFanaticGER EPIC FAIL VIDEO HAHAHAHHA

  • Bleh, stupid ad. Everyone including microsoft knows Linux is the only option for servers. I just wouldnt use Linux as my main OS because well.. I've been using Windows for years.

  • @GlobalMusicStage

OH really? I wonder why MS keeps on selling its "sever" line of the windows OS then?

Or why it has launched huge campaigns against Linux.

The Ad isnt stupid because you dont like it ^_~

  • @GlobalMusicStage Ive been using Microsoft starting from DOS5 for tens of years, yet two years ago switched to linux completely as my desktop OS. Yep thats it, no more crashes but stinky hardware manufacturers with no drivers instead. Yup, its better.

  • @lin545

I am with you I do see problems, hardware drivers and some Closed Source things like video codecs take fiddling to work.

BUT I have 4 desktops, different programs running, sometimes running up to use 1.5 Gigabyte of memory [due to tabbed browsing]. And you know what rock solid!

Under windows well forget tabbed browsing.. After the 10th or so the OS begins to grow a dislike for your browser.

  • @masticina The high memory usage tabbed browsing stuff, is actually due to firefox caching. Firefox has ridicious cache, it takes 70% of your free memory and starts looking at webpages you opened. Then he caches everything in them, then your history and so on, till it grows and fills like 70% of ram. Of course it is different versions, but still, firefox on 512mb pc ate up to 300. After upgrade on 1gb - near 600. Now with 4gigs it can eat sometimes up to 1 gig. Still handles 100+ tabs easily.

  • @lin545

If you got memory Use it :)

I don't mind firefox claiming a bit of memory if it wants so. Not to mention if I disliked it I could tighten it!

Under windows I probably never get the memory back under linux it is now "cached" but easy to give up.

  • lol! 0:38 = ouch

  • That's why the worlds 14 fastest supercomputers use Linux.

  • "Yeah, well, you can tell Mr. Bill Gates to come down here to Sub Level 6 and he can come kiss my a--"

    LOL

  • True

  • Go Novell! I hope Microsoft will soon be a thing of the past.

  • Novell bloatware is just a painful. Adding it to windows makes the experience worth killing yourself..

  • love it!

  • I dual-boot Windows XP SP3 and Ubuntu 9.04; best dual-boot combo ever!

  • it doesn't surprise me why novell would make so many non-microsoft videos, but they really aren't that good. i'm all for linux but i wouldn't want to pay for suse enterprise and realize this is what the money is going to, especially if it doesn't end up on tv

  • yeah my college has a windows server and NOTHING WORKS files get lost accounts go missing valve hammer messes up

we use to use a Linux server years ago and everything worked fine

  • @CornishCreamtea07 That would be user error. Your server host doesn't know how to run a system

  • Totally agree...

It is making the fun part of development (low level systems parts) non lucrative.

If FSF plot to take over of the industry have success, it will make just IT sector lucrative, and the IT sector is a slow painful silent death.

  • @witzfritz19 You're shit.

  • Windows.. Glad to let the past behind me.

  • Bwhahahaha! Genius!

  • this is fucking awesome

  • Too bad they've gone down a different path :(

  • And you can call Bill Gates so he can get here down to sub 6 and kiss my ass.. LOL

  • LOL, very funny. Can't believe people are still using MS overpriced crapware. Thanks for posting :-)

  • it's because all of your big company comp. manufacturers hate free software, so they load the PC with the crapware, and take away your choice of an OS!!!! thats why i LOVE linux!!!! it's free and MUCH better!!!!

  • I used ubuntu for a few weeks and I got more error messages and crashes than in 95,98,ME,XP,and Vista combined.

  • Wow, did you work to get those crashes?

  • lol right?

  • I've used Ubuntu for 2 and a half months. I haven't seen an error message or a crash yet. I worked with XP on my machine prior to this and only saw error messages when I forgot my night routine of maintenance (took an hour to shut down my machine but it ran well otherwise). Maybe you could explain exactly what you were doing that caused error messages. I'd really like to know what they look like in Ubuntu.

  • Apparently you cannot take care of your computer.

  • Shows up as a yellow star and top right as crash report, and when an window crash usualy you can just do xkill command on terminal to close a frozzen program. But when a crash report shows usualy means something didnt install right

  • getting more errors then 98 or 95 O.o either you got a beta and that beta just hates you or your completely stupid and not knowing how to use it.

  • Funny Through

    =)

  • I lul when people just say "WINDOWS BLOO SKREENS ALL DA TIME" It's called having a slight sense what to download and what to delete. don't go around deleting system files and don't go around downloading things called "SUPER PR0N VIDEO.EXE" I've only had windows blue screen once. And I've been using it since '95.

  • I've had it at least 10 times, and yet I had no virus on it, nor had it downloaded "SUPER PR0N VIDEO.EXE" or any other suspicious files. Having a slight sense what to download doesn't mean shit if your using Windows, a lot of cumputers simply crash just by using it.

  • A very funny ad, as usual, from Novell.

  • and he can kiss my a.....hahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!

    linux rules!

  • ur mum sucks

if u like windows just dont watch this vid!

  • Well, you suck in general, especially Steve Ballmer.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA lol

  • ahahahahahh

  • Novell(Linux included)+Apple=Happy Me

  • are you serious?? is this or was this a real ad?

  • go die

  • Strange... Doesn't Microsoft own Novell now? Or Parts of Novell.

  • yes, they do,look at the bottom comment:Abercr0mbie4life (2 months ago)yup, then Novell turned into Bill's bitch and now pays extortion money to Micro$oft.

  • yup, then Novell turned into Bill's bitch and now pays extortion money to Micro$oft.

  • Couple of things: the error doesn't feature the XP error icon, the BSOD has Trebuchet MS as font?

Off that, it is very fun!!

  • they can get sued if they did that, although technically we have a constitution that may say otherwise, Micro$oft usually finds ways around our pesky laws and rights and yadda yadda yadda....

  • I have smoked a lot of hashishi before but never enough to make a small child fly around in my computer...This advert is giving me ideas...Freaky Ideas!

  • with children?

  • My inner child

  • roflmao brilliant

  • I loled!

  • JAJAJA XD

    so funny

  • Fantastic commercial!

  • novelle was bough by microsoft.... wtf?

if you use linux do not use anything based on novelle :/

if you do, your supporting microsoft. then we all lose

  • DJDigitalMonster WTF are you on about Microsoft never bought Novell they just made agreement as microsoft want linux servers to run with smooth with end users running windows at home and stuff like that get your facts right

  • "agreement" with Microsoft is synonymous with being "Microsoft's bitch".

  • I do kinda question that. UNlike Xandros and Linspire, SUSE does not use Live Search instead of googlee, and I think Novell might be porting the Office 2007 formats and Silverlight to Linux. So it could be for or against Linux. I'll Read more about it.

  • it already did, before you posted your comment :)

  • Awesome!

  • Applications don't crash just because of Windows, they crash mostly because they are poorly written. With all those applications available for the Windows platform, there is no way that a even a novice user won't experience at least one application crash.

I have the priviledge to administrate few Win2003 servers, and they have never crashed on me. Only some buggy applications produced some errors, but they surely didn't bring down Windows with them.

  • Yes, but Windows responds poorly to crashed applications, and the OS is more likely to crash.

  • :D :D :D

  • Linux rules! Windows sucks horribly! Go to freewebs dot com/windowsisbad to see how Windows is horrible.

  • I see that you uses Linux, since your website sucks as!

You havne't even tried Vienna so how do you know.. You're a guy who decides which is the best before trying it... Moron!

  • Most websites run on Linux. Youtube runs on Linux. Google runs on Linux. Your favorite hollywood movie was edited on Linux. Vienna is no longer named vienna, they changed it to Windows 7.

  • most used task manager very fun, most used is firefox or media player with me, but im just a dumb microsoft user, and i dont care being one because they are right for me, cheap linux bastards muahahah!! (thats not funny at all)

  • Die windows. Yay linux !!! And mac is quite good, but stil costly...

  • ***Barfs on mac lover

  • how can you like mac, Linux should have knocked that right out of your head. I mean if I had to chose, and I mean right out had to give up linux to chose... thered be no question I would chose windows. But lets not start that old Windows vs Mac war up eh??

  • I don't see any problem with liking Mac I am a big Linux geek but I have a G5 and love it,the fact is most Unix based OS' are good.

  • It was a joke, I HATE MACS!!! But because they run on linux (i no all the mac lovers say UNIX) they are not crap. Just simply a waste of money. Buy a normal pc and put linux on it. Then you get OSX for free and can get a good pc without paying thousands extra!!!

  • Technically, Mac Os X uses the Darwin kernel which is based of BSD. But BSD is very compatable with Linux (At least FreeBSD.) So I would kinda say Mac OS X is like Linux. And the part saying get a PC with Linux, 100% Agree.

  • Thank you! I think hating Macs is a bit harsh. But OSX is quite so fabulous they have you believe. NOT the most stable in the world - we use macs at school and they crash more than older win pcs! The LATEST IMACs and Macbooks are no better than the previous gen!

  • Do the world a favor and don't reproduce.

  • Jonathan Candy sounds like the name of a paedophile

  • He probably is. "Hey you, kid. Want some free software?"

  • Really now? This was a comedy piece and they hinted at it with the name Jonathan Candy. John Candy? Trains, Plains and Automobiles? SCTV? Ring a bell? Really... The guy was a family man and a great actor. I highly doubt he is a pedophile.

And I know you weren't talking about this guy in the video, but just the name in general.

  • Nice

  • Yaai!!! Windows SUCKS!!

  • Novel sucks.

  • "and he can kiss my-"

  • ROFL!!!

  • Hehe :)

Windows XP's most used application: Task Manager...

  • windows Vista's most used application's: Driver Locator; Welcome center; security center...

  • ...and BSOD.EXE.

  • Quem diria... Novell mudou muito !!

  • tinha que mudar para o suse mesmo.

  • BSOD!!! BSOD!!!

  • not much of a anti ad...
